A perfect Game Pass title. Short, fun, unique, just clever enough to make you have to think every once in a while.
The Touryst really is like a nice little vacation, allowing you to temporarily island-hop through the protagonist's trip. Pretty much everything you do is rooted in an activity you might actually do on vacation (assuming you're a fan of spelunking), so this is a great way to pass a few hours during the winter.

Plusy i minusy:
+ bardzo ładne lokacje, artstyle i grafika
+ zabawni npc, przyjemne, proste zadania i zagadki, eksploracja wysp i wypełnianie listy zadań daje dużą satysfakcję
+ bardzo fajnie wyreżyserowane i klimatyczne mroczniejsze momenty kampanii
+ muzyka
- czasami bezwładność postaci i praca kamery irytuje

The Touryst is a 3d blocky puzzle platformer that really doesn't have too much platforming.
The game is padded out a fair bit with what would normally be side quests, little mini games and fetch quests. Which is fine, though you're required to do a certain percentage to complete the see and see the credits.
But it's got a nice atmosphere and does have a very summery feel (which is nice given that I'm in wintery cold Melbourne).
Some of the mini games though are a pain, while others are a nice distraction.
The temples tend to be interesting, implementing different mechanics. Some of the temples require you to do platforming to platforms over inky black depths, which makes life a little too tricky as it's hard to get a sense of depth.
The games not punitive though, any death just restarts you from the start of the room, but it can be frustrating all the same.

I love these sandbox collectable adventure games. The blocky art style and hilarious writing with the pop culture references are what I love seeing. Being able to revisit areas after unlcoking new mechanics or getting the final "thing" for a gather quest and collecting coin to purchase upgrades for this or that makes for a fun title imo. A beach adventure with a sci-fi twist.
The gameplay is varied and fun. A beautiful polished world to explore and runs exceptionally well on the Switch, to my surprise. I’d just sit there for minutes in awe of its glorious voxel art. I just love that chunky look! Unfortunately the story is nonexistent, even though it attempts to have one.
The major issue is its platforming parts near the end. The jumps are unforgiving and difficult to ascertain the distance between each platform. I almost quit because of this section of the game.

100% complete. The Touryst is a fantastic third-person adventure game, evoking 2D Zelda in its puzzle-solving gameplay, despite itself itself being a 3D game. The blocky voxel-based graphics are beautifully effective, with the colourful tropical islands in which the game is set really popping off the screen - and these serve to create an immensely characterful, fun-filled world. A wide variety of mini-games are scattered throughout each island - from football penalty shoot-outs through to a video game arcade (with working Fast RMX clone!), via drone piloting - but while these are all enjoyable, the game really excels in the more puzzle-based segments. These vary from filling an art gallery by solving riddles to identify specific people around the world through to puzzle dungeon sequences. The only significant criticism that I'd make is that there are a few frustrating 3D platforming sequences, where the camera angles make jumps very difficult to judge accurately. Fortunately, instant respawns are available and these sequences are infrequent, so they're only a slight blemish on an otherwise superb experience.
It's like the mini-games in games like Yakuza and Gta combined and turned into a game. It's full of mini-games that at first you think ''how nice'' but after that you continue to main story, but when this is almost the whole game, the magic is lost. It's nice that It tries to show too many different things in a short time, but when these are shallow, it meaningless.
In the game, besides the mini-games that I have mentioned almost all of the game, there are also dungeons that have puzzles. After solving a few puzzles, we do simple things like putting stones on the water while strange beings called sentinels try to stop us. If I remember correctly, there are 6 of these dungeons and unfortunately they are short like the game itself.
Other than that, the story is pretty simple, as I expected. I'm not saying that as a criticism, it would be absurd to have a deep story out of a game that should be calming anyway. However, something I didn't like was when It asked us to do 15 of the 21 missions in order to continue the story. Yes, the game is quite short even with mission requirement, but it is not acceptable that it requires to do shallow side missions that should be optional. Because of this necessity, I made the analogy of "mini-games combined and turned into a game" that I wrote above. Normally, I had already done all the missions, but seeing that at least some of the missions that I thought were optional had to be done, I was quite annoyed.
The graphics are what the game is best at. The Minecraft-like blocky world and characters look really nice with realistic lighting.
All in all, The Touryst didn't meet my expectations, but it's still not a game I'd throw in the trash or praise It to the skies. Maybe it's not for me , I don't know. 5/10
