Al parecer que mi copia del demo de metal gear solid 2 vino con una copia gratis de zone of the enders

The gameplay and overall idea of this game are definetly things that i like, but there are a lot of parts of this game that can get really annoying and frustrating and the story being mostly alright for me at times.

Overall not bad but also not that good just alright tbh

The greatest game I've ever played.

The sense of freedom the gameplay gave me as a child is still stuck with me even as an adult and some of my today's preferences were heavily influenced by this piece of media, like the mecha genre as a whole.

Might sound cheesy (It sure does), but the opening song stills gives me chills down my spine, everytime I hear it, the kid inside of me is overwhelmed with joy.

The only thing I think this game lacks is... Length or replayable stages. But it is okay, since it was intended this way, or at least that what I think.

Only a few bosses, but everytime the stakes were higher, like with Tyrant, that m**** just shot you down like we were some mere, helpless bird and had to work your way to be able to even fight him.

Now, going to the first one, Tempest, I remember when I played this when I was a little one of just 6-7 or something... I couldn't get past him, but some dude friend of my dad helped me with it.

Oooh boy... Don't get me started with Viola and this zombie-like boss fight, the music, the drama after... Just pure cinema

'Your simple existence denies mine'

AND if that wasn't enough... Then there was that impossible boss fight... Were the music also was something else, making you feel that sh*t was really going down, and you were powerless as Anubis was just superior.

Also, worth mentioning, but part of the reason I'm able to be writing this way in a non-native language of mine, is this game. Originally, this game had no Spanish language, which is my native language, but as time went by, I got used to the english language, the voices, the subtitles... Really helped a lot for me to learn it, another reason for me to be this heavily attached to this game.

Only played this mid to prepare for the second game

We have shot down the enemy. We have obtained the Metatron ore.

Combat was fun as fuck but it got repetitive and bumping into invisible walls during bosses while trying to dodge was annoying

No idea how this ended up being the first Kojima game I actually played despite being familiar with his works for nearly a decade and this being one of them I knew the least about prior to playing.

Zone of the Enders might be the most standard cheesy mech game to ever cheesy mech game. The controls and camera are definitely a product of their time and fights can become a bit samey with standard enemies constantly being reused throughout the game's runtime. Variety still manages to at least present itself in interesting boss fights that were pretty fun to figure out the different timings/rhythms to and the different upgrades that can be applied to your mech. The balance was a bit silly with some items being blatantly better than others while some were nearly useless, but just having the option of a large arsenal combined with the fun movement made combat all the more fun than it had any right to be.

I'd go far as to say that this would objectively be a very average to mediocre game, but it was good to me. Something about the early-2000s cheesy sci-fi atmosphere and combat that didn't try to be deeper than it was made this one really fun despite some minor frustrating moments.

Fun mech action-game (Jehuty is hands-down my favourite mech design ever) with good music which doesn't overstay its welcome. Suffers from poor conveyance at certain parts where you're left wandering around hoping to stumble upon what the game wants you to stumble upon, but for the most part it's not too bad.

Increíble que la demo de mgs2 venga con un juego de regalo

an extremely fun to use and versatile combat system almost wasted on a useless story with annoying characters and poor writing. i suppose i could put that down to poor translation and dubbing but still. repetitive and inane mission design with extremely poor feedback concerning where you have to go at times. the ending is notorious for its blatant sequelbait but up to that point is kind of cool. it's cool in the same way that it's cool when a puppy decides to not piss on a rug and instead piss outside. not based on personal experience at all. what the fuck is this review lmao this game just gave me nothing to say about it really but it was pretty fun. hope the sequel is better.

Shouts out to all the people who kept seeing this game as posters inside lockers in MGS2 and tried the game out exclusively for that fact (Game is alright, "being stylish" is its best feature).

Really dug this at the time. English dub is rough, though.

The sequel is what you want, but this one is still good.

Kinda decided to play this on a whim and what a PS2 ass video game. It really does feel like it exists to just set up the sequel in terms of it's story as you just sorta spreed through it all without any real explanation, but that's okay but the gameplay loop is simple and fun enough to make sure you don't notice too much. Soundtrack wise, I was grooving the whole time too. My only real complaints is the lack of clear objective direction sometimes and Leo being a whiney little baby but thats the PS2 for you.

Jehuty is a sick ass mech design though they were cooking with that

a little on the short side, very janky but worth the play nonetheless. i could smell the gundam references, that made the experience a lot more interesting

Just shut the fuck up and take lives, you silly wee bitch.

Fun 4 hr game with surprisingly really good combat and cool bosses, my main problem would be it got kind of repetitive fighting the same 3 enemies. the story was not rlly my main interest (nor was it that engaging) but that last hour of the game was really special.

Also it has some of the rawest mech designs ever

Ada❤️

A very short game, but also one that creates a very solid base for its sequel to build upon. I love the look of this game, the UI, the music, the whole extremely Gundam story set up with a kid getting in an experimental mech while a space colony is under attack. It's great.

I stopped playing for a month and entirely forgot what was going on. Lovely mechs though.

For a PS2 game, this game slaps. Mechanically at least.

A lot of the levels are very confusing, and the game design of backtracking between short 5 minute levels is really confusing.

The characters and story beats were neat to see though, and it's awesome to see Leo return in ZoE2, with a few quips regarding ADA. I'm just glad this game exists so that ZoE2 can shine as bright as it does.

Me gusto mucho la demo de MGS2.

Prime example of style over substance. The Mechs are badass and so is the techno soundtrack, but then you get to the gameplay and it's 4 hours of padding of what should at most be a 2 hour game. The backtracking, the long winded word salad that Kojima is known for (only this time it's for menial shit like "you got an item" getting turned into a paragraph's worth of information by an annoying robot voice) all culminate in a potent, repetitive squashing of a potentially fantastic game.

This game set a pretty strong foundation for its sequel on the gameplay department. Tight and fluid controls that feel extremely satisfying to play, although there were some moments where I felt kinda lost or felt frustrated trying to have precise shots with small targets. The graphics are honestly pretty impressive for an early PS2 title, and its clear that this game was inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam with its whole premise.

Pelo menos os designs dos mechas são maneiros, obrigado Yoji Shinkawa

muito foda na gameplay, muito bosta em todo resto
