level design in this game is some of the most boring stuff i've gone through in a game. lots of flat planes, lots of linear levels, and too much of the boring. eventually, the updates made it a better game, but I don't fucking know why nintendo needs to slowly patch a game. just give us the full game right there please and maybe i would have given it a better score (though that is a long stretch because the story kinda sucks)
This was not the greatest Kirby game, but it was pretty alright. It's Kirby, so I'll probably love it regardless, but I've definitely played better. I actually did kind of like the steady patching slowly introducing more content, since it made it fun to go back to it and see what else they added. The last game mode with the special partners was pretty neat, and it was great to see a bunch of characters from all over the series getting to be playable and whatnot.
I didn't really like the combo system, though. I think it probably would've been more fun if I'd been doing multiplayer co-op, but... well... I'm single player for life... also I did kind of enjoy the story because it's always fun to see a story go buckwild at the end of a Kirby game.

This is, more or less, a full-featured reimagining of Kirby Super Star for more a more modern console. It is visually stunning, musically enchanting, and manages to sneak in some interesting character moments. It has an overreliance on its cooperative elements that makes it less engaging than the Wii and 3DS entries in the series; trying to play the game without throwing friend hearts at everything you see is like playing an old-school arcade game with infinite quarters.
