A very refreshing change to the LEGO style of games. Bit repetitive and levels weren't anything spectacular but the variety of things to do was immense. Hope to see more LEGO games like this in the future, but can we finally be done with Skywalker shit now? I wanna see more of the SW universe that's not them plsthx

A fun romp through the Star Wars saga.

An enjoyable experience through and through packed with charm and hilarity. The sheer amount of characters, collectibles, and environments in this game is impressive alone, but playing through the entire story of all 9 films was awesome too.

The gameplay does get repetitive at some point, but it's better than many other Lego games due in part to this game's slightly more interesting combat system and character mechanics. If you don't like Lego games this one probably won't be any different, but if you do then this is likely to be one of your favorites.

Where's my character creator?

Wonderful time, great humor. Cant say I vibed with everything. But it doesnt matter, its 100% a game ill just pop on and play the story if I feel like. I wish it focused more on playing your favorite moments. The gameplay is fun, and my favorite of any LEGO. The humor is stellar, and the overall feeling of playing all 9 movies is great.

Theres no reasons why each movie couldnt have one more level especially cause some of them are just one room. But every movie has its highlights despite the quickness. Its whatever in the end its just a really fun Lego game.

Welp after all this time here it is. So much anticipation for years about this game, and after some delays we finally have it.

And yeah it's pretty damn good.

This is by far the best lego game ever, and honestly one of, if not the best star wars game ever.

I mean it has basically most things you could ask for out of a star wars game. There's a wide variety of massive planets for you to actually fly to, through space, in a ship of your choice, and then explore massive areas of whatever planet you pick. There are over 300 characters from the Star Wars universe with some real deep cuts and whacky choices. Each character has their own class and skill tree with surprisingly deep and fleshed out gameplay. You can own massive ships like the Steadfast, hell you can even own the frickin Death Star and have it as your own to run around in. This game is basically a star wars fans dream come true.

The story is just, well star wars, but lego, and more comedic. I will say in some cases such as in Revenge of The Sith, when Anakin and Obi wan are cracking jokes during their final battle it does kinda fuck with the vibes a little bit but you aren't playing a lego game for a serious experience. speaking of comedy there are some really funny moments and character interactions in this, a lot of which are just them making fun of actual star wars which is always nice.

I think the only things I wished they'd improved on a bit more is

1. have dual wielding lightsaber combat, I know barely any characters use 2 lightsabers but come onnnn, would be awesome.

2. Add custom characters, feels weird to not have it and with the whole class system thing it seems like a given.

3. Force you to play different characters more often. There are a lot of side missions that make you play different classes of characters, but more often than not you're gonna be playing the same 10-ish characters the entire game. Have more missions that force you to change into some more obscure characters or something. Make use of those 300+ characters.

Overall, this game is great, I did get a little bored in the post game, just going around every planet doing mostly the same thing on each one. But that doesn't take away from the fact that the main story is very fun, the gameplay is the best we've ever had in a Lego game. The character and ship selection is fantastic, the attention to detail surrounding the entire game is outstanding and the fact they made the sequel trilogy enjoyable is a spectacle.

Very good game.

Edit: Okay so after playing through the post game some more, it's really fucking boring. Like my god I cannot play this game for more than an hour now without getting incredibly bored and I always have to have a tv show or something on in the background. I can't fault it for the main game stuff, all that is great. but the post game sheeeeeesh. Knocking it down a few points, the game is boring as fuck once you beat the story.

Everything that I had hoped for and more.

8/10

So I've completed the main story but still need to 100% down the line, and I've never had a game give me such a conflicting feeling in my life. The story for the most part is really fun, but to balance it out you have episode 1 which is one of the worst things I've ever played, and the sequel trilogy is pretty poor. I think this got way overhyped but the fact is that outside of episode 1, as well as most of the sequel trilogy, this game is a blast, and my highlight is probably the Yoda vs Palpatine fight in episode 3.

Star Wars fans will definitely enjoy this one for the exploration and tongue in cheek humour, especially in the prequels, the game is never afraid to take a jab at itself or the films it's based on, but it can't hit the heights complete saga gave us unfortunately. Something is missing that I can't put my finger on (and the bugs don't help the cause either) but right now I'm left feeling happy overall with the state of the game, but this could have been so much more.

This is one of the funniest games I've played in a long time. Granted most of these are memes and inside jokes about the movies but there are plenty of laughs to be had. Also bonus points for including the Clone Wars cast for the prequel trilogy of films. It's cool to see these actors do the iconic prequel lines even though they've been sillified.

For the actual game, it focuses less on the levels and more on the exploration of the open-world areas. It makes sense since we all know what happens in the films so they're just doing their best to recap it so that we can explore these levels right away. I personally think it's a fine shift since we didn't have this much content packed into a Lego game before.

Also another additional point for making combat basically lego DMC.

The complete saga is better I think, but this one was still a lot of fun to explore.

A very enjoyable Star Wars experience.

The look and feel of this game is amazing, it’s a fresh take on the series. The episodes were fun, pretty easy and an overall 10/10 from me.

I loved the characters, the different classes was nice, and the paid DLC is worth it, in my opinion and adds some Star Wars favourites to the game. The levels weren’t repetitive, as they explored lots of the planets, from Tatooine to Exegol. The only problems I could find with it were that the story is short (Still loads to do), and there was a few bugs but still my favourite 2022 release so far.

The nostalgia goggles are off. What a truly repetitive game. I know it's a Lego game made for kids however, this game feels only a fraction of what it could have been. So many significant moments from the films are cut and the moments you do play are so pedestrian. In saying that, the level of detail that's put in the worlds and character list is incredible. No doubt I'll jump on this game every now and then to chip away at the collectables but for now the story mode has left me really disappointed.

Almost 3 years ago in E3 2019, I was hyped for this game to come out. I originally planned to get this for my Switch, but when I got my PS5, I changed my mind and got the game for that system instead.

And let me tell you, those almost 3 years were defiantly worth it. A LEGO game that is amazing to play and has the comedy you'd love to see and listen to.

My favorite Lego Game hands down, so fresh, new, exciting and fun.

I don't know how to accurately rate Lego titles. They're games meant for young children that offer zero challenge and are really just an excuse to run around and collect a million different things. Which, turns out, I'm down for. Every few years when one of these games pops up and is based on a franchise I'm actually interested in, I hop on board for a bit, because they're the kind of simple, mindless fun I think you need once and a while.

The Skywalker Saga is very much of that same mold, although on a seemingly much larger scale. The individual levels of each movie have been abridged to a greater degree than past Lego Star Wars titles (perhaps too much so), but alongside them come much larger, open environments that constitute the meat of this particular one. Side-by-side they offer a lot of variety and I never really found myself bored with each level's gimmicks or the surprising amount of different puzzles, even if it did leave me yearning for a few more character classes to break up some of the more monotonous abilities.

In terms of other criticisms I have about the game, I wish they'd go a bit more off-script from the movies at times. When they do it's really a highlight, but cutscenes stick more to doing word-for-word line reading of the film dialogue and letting the humor fill the background instead of bringing it the forefront. In addition I encountered several annoying bugs that disrupted side quests and collecting tasks, though to the game's credit, it is very good about saving everything so I rarely had to redo something I already accomplished. Also no amount of lampooning could make up for having to re-experience The Rise of Skywalker again, but I suppose that was unavoidable given the game's premise.

Ultimately I'd say this game's biggest strength is simply letting you exist and breathe in the Star Wars universe. The breaks in-between levels where you can just roam around, meet characters, explore the vast array of planets, or just take in the ambience of the extremely detailed environments coupled with the classic Star Wars music and sounds makes for a really relaxing experience. Lego games will never be the most compelling things you'll ever play, but every once and a while I think it's worth it to play something like this for a change of pace. Considering this game delivers on that and then some, I'd say it achieved its goal.

UPDATE: Lowering my score one star. At this point in time I've almost 100% the game but due to a bug I have been unable to do so. Truthfully my entire experience with trying to platinum The Skywalker Saga has been an exercise in frustration due to the constant bugs, glitches, and crashes, little of which I experienced through my main playthrough of the game, but have become overwhelmingly apparent in my attempt to complete everything. I know there are players out there who have experienced even more severe, game-breaking bugs than I have, so I can't even say I've gotten the worst of it.

Adding to that frustration has been the fact that we're now going on nearly a month without any sort of patch to fix these problems, and radio silence from the developer on when we can expect one. Quite frankly that is inexcusable and has really soured my opinion on the game overall, even if a lot of the praise I heaped upon it earlier still stands. I'm sure at some point in the future this game will be fixed and these complaints will be rendered a non-issue, but I simply cannot ignore how long this game has been left to flounder in is post-release window.

i was cautiously optimistic for this one and genuinely surprised!
way more fun than I expected, and made me appreciate the sequel trilogy a little more!
level design is great, if slightly repetitive. The humor is spot on and the exploration is satisfying.
biggest surprise of 2022!

Good game, probably the best lego game tbh

A simple game that takes things back to a simpler time. I'm still ruminating about my final thoughts over this game - something I'll speak more on once I 100% it - but this is by far the best Lego game made in a good while; so good in fact I'm rethinking my assessments of the previous Lego titles I hold in high regard.

A pretty great Lego game with loads of fun nods to the series, I wish it was a bit more focused on making more unique chapters and levels rather than the hub missions but it's still fun.

so swag i loved this a ton!
the complete saga is still a bit butter but i still had tons of fun playing the skywalker saga!!

in a sense this is the Star Wars game myself and a lot of other people have always wanted, for better or for worse. on one hand it does a good job adapting the movies in a way that gives you breathing room to explore between main missions, which are shorter and more linear. feels less like a LEGO Star Wars game than a Star Wars LEGO game. it's cute but not as creative as the older games, which had a lot of bloat but at the very least fundamentally understood the "LEGO" part of the title. and while i like how expansive the scope of the open world is, it can get overwhelming and not in a good way. there's quantifiably too much to do but with a few exceptions none of it is substantial in any regard. when you take away all the dumb Kyber Brick stuff it's visibly lacking in content which should not be the case for something with this much potential. the troubled development cycle really shows because for a game so centered around the number of playable characters, ships, and planets, the contrast between certain inclusions and omissions are head-scratching. also as i'm writing this it's been nearly a month since release and no word of a patch has been given which is rightfully infuriating for many, would be less so if there was any semblance of communication on TT's side but celebrating one of your biggest launches ever and then continuing to keep the people that paid for the product in the first place in the dark about when it'll be, y'know, finished is pretty scummy. hopefully it's patched soon and more content is added outside of meaningless character packs because i'd totally return to it if actual DLC levels for stuff like Clone Wars, Rogue One or Solo were released (which for something like Clone Wars seems like a no-brainer considering how nostalgia is easily the form of revenue these companies seem to bank on most consistently these days lol) but as of right now i 100%'d it so i really have no incentive to ever touch it again. big big disappointment

Will come back to this review after I’ve done the shitload of side content and unlocked a lot of the ungodly amount of characters but I’ll leave my review with this; Even with the voice acting, Traveler’s Tales still managed to maintain the slapstick humor and visual gags of the original games and the writing was pretty entertaining too. Also Lego May Cry

Edit: so that was a fucking lie

Overall, this game is pretty good. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I love the Complete Saga so I tried to temper my expectations for this game. I knew it could never live up to the version of the game that I can imagine without the limits of time, resources, or practicality.

It's definitely not perfect. The levels are very short, most of them are vehicle levels and are over in a matter of minutes. The concept of character classes is interesting but the implementation is a bit off. A lot of the old abilities are gone and the new abilities are shoehorned onto characters just because they broadly fit into a class even if it doesn't make sense for them.

But in the end those don't detract from the experience too much and I understand that concessions had to be made. Where the game really shines is in the open world and attention to detail. All the planets are fun to explore and brimming with detail. You can tell a lot of care was put into it. The character roster is massive and full of obscure characters like Mister Bones and Jubnuk that is a real treat for diehard fans.

The combat system is also surprisingly fun, although most encounters are so easy you don't get many opportunities to dig into it. The humor and writing were pretty on point. While obviously geared to a young audience, I still got a chuckle out of it pretty often. It's a great game, just don't go in with sky-high expectations.
