5/10
There are no words. It's just awful. This is the worst lego game ever.
I completed more than 8 lego games. It was a pity for me to spend even 2 hours of my life on this

Here is the interface of some mobile game. Here the coins look artificial, they were changed for the first time in 15 years, now they are ghostly, why, and they are not interesting to collect, but this is 90% of what you have to do in the lego game.
There are 7 inscriptions on the screen, a bunch of mechanics are mixed in, a bunch of crazy mess, it feels like I'm playing some kind of Chinese game.
Here the split screen mode is not dynamic, it is divided in half, like 20 years ago). There is no scale of coins that you must collect per level. Characters are bought not in the store, but in the menu. Cutscenes in which the figures talk, why, it spoils the atmosphere of these funny sketches. I'm not against experiments, I don't like most Lego games because it`s "conveyor", but here it is - this is a terrible rape of the legendary classic game for the money, it seems to me that it was not about creativity, but simply the publisher forced "ADD A LOT OF NEW AND MAKE IT LOOK AT 60 bucks." I am against innovations purely for the sake of innovations, here from the first seconds, from the design of the menu, it is clear that this is an absolutely tasteless game from creative impotents. The only reason this game can succeed - it`s nastolgia, some levels look nice, atmospheric, and it seems that all the levels here have been reworked, this is not a remake. But also some story levels take place in some kind of semi-open world, like accompany the person from point A to point B, this is some kind of Assassin's Creed, this is no longer a scripted well-developed corridor levels.
They did show some creativity on one thing, these are fights, added combos, life bars, more tricks, there’s nothing to complain about here, but I just can’t play it, I’m sick of this, this game with all its multi-layered mechanics is played more boringly then the simplest, the most childish, some kind of "Lego movie" game.
I don’t know why to play it, it’s better to replay the original Star Wars, globally there’s only episodes 7 and 9 are new, and even in the form of films they are boring, 8ep good, but it’s expensive topay 60$ for 1 new episode, where lego game based on the films "Rogue-one"? "Han Solo"? "Mandalorian"? Well, yes, it’s only a dream to demand such a thing..

There is also "cyberpunk level" optimization at the start, episode 7 started on gtx 1650 at the lowest settings - 15fps, purely commercial wrapper.

I don’t even want to complete whole game for a full review, because I don’t want to replace my childhood memories of original Lego SW with this shi..

Kinda feels like they just wanted to make a lego star wars movie...and not a good one.

isso definitivamente não foi feito para mim.

Crying from too much peak fiction

Funny how the prequels are simultaneously the worst movies and the worst part of this game.

What an incredible game. The wait for this was worth it in the end because you can really feel all the love the developers put into this. Im currently on the 7th film and after playing both of the past trilogies i can really say that this game is one of the greatest of all time. The boss fights are fun as hell and really unique from other lego boss fights. This lego game is the most unique overall. The open world, the fights, the options are almost endless. Truly the greatest lego game of all time.

Man, this sure was what I wanted it to be. I loved this experience of going through the story and I can't wait to dive into free play, because that's like a whole other game in store.

Criticisms? Well some of the levels are kind of lackluster. I vastly preferred Complete Saga's interpretation of the Phantom Menace in particular and also Rise of Skywalker was kind of dull outside of a couple of levels. Also, there are some glitches, though one you've likely heard about is incredibly funny where the characters don't render at all basically.

As for positives, more levels hit than miss, and a lot of them hit hard. The gameplay feels like a complete evolution of the Lego formula by vastly fleshing out various mechanics including the implementation of a combo system. However, you can still play it more like a normal Lego game if you prefer. The shooting mechanics are basically 3rd person shooter mechanics, which I appreciated. And the abundance of content and fun that can be had beyond even beating the story.... wow.

I love this game and I still will be playing it for the next couple of months. TT, thank you for taking your time in making this a Star Wars and Lego experience like no other.

In 2015, Disney subsidiary Lucas Films released Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. A retelling of '77s A New Hope with flashier special effects and bombastic cinematography. Despite this new coat of paint, The Force Awakens struggles to juggle both a decades old, tried and true legacy and a handful of contemporary tropes to bring Star Wars into the modern age. Almost in parody of the infamous "Ring Theory", Travelers Tales have suffered much the same fate.

LEGO™ Star Wars™: The Skywalker™ Saga is an overproduced and overdemanding game. Crunch has always been an issue with game development, but with The Skywalker™ Saga we see a new result of crunch, that being a game with several unneccesarily added brand new mechanics which both don't mix with the tried and true LEGO™ format, as well as add hours upon hours of monotony to this new entry in the already notorious backlog of lengthy games.

One of the many new features is the addition of Skill Trees: both a core upgrade tree for all characters, and a smaller tree for each of the 9 classes present in the game. Frankly, I forgot these existed. Any given combat upgrade is rendered meaningless by the inherrent low difficulty of the game. This isn't an insult to the game itself, branded LEGO™ games have been firmly planted in the casual catagory since 2005, but the new skill trees aim to improve an unbroken problem.

On the subject of half-baked mechanics, the game now also includes a meaningless choice system. On multiple occasions, you the player can choose to build either a stealth option or a combat option. For example, The first level of Episode 4 brings players to a hallway with two doors and two building options. The first is a turret facing a corridor full of Stormtroopers™, the other is an emptier corridor of conveniently the same length used to simply walk around the troopers. The only difference between the two is that the fighting option gives you a headstart, as the corridors both lead to the same room and the Stormtroopers™ are likely to spot you as you walk around behind them.

Everything has been gamified to comical levels. Opening a door requires inputting a password into a terminal, and getting that password requires going to a different terminal and finishing a button mash minigame. After the 50th "Rotate the Wheels" puzzle, I found myself missing the good old days when R2D2 used to just open the door all on his own like a big boy.

Not all changes are for the worse, however. Some of the core upgrades take the place of what were once extras, things such as Stud Magnets or faster build speeds. The concept of a whole universe sandbox also is a fun one. I always enjoy when Star Wars™ games acknowledge the huge universe of planets and it would be great traveling around them all if not that every planet has the same thing to offer, which is more collectables.

Despite the majority of this review being negative, I don't actually hate LEGO™ Star Wars™. Sometimes I enjoyed it, sometimes I was bored by it. I mostly just found the similarities between my attitude towards this game and my attitude towards the new trilogy to be interesting. I would definitely recommend only finishing the story mode though, collecting everything optional would be an act of self harm.

0/10, should have just made the game about A New Hope and The Last Jedi.

My opinion on this game has soured the more that time has passed. It looks nice sure, very pretty graphically for a Lego game. This game is a mile wide and a puddle deep. All of the redesigns of the old missions from the Complete Saga are shorter, unintuitive and lack all of the charm it originally had. It feels like the devs focused too hard on making this an open-world game rather than focusing on what made the Complete Saga so beloved. Not all level designs are bad, but they really could've been better and pale in comparison to what they used to be. I honestly think the game would've been marginally better if they just copy-pasted many of the old levels.

The open-world is bland and uninteresting to explore. Yes there's hidden secrets, and different characters you unlock can interact with the world differently, but it gets boring really quickly.

Such a disappointing game that had so much potential.

Score: 72

so far i have spent 2.5 hours just trying to 100% the gungan city and its pretty baller. best part so far is that nostalgia cant even make me prefer the older games, this game feels so fucking nice to play that its my favorite lego game now

what the fuck is Elden Ring a new Lego Star Wars game is dropping

It is really hard for me to rank this game like this. But this game is just a catastrophe. I've been a "hardcore" lego games player since Lego Star Wars (ep IV-VI) from PS2 and I have no idea why this game exists. So, you like lego games because you destroy a lot of bricks and build new things? You won't find this here. You like lego games because the story missions have puzzles, challenges and funny stuff? You won't find this here. Every, I've said EVERY main story level is basically the same: you run to a point, press confirm, watch a cutscene, run to another point, kill few enemies, watch another cutscene, confirm, end, credits. Every. Single. Time. The only good part about this game is the number of characters and planets.

I'm down to plattinum this sh*t, but this game is not worth the price.

the three year long wait time was absolutely worth it

It's so good! It's so good! They nailed getting the tone of the original lego star wars games right while still updating the gameplay for a modern audience. Combat slaps and the broader uses for the force are so fun.

And the graphics... ah. :O. They look so good and the animation has so much character.

The only problem I have is that they made many f the story cut scenes much shorter which makes the story move at a much stranger pace then it would otherwise have been.

Most of this review is from before 100 percent completion but still completely applies.
It's good, but I can't say I like it more than Complete Saga. So so many factors go into why, but I'm just going to make an "abridged" review here (yes, this is the abridged).

One, the levels take a backstage to the open world. The open world has minimal improvement from previous installments, but has a larger amount of quests, causing it to continue having the same problems of repetition and uninteresting gameplay that the previous LEGO games have had.

Two, bugs are a pretty common occurrence. Not usually game breaking ones, but noticeable ones. Again, nothing new to the LEGO (and Traveller's Tales) scene.

Three, following up on the level design, it's arguably not an improvement on Complete Saga's. I will say that things like the lightsaber combat and star ship battles are much more fun, but things like cover shooting, quick time events and the bloated amount of walking from place to place aren't as great.

Those are my biggest issues. I have smaller nitpicks, including strange music choices (like the Naboo chase music during Dooku's battle), but they're not things that I expect anyone else to care about. I know this sounds like a pretty lengthy rant, but there are plenty of good things about the game.

The comedy is spot on. Cutscenes have even more charm than the Complete Saga ones did. Lightsaber duels, again, are awesome. If you've got a friend it's a lot of fun to play around in the hubs. Speaking of friends, puzzle quests are great for them. If there is one thing I loved about the open world it was the puzzle challenges. They are the most creative part of the game and perfect for co-op.

The worlds are beautiful. A lot of them reminded me of layouts from Battlefront 2, which were equally as beautiful. The characters themselves now are modeled to look like actual minifigures, so they have more toy-like features, and particles of snow or sand can get caught on their capes or headpieces. Poses and animations for the characters are more unique than ever before, I absolutely loved watching the different ways Jedi would swing their lightsabers.

It's kind of hard for me to rate this game at all, I'm very mixed on the overall quality of it. But I will definitely say that tons of passion went into it and it's worth a try if you've got some time to kill and a friend to do it with.

EDIT AFTER MASTERY: Wayyyy more bugs than I originally thought. Ones that stick with you permanently as well. Almost believed I was completely hardlocked multiple times. As I expected, there is nothing really rewarding about going for 100 percent, nor is than any actual reward for doing so (unless you count the trophies). With all the reused missions and terrible loading times, it's just not worth the effort.

bizarre as it sounds, it’s probably the most fleshed out and expansive star wars galaxy in a game since probably KOTOR.
as a lego game, it’s one of the very best

this game is kind of literally everything i wanted it to be,
pretty different from other lego games, it is way more focused on the open world stuff, and that stuff is awesome. probably the best open world star wars game ever made as well, there has never been another star wars game to let you explore the locations where them movies take place like this one. the collectable finding part of this game is also insanely addictive and cool.

Not finished with all episodes yet, but I feel like I can already give a review.

tl;dr: Good experience for people who played the oldschool games, but also for younger gamers who discover a Lego: Star Wars game for the first time. But it has some flaws that personally annoy me.

Damn, the nostalgia kicks in. If you played the original Lego: Star Wars games in your childhood, this game feels like a dream coming true. Modern combat, very good graphics and overall a really polished experience.

BUT, for personally, the "open world" approach doesn't work out. Although it's nice to explore an area for a bit, I never felt the motivation to actually grind again through the levels. I would have liked it more in the classic way, with more elaborated levels.

Also, the cutscenes and story in general are very short, you will experience big jumps between the scenes. That might also be because of the open world approach, but sometimes it feels a little too fast for me.
And what also bothers me is the german voiceover. Some voices are decent and sound really good, and others feel like low-budget randoms who decided to speak a few words because they were asked to.

Zenith of the medium

A cultural reset

the best lego game hands down
i only played the phantom menace but it was great altho i didnt really like the pod race (didn't like it in the complete saga either)
i also ran into a bug where i couldn't do anything so i had to restart the game and redo the section, which didn't take long but it was still :/
