Very polished and satisfying Metroidvania game. Really enjoy the characters and world of Shantae, especially due to how sharp the writing is. Gameplay's very reminiscent of typical Metroidvanias, but it does what it does very well. Bit on the easy side, but I can always impose more self-challenges on the game. Very upbeat and catchy soundtrack. The pacing throughout each of the worlds does get pretty repetitive though. Overall, a great game and I'll keep my eye out for future Shantae games

8 Horas.

The third game in the Shantae series of games, and a personal favorite. The Shantae games are usually known for being easy
2D platformers (except the first one on GameBoy Color), and this one was no exception. While it may be too easy for some,
it's still and enjoyable search-action type game, with really fun unlockable moves like the speed boots and quad jump cannon.
The story is also pretty neat, acting as a direct follow-up the second game (Risky's Revenge), with a bunch of cute and
funny dialogue. I'd say my only real gripe with the game is there is a lot of back tracking to previous areas, which is a
given in search-action games, but at least traversing old areas with new power-ups is fun.

due to horny, Shantae is somehow a series - but it has a problem. the problem is that Shantae is kinda bad? the main gimmick of transforming is a total pace-breaker and nothing about its world or characters are very, uh, written. at all. playing the stories and dialogue of these games feel like trudging through rejected scripts from a strange Canadian cartoon time forgot, ones from the third season that only make sense with the rest of the show. the series feels like an afterthought, like nothing in it was ever planned out beyond the characters being hot and boobies. EXCEPT for this one, actually. it's fun! i can't tell you a single goddamn thing that happened in its narrative or what anything in it was but it was fun. mostly fun because it cripples Shantae's powers, inadvertently making her far more powerful and fun to play as. the pacing is good, the music is great, and sometimes that's all you really need.
