I wasn't keen on this for a long time as I mainly played the SNES version which had a weird freeze (apparently for asset decompression) at round starts. I didn't have a PS1/Saturn of my own and arcades were dead so it was a long time before I grew to appreciate it. I'd like to play it a lot more tbh.

A fighting game with a wonderful art style, great character selection, and super fun system mechanics. This game brought forward some of the best SF characters, like Nash, Rose, and Sakura. The custom combo mechanic is super fun and really lets you be creative with how you play. I really love this game and think it's one of the best SF games.

It greatly improves upon Warrior's Dreams and up until this point in the franchise it's the best one. It's a lot of fun to play but I don't like how from fighter 2 to 3, there's a gigantic jump in difficulty, or it's just me I'm not sure.

Ápice da saga SF alpha, gameplay agradável ate hoje, bom elenco, nome gráficos, boas músicas e cenários, é um jogo excelente e que melhorou tudo que precisa ser melhorado do alpha original.

Buen balance entre mecanicas ofensivas y defensivas, interesante roster y el neutral es muy similar a lo ya visto en Super Turbo pero con retoques para no volver cosas como las fireballs muy predominantes. El Street Fighter Anime mas solido y por lo tanto mi preferido

One of the best Street Fighter games ever made. Characters, soundtrack, stages, everything was on point, and feels a lot better to move around in than Alpha 3.

It has been a really long time since I played this game. I don't remember it too well. I remember it being really smooth to play. I prefer the roster and story of Alpha 3, but the gameplay here is really tight from what I recall.
A lot of the character feel samey, but what we have a game with appealing graphics, and tight game play. The custom combo system feels more grounded in this version, and the air blocking make it feel like you get more breathing room.
essentially a vertical improvement in every way over alpha 1. alpha 1 had a low character roster, certain characters needing codes to input, bison being way too difficult. in alpha 2, all have been improved. now there's a wider swathe of characters to pick from, the characters that needed codes are just flat out available, and i'm not sure if bison was either nerfed or just had his AI adjusted (my cursory google searches didn't give me a definitive answer) but either way he's much more doable here. overall it's a very tight package. everything positive i feel about alpha 1 applies to alpha 2, just with a lot less downsides here. this is one of the best early fighting games you could play.
plus, they brought back zangief, my bisexual husband, and that by itself deserves a half a star.

Alpha 2 sempre me impressionou pelos seus belíssimos gráficos, apesar de eu nunca ter me importado tanto em treinar e competir.
snes version bad
It certainly is more of an expansion of the first game, but I'm also aware that there is a gold version of this game as well, which would be a better choice if you really are inclined to pick Street Fighter Alpha 2 over 3. For the most part, it's just more of the same; which is a little sad considering how much King of Fighters improved their backgrounds compared to street fighter. Really feels like a madden situation.

Very solid street fighter with a good roster. I prefer Alpha 3 since it has Karin and 3rd Strike since it has better style and gameplay but Alpha 2 was still a fun time.
I played the "alpha 2 gold", but ok, is a good game and fun to play

É um puta avanço do Alpha 1. O jogo é bem mais rápido, tem bem mais personagens (INTRODUZ A SAKURA), OST é uma das mais icônicas da série inteira, os cenários novos são ESPLÊNDIDOS e os custom combos são incríveis, uma pena que tiraram os chain combos :(
