dying light but more fun for me

The Good:
- Parkour was fun. It could be frustrating at times as you get snagged on things. The vertical climbing also could have been smoother, but you actually had to think about traversal here unlike some other games <cough> Ubisoft <cough>
- Hacking and slashing was well done. The grisly gore physics never got boring
- Gameplay in general is fine. I've not played the first game so the day/night cycle and how you need to adapt playstyle felt unique

The Bad:
- Aiden may be the most boring protagonist of all time
- Repetitive missions and not much variety in the open-world
- The game gives the illusion of choice, but nothing you do matters. You can literally make it your mission to go full genocidal maniac against one of the factions and it won't change the game other than an occasional disapproving comment
- The game is broken. I can put up with roughness around the edges, but in 14hrs of playtime I've glitched out twice and currently have 3 side missions in my journal that are non-completable. It's crazy to me that this has been out for nearly 3yrs and there's still glaring bugs

Overall there's a decent game in here somewhere but execution is severely lacking. A big missed opportunity

After so long we finally were able to put our hands on continuation of really well received story about parkour and zombies surrounded by atmospheric Turkish post apocaliptic city. This story tho takes place few years later after new outbreak of the virus have turned the world upside down. Also climate changed, because now instead of not so typical country to chose to set game in we got typical, bland city of (probably) western europe.
Fighting with zombies and parkour both practicly not touched and good - the first one was standing well on technical side of the project and it was good decision to stay that way. Both parkour feels smooth and natural, and fight still is simple, bloody and hella satisying altho maybe too easy very fast after discovering the loot in the city.
Speak of the devil - the loot. Scattered in every one corner of the city, in the locations basicly copy-pasted with unlimited loot, randomly generated every fucking time. Activities that were killing the feeling of progress by how they weren't fading away after completion, repeated every single time was ruining the fun of clearing the map - so I gave up. Did some side quests, probably even most of them and I feel justified to say that they are booooooring. Even with every one of them backed with simple backstory they were lacking some depth and more interesting ideas to present.
Both side and main quests are filled with choices and unfortunetly most of them just doesn't matter and feel dull, even if they are important (which is really hard to miss) they are incredibly easy to predict what will happen in their outcome. The plot, as in the previous entry of the Dying Light duology, is really simple. And these choices are trying to make it feel even a little bit better. But it's just not enough to make it feel actually better than "alright".
If talking about some thing that were better than just "alright" we need to talk about something worse than "alright". And if said about mindless looting there is another elephant in the room - skill tree and equipment. Both very usefull at the beginning but after about 10 hours you come to realization that none of them are actually important in any way. Skills are useless and system of weapons and armor is very weak. It feels unnecessary. Very similiar case to the newer intries of Assassin's Creed franchise. Uncecessery changes that would need much more work than it was given to them.
And that's how it is with Dying Light - classical parts of the series are well preserved but was much less satisying because of live-service-bullshit.

cant speak for it at launch but I enjoyed playing this one today!! its super fun lots of choices and fun parkour!!

Not as good as the first one

Everything about this game is vastly inferior to the original. Force dialogue that sucks ass, terrible rpg mechanics, NO ZOMBIES like at all. The best part about the game was tormenting NPCs with my friends and the hilarious glitches. only giving this 3 stars cuz funmy glitches

Dying Light 2 is just... painfully mid.
Maybe it's me just being unhappy at the moment but the gameplay just isn't that fun until after you finish the story (which sucks btw). The characters and story are still painfully bad, and there's no amount of updates that can fix that. The store is frankly really stupid and the new(ish) bounties and mission systems are super grindy and tedious. They finally added guns! Hooray, right? Unfortunately not. All the guns besides the basic pistol are locked behind incredibly grindy bounty missions and it might have been the absolute worst way to implement them. It's also still super buggy (on PS4, at least). All I can say is that the graphics look a lot better and the Tolga & Fatin mission is kinda cool.

Overall, really fucking disappointing.

Ok so, at the time of this writing, the game is still a technical mess. Lots of random bugs and annoyances pretty much everywhere, but, I'm still going to recommend it.

If you played the original Dying Light, it feels pretty much the same, but with enhanced gameplay mechanics. All of the new mechanics are really fun and fairly intuitive to use. Paragliding in particular is awesome, and with the right upgrades, you can basically fly semi-permanently. This game is also a really fun coop experience.

Also similar to the original, the story pretty much plays out like most action movies. It's predictable and most of the choices kinda don't matter until the very end. Like I mentioned earlier, the game is a technical mess, from random little annoyances to getting locked out of certain collectibles. It also ran relatively poorly, even on my 3700X and RTX 3080.

Ultimately, it's enjoyable if you don't play for the story and are okay with bugs and lower graphics for higher performance.

i cant ever get into it + it somehow pales in comparison to 1 so... yea i gave up on it
very, very dissapointing

It was a good game man...although it had many flaws and bugs, I liked it overall.
I wish I knew only to go after the main quest and a couple of side ones though and not waste so much time on it lol
It got repetitive at points, long, impossible at some challenges and the parkour is so complex that it gets very buggy and tricky, it's not as fun as the first one.
In terms of the story, it was good, maybe a bit rushed, I wish they focused more on the actual script than the choices consequences and shit, saying this although I got the good ending but man I had to roll back like 4 hours of gameplay cause I thought I accidentally killed Hakon
If you wanna play it do it, but don't focus too much on every side quest, the DLC is worth it in my opinon, a fun distraction.

DL2 is an interesting one, it started off quite weak due to it's launch having various bugs and performance issues that tanked a large majority of people's enjoyment of the game however, similar to Cyberpunk once those bugs were cleared up what was left was a very phenomenal game. Of course I won't say DL2 is nearly as good as Cyberpunk's story or combat but it was certainly a special game, the VNC tower in specific was an amazing mission & the peak of the parkour/story combo that with the solid replay potential and the game ends up being quite nice

Played it in 2024. Used the internet to get rid of the RPG shit in the settings and make it look the closest to the first game as possible. Had the time of my life. In different settings I understand if some people liked it less

There's not much to say about this one except that it's very generic and quite boring.

это не такая крутая как первая потому что нет этого вот ну вот адреналина такого нет больше от зомбаков, но зато крутые механики с паркуром вообще корчое можно побегать покайфовать с друзьями супер.......
боссы гавнище кстати еще

A game that starts great but does kinda wear thin after a bit. You get some cool gear to whip around the city, but in the end a lot of the stuff you do can feel pretty much the same. I still had a ton of fun for about 75% of the game, and a decent amount of a fun for the rest of it.

The developers are extremely active, this game is unrecognizable from year to year, so it is difficult to speak about the gameplay here. As of 2024, the parkcour has been refined to the point of being the best in the AAA sphere in my opinion. The zombie fighting is visceral and fun, while the human combat is unwieldy and tiresome.
The story and characters, however have always been lackluster.

Aşırı gereksiz eleştirilmiş oyun. Oynanış harika, vuruş hissi masterclass, karakterler iyi, hikaye ucuz

I can't say that this is the best game. I can't say she's bad. She's just good.

A project that has been in production hell, and then received a lot of updates, and that's what we see in front of us. A project that I will definitely close 100% because I like it. I like it very much.

It was a good walkthrough. And I'm not staying in Villedor any longer.

Honestly. you expect more from the game, but in the end everything slips where it should be interesting, the wow effect disappears after an hour of play, a billion bugs and nauseating combat.

Very disappointed with this one...

Coming from the first game, which was incredible and innovative, this one was a let down in every way.

Pretty much everything was a downgrade. Parkour was floaty, combat was boring, the world felt like an arcade rather than a zombie apocalypse. The story was okay at best, and the last mission might be the worst mission I've every played lol.

Story sucks but the gameplay makes up for it

Now you can even drop kick friendly ppl out of high buildings. Fun.
