It is what it is, which is an animated, interactive Where's Wally book with some breather minigames between pages. It's not often I felt like cracking one of those open and finding every little secret admittedly, but given how busy I've personally been lately, it's been the perfect thing to mentally wind down to! Very much recommended if you want to stare at a screen and click on things for a while, but much like the books it draws inspiration from, don't expect much to do after every folk has been unveiled? Can't imagine anyone expecting anything less, though...
A little too self-impressed for it's own good (and for its young target audience), “Hidden Folks” is nonetheless a virtuoso homage to hidden object puzzles; think “Highlights” magazine writ large. Animated details make the vast landscapes teem with life, both beckoning to and distracting from your scavenger hunt. The a cappella sound effects are hilarious and spot-on. If you share with your kids, nieces, or nephews (and you definitely should), you WILL end up buying the DLC.
Now this is a Hidden Object game done well! High quality hand-drawn art and uhhh mouth-made sounds? Eitherway, it's funny and entertaining. This is essentially Find Waldo without an annoying Waldo, instead you're finding various things in various themed areas. There's a lot of easter eggs and interacting outside of just finding objects, you can spend hours finding new stuff everywhere.
I also like that after the release of the game, the devs made more maps; where one was released earlier this year! It'll be fun to see future games from the developer as well; hoping to support them more in the future :)
Recommended for fans who like puzzles, hidden objects or are just tired of finding the same Waldo all the time!

I love this game. It's a hidden object game with lots of character and it's made with lots of love. I can't wait to see what the team will create in the future.
Just remember to rest your eyes while playing this one. I foolishly played three hours straight and I can feel some eye strain. Only bummer, but I should be resting my eyes more often anyhow.

It was alright.
The maps in this game are massive and hints aren't always helpful so it can be really difficult and tedious to figure out where to look for hidden folks. Finding some folks requires you to interact with background elements which can be fun but what you can and can't interact isn't always obvious. so you might be clicking all over the map to see what sticks and what doesn't.
Smaller maps is where it shines the most, they always have some clever puzzle going on which feels rewarding to figure out. There weren't as many of them as big maps but they smaller ones were easily the highlight for me.
With better hint system this could have been really fun but it ended up being decent enough.

Fun to play and funny to watch and interact with, but also quite tiresome, more than I care to admit.
Hidden Folks achieves what could have never been done on paper, but falls short when trying to impress the player with huge maps full of the smallest things possible to find, and most of these followed by obtuse hints. The first few levels are a joy to play, but it starts to get annoying fast, especially towards the end. The pure white backgrounds doesn’t help either, which constantly lead me to eye strains and a bit of dizziness.
It was worthwhile enough to play, though. An easy pick for any Apple Arcade subscriber. Give it a try, and try playing it with friends, family or your significant other.

All levels completed; 100% of achievements earned. Hidden Folks is a really charming, entirely hand-drawn, 'hidden object' type game, very much in the style of the Where's Wally books. The gameplay is largely based around searching for distinctive people and objects within a series of typically large and complex scenes, grouped according to themes such as snow, desert and forest - but the game remains compelling despite the apparently simple mechanics. Each scene features a lot of interactivity based around clicking on elements within it, from digging holes and parting trees/bushes, to operating switches with a variety of functions, to an extent far in excess of elements that relate directly to the target people/items - the care and attention lavished on the game is clearly evident throughout. The search for your targets is made more interesting by each being accompanied by a short text clue to their location, lending a puzzle-like feeling to many of them - while asmall handful of levels are actually full-blown puzzles rather than the usual people/object search. All told, a really great game.
Fun little search and find game kind of like Where's Waldo. Interactive things to play with as well as all the sounds make it fun even when you are spending sometimes hours on a single map. Only thing I would wish to see in the future is a full color search and find game as the black/white only aesthetic 1. gets boring after a while 2. personally hurts my eyes to stare at for a longer period of time. Overall very fun and got a lot more out of it than I thought I would.
