I don't have much to reference this game to because I only played Wild World on DS when I was much younger, but it's a super fun game. Came out at the perfect time and it was at it's best when you had a community of friends to play with. One thing that is super fucking annoying and seems super unnecessary was the fact that there's extra steps to transfer your island save data if you buy a new Switch. I did not realize that and lost all of my data, so my 80+ hours of gameplay gone and I will never play this one again.
got me into games, Love It 𓆣ִ ࣪⋆â’˚。⋆
i struggled with lack of novelty a couple hundred hours into my second island so i've put the game on a halt. creo que a la peña le mola seguir currándoselo para coseguir pagar toda la hipoteca y las herramientas de oro y todo eso pero creo que ese juego no me interesa tanto. me gustarÃa completar el museo tho ·~· hmmm
shelved but will play again... might start a third island from scratch¿ maybe i could get the expansion... will see

Some good additions to New Leaf (terraforming!) but the characters have better personalitites in NL and in general I tend to prefer NL's "simpler" game loop.
It feels like NL was made to be played in short sessions every day for the rest of your life, while New Horizons was made to be binged and "completed" by playing it as much as possible as fast as possible. Which to be fair, even if it was true, would probably have been the correct choice for the COVID era. I just prefer NL personally!

this is the first animal crossing game that i've really become invested in, and it's a lot of fun! there comes a point where it's seriously repetitive and from what i've seen it lacks a lot of cool features games like new leaf had, but i still have a good time playing. they really fumbled by stopping the updates so early....
lots of quality of life features to appreciate like the much more diverse/accessible character creator, plus the aesthetics and customization are great! but there is still much i have to criticize about the game, unfortunately. though it has all the basic pieces one would expect from an animal crossing game, like a town hall or a clothing store or a museum, comparing it to previous entries does make it feel like it's missing a few stuff. the drip-feed style of content additions did not do it any favors. like, the art exhibit being added in a post-launch update was kind of ridiculous. but even now, when the game is in its "completed" state, it still feels like only the bones of an animal crossing game are found here without much meat to dig into, especially if you are not interested in town customization and more into town simulation and roleplaying. while i more favor the former, i think new horizons went too far in favoring customizing the town over actually living in it, and i hope future entries don't follow too closely in its structure.
still, the 200+ hours i put into this game were not wasted ones, in my opinion. the expansion pass is well worth the money and my main reason for returning (again, i like decorating!)
