Take me on home to the asylum,
Never alone in the asylum
Anarchy ruled,
It was wild!
But through it all,
You never smiled
Joke’s on you,
I’m in your head
Look who’s laughing now!

Remember in Arkham City?
I killed your girl, so… pretty.
That was the night you let me die,
But when you looked me in the eye
That’s when I knew we’d be together,
Look who’s laughing now!

I’m stuck in your head and I’m laughing,
I fill you with dread, and I can’t stop laughing,
Your parents are dead, and I can’t stop laughing! HAHAHAH
What else can I do?
Now I’m part of you!

I am the clown prince of crime,
And we’ve had a hell of a time!
you’re part of me,
I’m part of you
Now there’s nothing we can’t do!
I can’t wait till I’m in control
Who’ll be laughing then?

I drove you round the bend and I’m laughing,
I’m with you till the end, and I can’t stop laughing,
I killed all your friends and I can’t stop laughing! HAHAHAH

Oh yeah!

Think I can taste your fear,
Now that my time is near
I’m in your blood, I’m so alive,
I only wish you’d let me drive
It won’t be long till I make you kill
Who’ll be laughing then?

Barbara’s dead, and I’m laughing,
Jason Todd’s dead, and I can’t stop laughing,
I’m even dead and I can’t stop laughing HAHAHAH
What else can I do?
Now I’m part of you.

I drove you round the bend and I’m laughing
I’m with you till the end, and I can’t stop laughing
I killed all your friends and I can’t stop laughing! HAHAHAHA
I’m cock-a-doodle-do!
All because of you.

I’m stuck in your head and I’m laughing
I fill you with dread, and I can’t stop laughing
Your parents are dead, and I can’t stop laughing! HAHAHA

I’m stuck in your head and I’m laughing,
I fill you with dread, and I can’t stop laughing,
Your parents are dead, and I can’t stop laughing!
What else can I do?

Now I’m part of you.

Perhaps we treated you too harshly

If this game had the same dialogue structure as Ballad of the N Word, it would be a 10/10

The Arkham series has some of the greatest games ever made and Arkham Knight is my favorite. IT's the best Batman game and one of the best video games ever in my opinion. The graphics still hold up almost a decade later, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill continue to give amazing performances, the combat from the previous games has been perfected, the alternate outfits are great, and the story is really good. Some people didn't like the Batmobile sections but I didn't mind them and even liked a few. The debate on which Batman game is the best is between Arkham City and this and I think that Arkham Knight is the clear winner thanks to its combat and graphics.

Batman shoots non-lethal tank missiles at human enemies. Yeah that checks out.

the jonkler is in man's head... is he stupid?

The graphics jump from Arkham City to Arkham Knight was actually insane. And being able to control as the Batmobile was so cool. The roster of villains is also peak.

Batman Arkham knight rocks its fun, gorgeous, and absolutely phenomenal but I don't think it's perfect. A severe lack of boss fights mixed with the fact that the Batmobile is not fun to control sometimes but its still great.

Overview:
I am conflicted about this game. I think that the visual style, incredible style of storytelling, and numerous borderline-flawless dives into the human psyche while using Joker as its medium are osme of the best things I've ever seen in gaming. However, I really struggled to play this game. The gameplay felt incredibly janky, i was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of dumb button prompts i had to memorize, and the enemy variety was so repetitive, it started to feel like a rhythm game by the end. I also hated trying to stealth enemies, as there was little-no actually competent stealth mechanics, and it was always confusing whether or not the enemies actually could see me. Take notes from dishonored 2. The puzzles/ random side objectives were also bafflingly frustrating and slow to finish. They didn't make me feel smart, I just felt more dumb and like it was wasting my time. However, I reaaaaaally enjoyed the story, characters (particularly harley ifyky), and I love the sequences that brought themselves up pertaining to Batman's sickness. The narrative was captivating for the entire length of the game, and I dreaded having to play, because I was excited to get back to the cutscenes. A special shoutout to the last mission, in this regard. Incredible mission, no spoilers... I also kept frothing over the visuals. It is INSANE TO ME that this game released in 2015 and still looks better than almost every other game to ever have been released. So, so, so beautiful. The city was breathtaking at all times, and I had a hard time NOT taking screenshots constantly. Also, about gameplay: I did enjoy the driving in the city. I thought that was the best gameplay this game had to offer. I also enjoyed when they switched up the formula, and kept it quick. For example, the mission where you teamed up with Robin, that was exciting for a while, and then dragged on too long. Everything in this game felt repetitive by the end of its runtime, even though I only played 13 hours.
Seriously though, I do really like this game, and I have to give it 4/5 stars for a really nice experience. It is excellent, and deserves a play from anyone who seems interested. I would have probably actually preferred a tv show with the same story, because I felt the GAMEplay of this GAME was the downside. Thank you for reading! Definitely comment if you want to have any discussion regarding this game.
Notes while playing:

Sights and Sounds:
- Incredibly Beautiful psuedo-realistic artstyle
- Not RDR2 Beautiful, but still genuinely breathtaking in its own way, especially for being released in (INSERT YEAR HERE)
- Satisfying sound design for the most part, but no notable music or general sounds
- Can't reiterate enough just how incredible the visual style really is

Gameplay:
- The fighting feels like an early version of spider-man's
- Definitely less smooth, enemy ai is terrible, models/ collision is a tad buggy
- But is cinematic, making you feel like a badass
- Often frustratingly janky
- Clearing out enemies and infiltrating enemy camps is repetitive, boring, and rarely interesting or rewarding
- Fun gameplay is in the car
- A stupid amount of dumb required mission objectives with little-no significance besides just taking up time : NOT FUN
- Makes you feel like batman
- Just a very cool looking and feeling game
- The car feels really nice and is quite fun
- tank missions get less and less fun over time
- The skill tree was overwhelming and too large, in my opinion (im a certified rpg-mechanic and skill tree hater though so my opinion may not be valid)
- Such an incredibly beautiful and dazzlingly intricate city environment
- Looks incredibly good flying around, although it doesn't feel so incredible
- Confusing button prompts sometimes, easy to forget all the different combinations of button presses
- Puzzles/ objectives were often unengaging, painfully linear, and had no room for any improvisation. Everything had to be done in a certain, way, which I was not the largest fan of

Narrative/Story/Characters:
- The mature tone lent a lot to the stakes and fleshed out the world nicely from the beginning
- The story takes some wild turns
- Is quite compelling for most of the runtime
- Joker is a brilliant addition to the game
- Provides comedic relief, interesting dialogue to listen to
- Also helps figure out puzzles in game when things aren't clear, as well as helping to explain some of the story
- Bad pacing
- Too much time spent staring at batman's wrist screen face-timing his colleagues
- Could've easily been voice calls meshed with gameplay
- Some incredible cutscenes/ set pieces throughout the game
- Particularly the sequences that happen when you are sick
- Incredible Joker sequence in second to last mission

Performance:
- From the get-go, has a bunch of really nice customizability options, as well as a pc test run mode where it allows you to see how the game will run
- Capped at 90 fps but not really a big deal
- Super nice quality of life options, like telling you how long ago your last save occurred
- Runs very well, no frame stutters, screen tears, and very minor graphical/textural bugs

One of the greatest games to come out as it holds up in 2024 in terms of graphics and gameplay. Also big jason todd fan

There is no other game like this.

Tanks still work well even though it feels out of left field.

But it's still the best Arkham game, gameplay wise.

To me this is the best arkham game hands down. The voice acting from all the main characters is top notch, whoever was voicing scarecrow deserves a raise. The amount of costumes you can use is just insane roleplaying as my favorite movie Batman’s was a treat. Like city this franchise just has refined itself and built on what the first two had, the combat is the best out of the trilogy, I thought I was going to hate the batmobile but ended up loving it, and then all your standard collectathons that were in your first two. The graphics were really good too. The only flaw and problem I had with it was it crashed constantly.

Arkham Knight is a tricky one, personally not the best in the series and it might never be, this game brings a lot of unique story dlcs and customization as well but it comes with A LOT of downsides.

Gameplay
The only melee boss that I can remember after finishing the game is Albert King, that's it really because the rest of the gameplay is with the batmobile and it gets repetitive fairly fast,it really feels like world of tanks and rocksteady had a collaboration. More than half of the bosses are being driven with the batmobile, atleast they added some stealth with the cobra tanks.
The second problem with the gameplay is the port himself, how can you mess this bad a freaking UE3 game running on a modern computer? like really yikes, it ran fairly good at 1080p high settings but the frame drops was felt, but other than that it ran more than 60 most of the times but the game lag the fuck out in batmobile chases for a reason.
Alright one good thing about this game is the graphics that saves a bit, it looks more spectacular than gotham knights and the latest release of suicide squad, they nailed the graphics too good for 2015 and it can't be beaten even by newer games.
There's a lot of side quests that includes DLCs with more characters because in the main story you will not frequently hear about two face or croc for example and to be honest the atmoshpere is great, the combat with the brutes or thugs is the same as asylum and city but it's even better if you do a double attack with robin, that feature rocks.

Story
After the death of joker and his burning body gotham is warned by scarecrow with his new toxin, moments after almost everyone evacuated the city and crane's militia surrounded the whole city.
Batman comes back and ready to stop him, with the help of oracle in the clocktower and jim at the GCPD he's well equipped with his new batmobile to take on the fight, but he stumbles upon poison ivy where she was at a meeting with scarecrow and batman takes her at the GCPD, while there he is being informed that he can track the toxin at the ace chemicals where he meets up with a new antagonist, the second one being the arkham knight, an anonymous masked villain well trained surprises batman but he escapes with his help of the batmobile and avoiding knight's helicopter. Later on chasing scarecrow he discovers that there's some of jokers blood into his system, so that combined the fear gas and make him see him through the whole story.
Later on oracle was kidnapped by crane and batman had to find her, after sometime he found her but it was too late, she shot herself behind the glass, this is where the story really gets interesting because batman could not forgive himself because gordon went hiding after he found out that his daughter was captured, batman could not tell him the truth because it was too painful, later on alfred informs batman about some kind of scientist that works with scarecrow and he gets into his blimp where scarecrow is located as well, the scientist ran away from batman and after that he found scarecrow but it was only a hallucination of him, batman was also helped by nightwing but he hold him to stay in bludhaven.
Batman found out that joker's virus infected more people, but only one was immune to it and that was henry adams, he discovered that with the help of poison ivy he can hold the toxin while her plants secure the zone.
Batman is being interrupted by harley quinn, she wants to avenge joker's death and she released the infected ones in the panessa movie studio, with the help of robin he needs to rescue them but they act back with violence, after taking care of chrstina bell, albert king and johnny charisma robin secures the bag and gets out.
But batman is hallucinating, he sees his former apprentice, jason todd. He sees himself tortured by joker and being asked about bats real identity, after that he comes back to life he takes harley with robin and puts her in a jail, robin finds out that batman isn't okay and he might be exposed to crane's gas and tries to lock him up but he failed and batman instead put him in jail.
After that he goes back outside but crane's cloudburst that spreads diseases was deployed, batman had to talk with ivy quickly to prevent this but alfred informs him about the scientist and he goes back into the blimp to simion stagg but he was exposed to crane's toxin and told batman that he can take some kind of cure that protects his car in the cloudburst, and so he took it and installed it into the car.
Time to protect ivy's plant, but in the other land is the arkham knight, with his new tank surrounded by cobra tanks, batman chases him and destroys his tank side by side but he gets hallucinated again and after he took the knight in his hands he got out.
Batman had to go underground to find another root to a plant to help ivy and so he did it but after he came back to her she died because she used all of her power to destory the cloudburst.
After that batman was informed that jim was taken, he head back to GCPD and got his location, after arriving he had to work with a ventilation shaft that was broken to reach jim gordon, but instead he found arkham knight while he chased batman underground.
Batman was surrounded by him and he had to sacrifice his car to get out, after reaching to jim the knight made another encounter but he revealed himself to be jason, furious of batman and dedicated to kill him he fights him and batman wins the duel and rescues gordon.
Gordon know that scarecrow is in the top of the building so he comes with batman to stop him but right after they reached the last floor they see oracle alive and jim betrayed batman to save his daughter, he had to make one choice but after he shot batman oracle was dropped off the building and batman saved her but gordon was taken as a hostage again.
Oracle and batman are now safely in the GCPD but the militia assaulted the station, after oracle helped batman taking care of the tanks and finding a new energy generator batman leaves to check on the movie studios where he finds out that robin was taken by crane as a hostage and had to make a quick choice to sell his sould to scarecrow.
Batman leaves and goes to crane's location and puts his equipment down and enters his van where he was taken to crane's place, while there he gets PTSD from the asylum with joker but once he arrives crane shows gordon and robin but he exposes batman's true idenity live, batman had to resist his toxin and he entered into some dreams with joker killing cobblepot, two face and destroying soldiers and right after that he gets outside where gotham is in flames.
Then his vision goes into a horror first person perspective where joker sees harley crying but right after he starts to shoot at stone building of batman and gets out but batman comes in and puts joker in jail.
Batman was immune, he defeated joker's remaining gas and he woke up where scarecrow was very surprised and right after he took a gun at batman's face jason helps batman get out and takes crane to the jail where the game ends, and now that everyone knows his true idenity he has to activate the protocol knightfall.

My favourite characters in DC comics are the various Robins so the fact that this game heavily involves them is such a win.

sigh ok... this game is very weird for me. I do think it's a really good game, even in spite of the overuse of the batmobile. But what really kills game for me is it's completion requirement, completing all of the side missions is one thing bur having to collect all the Riddler trophies is PAINFUL.

okay story, secondary antagonist should have been the only villian
too much vehicle combat, no deathstroke face off
satisfying ending for the bats

In this one Batman is evening the odds. I don't think well ever get anything close to what rocksteady did with the Batman games, I hope i'm wrong.

"I am vengeance! I am the night! I am Batman!"

This one was a little mixed at times, but, I enjoyed it much more than I disliked it - which is obvious judging by my rating!

There were moments where I just wasn't enjoying this game much, mainly in the Batmobile sections, which seem to be too long and too frequent, during the boss battles and numerous large fights and especially during the horrible navigation puzzles. I did enjoy driving from location to location, however, and during the smaller battles I was having fun, but I felt as if I was getting burnt out on them early on. On top of this, I found some of the levels were slightly too long and I found myself also wanting to just progress instead of being stuck in the same area for so long.

That being said, as with the previous entries, I absolutely loved the characters here. The story was so incredibly absorbing, too, diving deeper into a Batman who is losing his sanity, with an incredibly memorable ending. The visuals are still to this day just ridiculously good and gritty and look better than a lot of today's modern releases. The Arkham Knight is a brilliant villain, despite the reveal being predictable, with a great performance and incredible design.

The gameplay as Batman is fun, too, and although the combat still looks a little goofy to me with Batman flipping and flying around everywhere, it's really fun to play.

As a whole, then, this is a great finale to the Arkham Quadrilogy, but, it seems, isn't quite the end of the Arkham Universe... Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is up next. Which I will get to...eventually.

Arkham Knight is an insanely good game. It's stunningly gorgeous that it stands up to current PS5 releases, half a decade later. The environment of actual Gotham city is much bigger than even Arkham City. While I lament how 'samey' much of the map feels, it's certainly plenty distinct from the previous two mainline entries.

Arkham Knight delivers the same satisfying quick-paced combat as its predecessors while managing a fantastic end to the sprawling three-game narrative. The Joker's presence in the game is WILDLY COOL as a storytelling device. It's actually shocking to me how few games utilize a character in this manner. The writing is amazing, with main storybeats, like the death of Barbara Gordon, causing gasps and disbelief. The game weaves together interesting conundrums and explorations like getting Poison Ivy's assistance with the neurotoxin gas and raiding the airships of an evil capitalist dickwad to cure the city. Disparate locales and characters that are woven neatly into the fabric of the game's narrative in a way that feels difficult to explain after-the-fact even though you never question it in the moment.

The amount of side content is bananas as well. Riddler Trophies make their, sometimes annoying, return and a litany of missions with Catwoman, Nightwing, Man-Bat, The Mad Hatter, Azrael and even more fill the game to the brim. A cavalcade of comic book content that scratches all the right itches from completionist to collectathon to time trials to combat skill and even more than that. The game knocks almost everything out of the park.

The biggest drawback is the amount of time you spend in the goddamn Batmobile. The Batmobile content is rarely fun, mostly annoying, and really removes the feeling of being Batman. The game relies on it too heavily and although at times it makes perfect narrative and thematic sense, it's often simply not engaging or interesting. I almost took off a half star for it alone, but I felt that'd be unfair for how good the rest of the game is. How pleasing the game truly is. How fantastic the story is.

The DLC is just as good. A complete game top to bottom and a perfect finish to one of gaming's absolute best trilogies. An absolute joy to replay as well.
