Inicialmente, jogando somente pra dar uma olhada e no acabei me fissurando.

Absolutely loved the world, the aesthetic, the ambition of it. Only really qualm is that it loses a little bit of pace/direction after the big reveal.

Weirdly I went into playing this completely cold and not too sure what to expect. I assumed it would be more story-heavy and instead was present with a quirky but fun FPS which came with some strong narrative. The twist is worth playing for and the way the game progresses is satisfying as you gain more skills and upgrade yourself.

A really well-built and well-thought-out world, with plenty of variety in enemies and characters you meet and environments which you have to face. Glad I eventually played.

I chose... Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, Where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well.

Shame that the plot twist was spoiled for me

Bioshock: Rapture Below The Ocean

Bioshock is a game I've heard thrown around as one of those "must-play" games online. I didn't know anything about it, outside that the dude on the cover is called the Big Daddy. I got this game (alongside Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite) for free back when it was given away on the Epic Game Store, and it sitting in my backlog for some time. After playing it, diving deep into the world of Bioshock, exploring Rapture, and seeing where all the praise lies. Bioshock creates a unique setting, with it's take on a 1940s aesthetic, mixed with decopunk aesthetics as well.

Right away with the introduction, I was floored by the presentation of this game. It's been a while since I played a game that felt like it had its own aesthetic and style. And throughout my playthrough, its style and aesthetic kept feeling fresh. When you first go underwater and see the city of Rapture, you as the player just see the underwater city for what it is, as Andrew Ryan speaks, and you just do nothing but take in the scenery of Rapture. I love the introduction to this game so much, it feels perfectly paced, not too slow, not too explosive, but enough of a balance to serve to the player to keep playing throughout. In Bioshock, you take control as Jack, a passenger on a plane that crashes in the Atlantic Ocean. Jack is assisted through most of the game by Atlus via radio. Throughout your time in Rapture, you find plenty of different weapons and plasmids to use. As for weapons, they're kinda of a basic selection. You have a wrench to start out with, then later a pistol, then later a machine gun, and later a shotgun, and so on. The weapons do their part as weapons, but one of the unique gameplay elements Bioshock has is with the plasmids. Plasmids add so much gameplay variety to Bioshock, it wouldn't be the same game without them. The ones I mainly used throughout my playthrough were Electro Bolt, Incinerate!, and Telekinesis. It was fun to use these plasmids on enemies, and without them, Bioshock would be an average game without them. I enjoyed the gameplay, but at certain moments, it can feel generic, and sort of "sameish" for long periods. It's good gameplay, but not necessarily something to hold in high regard.

As for the story, this is where I heard most of the praise come from. For me, I found the story of Bioshock to be somewhat inconsistent when it came to holding my interest. On one hand, I was in love with the aesthetic of the game, and wanted to learn about Rapture and Andrew Ryan, but on the other hand, most of the story is told via dialogue from other characters via the radio in the middle of gameplay, and it's really hard to pay attention to it, when I was in an encounter with an enemy. I wished these story moments told via dialogue were told in a way that gameplay not interfere, so I could've been more immersed to its story. The story is divided into different levels, 15 in total. Each level felt like an episode in a mini-series, each level felt well passed, and don't overstay their welcome. Bioshock has these little girls roaming around the levels named "Little Sisters" and they are accompanied by a Big Daddy. After you defeat the Big Daddy, you can either rescue the little sister, turn them back into a normal human girl, and get ADAM, or harvest all of their energy, causing them to die, and get more ADAM. The little sisters play more of an important role in the story of Bioshock than being there to give you ADAM. If you rescue all but one little sister, you get the good ending, but if you harvest more than one little sister, you get the bad ending. In my playthrough, I rescued all the little sisters to get the good ending, because of course I went for the good ending. I found Bioshock's ending to be beautiful, I found it poetic, and understand why it's the canon ending, but because of that, I think this game would be one of the few games I would've preferred a voiced protagonist if done right.

Overall, I found Bioshock to be a pretty captivating game. Rapture and it's tone and presentation show it's unique beauty. Gameplay is enjoyable, though bland in some cases, and the story is well executed for what it was going for. I heard that the remastered version is disliked by the Bioshock community after I beated it, because of performance. I was able to play on 4K with 120 FPS without any issue. It is a PS3/360 game for of course it's no issue for my PC, but I can understand how it may be on the console ports. I look forward to getting towards Bioshock 2 later in my backlog, I'm interested to try out Bioshock Infinite afterwords, due to how divisive it is.

An insanely good game with great world building, visuals, and maybe the best setting in any game ever. The combat feels kinda dated and feels boring near the end, but that doesn't take away from the amazing narrative and immersion of this title.

Rapture is the best setting for any videogame

Legendary game from a legendary year in gaming. Not much to fault it for, has a pretty good story with a classic twist, memorable characters, wide range of weapons and abilities for different playstyles, an amazing collection of music in the soundtrack that fits the time period the game takes place in, and a system that takes player choice into account (affecting the ending). Only things I can really criticize are the combat system feeling a little clunky having to switch entirely between plasmids and guns, the hacking system took a bit too much time away from the main action, and the game was not too hard even on the higher difficulty settings. Alternate game modes were not too crazy, but added some more content to keep me invested in the game.

The definitive remake of Pipe Dream, also known as Pipe Mania, originally released on the Amiga in 1989. It also includes a neat minigame where you shoot people.

voce encarecidamente poderia fuma maconha? kkkkkkkkkkk aiiaiaiaii papai

I haven't played the original so I'm not sure how good the improvement to the visuals are with this remaster. But the game is very enjoyable. The world and story is very immersive and keeps you engaged even with certain filler parts that have been clearly added to increase the length of the game.

One of my absolute favorite first person shooters as well as one of the best video game stories ever conceived an incredible triumph in video game design. I fucking love Bioshock end of story.

"I've never been one to question providence."

Having played Bioshock perhaps a squintillion or more times previously, getting to play this game with someone unfamiliar with it's twists is simply wonderful, all the joy of the reveal while getting to see the magician set up it's tricks all throughout.

Bioshock enraptures (hehe) you from the get go, presenting you with a madman's giant gold statue who apparently doesn't see the irony in headlining this monument of ego with "No Gods or Kings". It eloquently demonstrates what's in store for you, which is a cavalcade of insane people who just so happen to be infinitely charismatic. Andrew Ryan and his underwater insane asylum are so richly engrossing and untapping the history of Rapture and it's downfall is always engaging, helped along by listening to old audio logs of some of Rapture's worst, and somehow, every now and then going, "Well, yeah, I suppose that's a reasonable thing to say given the circumstances"

That's how this game really gets it's spliced claws in you, everything and everyone is believable, you might think a man who built capitalist Atlantis was a megalomaniac, and you'd be correct, but by the end of it you at least understand WHY Andrew Ryan did what he did and where he went wrong, some of the audio logs are just so excellently written they had me grinning from ear to ear.

It's gameplay has aged quite well, I believe it could do better with some of it's weapon-swapping and balancing to really utilise every weapon (something Bioshock 2 improves on) but fights are always satisfying, mostly thanks to a surprisingly versatile set of AI who always seem to be dynamically responding to you, or at least are giving off the sufficient illusion that they are.

Of course, it's hacking system is a bit of a dud (again, addressed and resolved in the sequel but more on that when I finish it), sure it's fun to play pipe mania once or twice but it wears thin pretty much immediately after that, and I think the game almost acknowledges this by throwing auto-hacks galore at you in the final act.

This games worst attribute however is it's morality system and endings, something that's been spoken about multiple times since it's release. Choosing whether or not to murder a child isn't really an interesting choice to make, and it's not helped by the fact that Rescuing them gives you plenty of ADAM anyway, I was never starving for it and got pretty much every upgrade I wanted with no hassle. If it wanted to make it more of an interesting choice it should really give you about a quarter of the ADAM and make it that much more valuable, maybe then I'd be tempted to harvest one or two, because the "Bad Ending" certainly isn't worth it.

Farklı bir oynanış ve farklı bir atmosfer.Oyunun atmosferi gayet gerici.

"NO GODS OR KINGS. ONLY MAN."

Somewhere, beneath the sea, there lies an Atlantic apocalypse just waiting to be explored. This game embodies a sense of "relaxed badassery" as I like to dub it. The customization that the plasmids offer you allows for so many ways to for you to adjust your journey into Rapture. It also has a sense of importance regarding the ability for one to make your own choice. The story is fantastic too, with some clever political tie-ins too. I like the commentary that the superpowers can provide and the aesthetics never get old just looking at them. It is another treasured FPS experience to behold, even several replays later.

A classic survival horror shooter!

BioShock is one of those games that's just dripping with mood and atmosphere. The world building and lore is interesting and it has one of the best and most effective plot twists in the gaming genre. The old timey feel combined with the retro soundtrack adds a genuine other worldly level of creepiness to the proceedings. This is like the closest we've ever gotten to a Shining type game. The exaggerated art style also adds a dark fairytale element to it all.

The combat is fine. I would say its one of the lesser aspects especially the melee system. The weapons are serviceable to use here but the plasmids are what separate it from other shooters. Electro Bolt, Incinerate and Winter Blast are easily my go-to when fighting off enemies. Electrocuting and frying a splicer in water is so satisfying.

As for flaws. The goddamn security cams/turrets/bots. They are so annoying and not fun at all. Easily the worst part for me. It also just gets a bit overwhelming at times. You'll be trying to listen to an audio log or reload then all of a sudden will just get jumped by like three splicers or something combined with security bots on your ass etc. because you've accidently set off an alarm.

This remaster also crashed quite a few times for me which was frustrating.

Now "Would You Kindly?" make another BioShock game!

on hold because i didn't feel like continuing it...

This might be the most glazed game of all time but that doesn't stop it from having one of the coolest worlds in any game period, accompanied by beautiful visuals and great mechanics that only suck in the latter half of the game when half the enemies are bullet sponges and getting more than 30 bullets for each encounter is a blessing

Fantastic world building, setting and gameplay.
