gets half a star for Route D being really cool, almost all the other routes/endings are kinda whatever, without even mentioning how much of a slog the main core gameplay is.
If i had no other games to play this game might be worth it but fortunately i have plenty to play and replay. Great story and art direction, horrible as a game.

So I came into this after playing the second game (which I can still replay even now) can't say the same for this one, I remember I got up to Chapter 9 and peaced out after that.
And well in the second game Caim didn't make a great first impression, and that kind of soured my experience of having to play as him.

I think I hate this game, and I feel really bad saying it. I got all endings, and there were aspects I quite liked. The story was interesting and intriguing, the characters were good, and the aerial combat is alright. The real problem is that the ground gameplay, which is most of the runtime, is just miserable the whole way through, the music isn't all that great, and the whole experience felt very mind-numbing. I didn't have a fun time, but I am glad I played it, as a huge fan of NieR. The story is good, and Yoko Taro's charm is still in this game.

this game broke me
The story is good, but the gameplay ranges from boring and repetitive at best, to frustratingly tedious and obtuse at worst. If you're a Nier fan, just watch a plot synopsis. Do not subject yourself to this travesty of a video game. I'm so glad that Yoko Taro didn't continue on this path when it came to the Nier series.

This game is crazy, I honestly think is trying to be bad on purpose even if that's not the case, definitely I would not recommend this game, but the story is rather interesting and deep enough, the music will give you headaches but that creates an inmaculate atmosphere of absolute madness, if you appreciate some darkness and edgyness in your games you will be served good.

Oh stupid, stupid, all of you, fleeing the resurrection. The gods are watching! It is their last judgment! We will be transformed! We fear nothing! We are loved! You hate me, don't you? Kill me if you want. I don't mind. Come on, warrior. Kill me. Don't hold back. Whoppity whop! Kill little Manah! I don't mind. I am loved, you know. See, mother has to love me, if the gods love me.
