Shelved this just a day in since really it's just FM1 with better visuals.
Did every arcade exhibition race except the Nurburgring, saw arcade had time trials that unlocked cars too and didn't wanna bother. Didn't even progress in career after seeing it had the same progression.

I'd just say read my FM1 review and you got 2. Just more cars and better visuals here, more polish. I'd recommend this one over 1 in that case, even if I couldn't be bothered to do anything in it. But that's just because I have burnout from 1 still. Might revisit it someday and at least get halfway through the career.

The last Forza game that was most obviously trying to directly siphon GT's success. In the process, however, the game shines in it's car variety and presentation, while lacking in the track department (expect to be racing the same routes a lot!).

This was the first racing game that pried me away from Gran Turismo. It's also the first racing game I played more online than single player.

The only Forza game I've played and I plan to keep it that way because I doubt I would enjoy myself anymore than I did with this.

Good racing game and good progression system, but the AI was not very good which was not ideal.

the early 2007 vista aero design means this game is ki-no no questions asked, floaty car physics are kind of overkill in this one since from my experience it was partially fixed in fm4, other than that i can say this one got sovl, love the menu themes
edit: nevermind, just turned on the abs and now physics actually feel fun, game starts to grow on me

Forza Motorsport 2 is the true beginning of one of gamings juggernaut racing franchises. A full 60FPS, true HD racing game like this that wasn't just a proof of concept was such a breath of fresh air in 2007 especially after PGR3 was simply only running at 30FPS. The career mode is well paced and ensures that you get rewards at regular intervals, the ways you can customise your cars liveries was a revelation to me coming from the limited ways it could be done in previous racing games and above all else the actual racing gameplay was tight and allowed you to play YOUR way. A game filled with as much expression as it has the will to give you ways to express yourself. One of the best racers ever made.

A very solid racer which still holds up to this day. While more catered to sim racing fans, what's great about forza 2 is that the assists are fully customizable, meaning you can cater the difficulty of the drive as you gradually get better. This really encourages you to gradually reduce the driving assists on the game and test out manual transmission even if you start off as a beginner. Aside from this the game has excellent graphics, handles well and includes a nice selection of vehicles. The track selection is also great and the real life track selection will appeal to racing fans. Super casual racing fans may find this all a little boring, but its hard to deny Forza 2 is one of the best racers on the console.

Now, that's how you do a progression system in racing games

Playing through this game was a fantastic nostalgia trip, from listening to the music to the great menu art style. The graphics also look great for a game released in 2007. I don't mind the design of the career mode, but locking other events because your level wasn't high enough was a bit annoying; it felt like the game was slowing down my progression. I definitely prefer the career mode design change in Forza Motorsport 3. The region idea in the career mode could have been amazing, but I would have made the swap between regions more significant. For example, they could have some races hidden alongside the cars, making the region change more special and substantial (bearing in mind that with each swap of the region, the more expensive the swap becomes).

This one’s kinda old and silly and the track variety is a bit lacking but I still kinda love it. I miss when simcades gave you reward cars for completing championships man
