A very solid racer which still holds up to this day. While more catered to sim racing fans, what's great about forza 2 is that the assists are fully customizable, meaning you can cater the difficulty of the drive as you gradually get better. This really encourages you to gradually reduce the driving assists on the game and test out manual transmission even if you start off as a beginner. Aside from this the game has excellent graphics, handles well and includes a nice selection of vehicles. The track selection is also great and the real life track selection will appeal to racing fans. Super casual racing fans may find this all a little boring, but its hard to deny Forza 2 is one of the best racers on the console.

Tom Cloud - Told You So

Now, that's how you do a progression system in racing games

Playing through this game was a fantastic nostalgia trip, from listening to the music to the great menu art style. The graphics also look great for a game released in 2007. I don't mind the design of the career mode, but locking other events because your level wasn't high enough was a bit annoying; it felt like the game was slowing down my progression. I definitely prefer the career mode design change in Forza Motorsport 3. The region idea in the career mode could have been amazing, but I would have made the swap between regions more significant. For example, they could have some races hidden alongside the cars, making the region change more special and substantial (bearing in mind that with each swap of the region, the more expensive the swap becomes).

This one’s kinda old and silly and the track variety is a bit lacking but I still kinda love it. I miss when simcades gave you reward cars for completing championships man

Runs on 60fps which I appreciate, but the graphics are of its time. Good upgrade system and progression which can make you log a lot of hours into the game.

Kinda funny how my first reaction to playing this was "wow the graphics look so good!" since I had beaten the first Forza into my head the past year.

Have to say this feels more like an updated version of the first game rather than an entirely new one like the later ones have felt. But you have to commend Turn10 for recognizing they had a winning and not really doing much to jeopardize, although it is at the cost of feeling like they're kind of "playing it safe".

Also I see they got the license for Lamborghini this time, good for them.

Un grand jeu.
Il aura peut être mal vieillis aujourd’hui pour les nouveaux mais à jamais dans mon cœur. J’y ai passé tellement de temps et de énergie pour réussir les coupes et même celle à 80 tours..

Incroyable.

Loved this as a kid but I lost the disk after the Xbox got the red ring of death and I forgot to take the disk out before sending it to Microsoft

The last Forza game that was most obviously trying to directly siphon GT's success. In the process, however, the game shines in it's car variety and presentation, while lacking in the track department (expect to be racing the same routes a lot!).

This was the first racing game that pried me away from Gran Turismo. It's also the first racing game I played more online than single player.

The only Forza game I've played and I plan to keep it that way because I doubt I would enjoy myself anymore than I did with this.

Good racing game and good progression system, but the AI was not very good which was not ideal.

the early 2007 vista aero design means this game is ki-no no questions asked, floaty car physics are kind of overkill in this one since from my experience it was partially fixed in fm4, other than that i can say this one got sovl, love the menu themes
edit: nevermind, just turned on the abs and now physics actually feel fun, game starts to grow on me

Forza Motorsport 2 is the true beginning of one of gamings juggernaut racing franchises. A full 60FPS, true HD racing game like this that wasn't just a proof of concept was such a breath of fresh air in 2007 especially after PGR3 was simply only running at 30FPS. The career mode is well paced and ensures that you get rewards at regular intervals, the ways you can customise your cars liveries was a revelation to me coming from the limited ways it could be done in previous racing games and above all else the actual racing gameplay was tight and allowed you to play YOUR way. A game filled with as much expression as it has the will to give you ways to express yourself. One of the best racers ever made.

Such an amazing sequel. Brought so many features with it. A great sim racer for the time.

Sequel that brought a heap man. Basically made the template of what the future forzas would be. The immediate 60fps bump and hd ness of going next gen made it a really smooth welcoming. Progression is leagues better and faster than the previous entry. Although the tracks are still limited it does get repetitive a little quickly as there isn't much variety within tracks. Car selection got a bump and the upgrade system while still not quite polished or balanced is definitely massively improved. It's gotta bit more character and the qol is definitely one I wouldn't turn down maybe beating one day. Good job turn 10. I know what's coming next and it's about to be a happy future. Also again no completion I'm not grinding for 80 hours to get all races done especially when it repeated many tracks. Got to level 20 and done

Kind of a downgrade from the Xbox original. Sure it controls a bit better but learning the controls in the first game was half the fun, they took out the racing ai so you have to manually grind to unlock all the maps which arent even nearly as interesting as the first game. It also has a newer coat of paint which is really unimpressive considering the first game was probably the best looking game on the xbox and looks like it couldve been released in 2009 while this one just looks like a typical 360 game. They did add some upgrading system but I am not a car autist so I really don't appreciate the minute details of automobile functionality. Maybe Racing sims just aren't my thing and I should just stick to the arcade racers

The beginning of Forza's reign in this generation - once again proving that Turn 10's ultimate desire is to provide what Polyphony and Gran Turismo doesn't.

played this a lot as a kid. loved the auction house and the wide range of customization. never got terribly into the racing tho
