I’m pretty sure there was a part of Chainsaw Man that they copied for the final boss.
Finally finished the main campaign after putting it off for two years, I really enjoyed it and the challenges they presented never got stale. The overworld was also unique- I never had an issue with conserving power eggs to progress. Small fry was a cute mascot addition but I hardly found practical use for him outside of the levels designed around it's mechanics.
Online Modes:
While splatoon 3 is certainlty the definituve version of the unique shooter- it also found it to have a much higher diffiuclty curve as there is a mixture of new players and players from the past two games. Salmon run wasn't my favorite mode because of how stressful it can be, but they added fresh content consistently and I can appreciate the mode as a nice break from rank climbing. As great as this game is I wish it was saved for another system as I was personally burnt out from splatoon 2 which also rarely suffered from a content drought.

I pretty much only play this game for Salmon Run. I'm so glad they included it from Splatoon 2, and even made it permanent with more content. I also didn't expect to enjoy the tetris card game so much.
First impressions went exactly as I thought they would. I’m gonna love this game. I adore this series.

On the surface it doesn't look much different from Splatoon 2, but just about every single detail of the game has been meaningfully improved. I really liked the single-player campaign.

Pretty good, campaign is fun, but wish the area you explore for each level was better. Alone is fun, I'm a super casual, so idk if this game makes super crazy changes. Love Big man, he is the best
it's more splatoon. yup. about the same quality as octo expansion in my eyes. just more great TPS gameplay, with great music and great art. cool.
I wanted to like this game so much, but the multiplayer is so much worse then 2 or even 1! How ever the story mode + side order and some of the best this series has to offer so if you enjoyed splatoon 2 octo expansion play the story mode of this.

Not a fan of this entry. Dose not do enough to stand on its own to be a full price game. Feels more like an update to Splatoon 2 than a squeal.
Solid but very flawed game.
Splatoon is great, but the differences from entry to entry are so few.

It basically takes both gameplay styles and tries to mesh them into this weird… best of both worlds situation where you get the selection variety of OE but the platforming of Valley and it doesnt? work? like for the most part you’ll just be using hero shot just so you can use smallfry and even then it’s so short you can just breeze by in about an hour or so.

I suck and don't play it too much to talk about the multiplayer aspects, but the story mode is fun and the table turf minigames are great. If only it had the rhythm mini games back. Then it'd be 5/5. The thing that pulls it through is the alterna logs and the sunken scrolls, other than the story mode could've been better.
At least I can say that a bear sucked an old man dry and be completely serious about it.
