If the WWE games were less sim focused and more like Slam Masters, I would buy them every year. I really dig the creative flips and grappling in here and the character variety is really novel and fun. Played as the luchador in both Slam Masters and had a great time flipping and spinning around my opponents.

Windjammers rules. What if Pong was just insanely cool? Super simple but just oozing with charisma.

Really cool looking game, maybe the coolest vibe of any arcade racer. It plays pretty well too!

and don't get me started about the music - if you've seen the anime, you know how goated the Initial D music is

I like how weird the fighters are in here. Definitely an Anakaris main, love my weird mummy pharaoh boy.

The banana controller is one of the coolest / funniest controllers ever. It makes the game near impossibly difficult but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I understand the hype behind this one - while it's a bit more challenging than Outrun 2 or R4, it is super satisfying to overtake dozens of cars within the limited time given. I never won in the arcade version - maybe someday I won't be filtered.

I love how they take Metal Slug's design principles and push the sprite work and aesthetics to such heights. It's a beautiful game, especially on a CRT TV. I got through about half of it at Galloping Ghost, and finished the rest on an emulator (as a side note, how cool is it that Atomisware emulation works through modified Dreamcast? Props to the people who made that happen). It's short but never feels like it overstays its welcome and the mix of land, air, and sea adds enough variety to keep each of the five levels feeling fresh.

The flight stick / trackball combo controls are so wild but this is peak Midway multiplayer madness. Chaotic arena shooter that takes the best of games like Power Stone and Smash TV and mashes it together into something really fun and addictive.

Really cool beat-em-up with some cool sprite work. I really loved playing as the weird plant-monster hybrid, causing chaos and killing Elvis impersonators.

This game isn't the most challenging but it sure is fun, especially on the original arcade hardware. Sega arcade driving games rule and this is one of their best.

The arcade version of this rules - take NBA Jam's arcade sports sensibility of back-and-forth streaks of scoring and pair it with some incredibly fun and creative sprite work and a sense of chaos and you have a really fun hockey game for parties. Really worth a play if you get the chance - will be trying the Genesis port at some point.

What a fun room shooter, the whole Running Man-esque presentation is super fun and the animation and sprite work is really impressive. I love how sometimes when you die, your eyes will fly out of your skull towards the screen. The bosses here are a real highlight too - really dynamic bosses that transform as they take more damage. Played this co-op with my brother through the first two bosses but will likely revisit to experience the rest at some point in the near future.

Is there anything more satisfying than bodying someone in Third Strike?

My brother is a huge JoJo fan so we had to play a few rounds of this early JoJo fighting game. It's a blast! The sprite work is incredibly fluid and stylish and the stand system adds a lot of gameplay variety. After a few rounds as Jotoro I picked up Alessi and started just wiping the floor with my little bro - his stand with his shadow that can just axe people from range is extremely OP and allowed me to just clean up from range. I do hope to play more of this one; from what I understand, Capcom ported an updated version to Dreamcast which I'll need to check out.

Super fun and charming WarioWare-like arcade game. There's a detailed story here that flew over my head since I can't read Japanese but the gist is that you play as aliens wreaking havok on humans in a bunch of quirky ways. Playing against people over five rounds is a blast, it's super easy to pick up and have a blast. This seems to be a forgotten gem from Namco - it seems possible to emulate via MAME so if you're curious about what an arcade WarioWare-like minigame collection would play like, seek this out! Grab a friend and play through for a few rounds, it's a great time.
