Forbidden West is a great game, but it has a lot of missed potential with regard to the main story and Aloy's companions. The game's second act revolves around Aloy capturing three of GAIA's rouge AI's, the main quests introduces new cultures, characters and information about the Old World, but sadly the AIs themselves don't have their own identity like HEPHAISTOS and HADES and act as objects to simply collect. The malfunctions of the terraforming system are not felt in the game, excluding the red plants that appear on certain areas of the map and a very small part of the main story. Aloy's friends are all interesting (mostly), but sadly Aloy doesn't truly form a bond with them, they just exist around her and help each other out in some quest. Throughout the story Aloy has atleast 3 potential malewifes/wifes whom the player might be interested in romancing, but the story doesn't allow it.
The game truly shines in its art design, machines, worldbuilding, and especially it's tribes. The gameplay is fun, didn't deter too much from its predecessor. Even on the PS4 the game is beautiful and runs smoothly, textures sometimes take time to fully load, but it's mostly just the small details.

The Batmobile is an overused gameplay gimmick forced onto nearly every single mission or puzzle, the game is otherwise fun.
