I only cleared the first level of the game, Medical.

I dropped it afterward.

I believe the idea behind the core gameplay loop is resource management, which is an idea that I like. Use melee combat to kill this one weak enemy and save your bullets for the stronger foes and etc, however it was poorly executed in System Shock Remake.

the combat is so, so bad. So underwhelming. There is something about the gunplay that I can't quite put my finger on that makes it so, so bad. I found that the enemies kept hitting me with their bullets even though I was moving, their bullets never miss me. Almost as if their aim is perfectly on me all the time.

I felt bored and frustrated after every encounter. I also found that resources were not scarce at all. I never ran out of ammo despite using my firearms for the majority of the level which made the combat boring and frustrating when there are multiple enemies (specifically the ones who can shoot projectiles at you) and easy when there is only one or two.

The premise is interesting. And I liked the interconnectivity of the level and the immersive sim aspect of the game. I wish the remake made a lot of changes to the combat while still preserving the feel and the intended experience of the game.

decent game, just not good enough to make me wanna continue playing it. it adds nothing worth mentioning to the Metroidvania formula. I thought the game was way too easy (I played it for about 4 hours) it was not fun.

I liked the art-style and the setting.

Thoughts so far:

I really, really think the game would've been ten times better if your stamina remained intact when sprinting outside of combat. it makes backtracking tedious.

the combat: so far so good. I like the gunplay, the stealth and the variety of the enemies. Solid.

really challenging, yet fair boss fights. Really loved each one of them, not equally of course. gunplay is top-notch.

Solid, solid game. I loved it so much.

So different and unique and innovative. Absolutely loved it.

smooth gameplay, good enemy variety, gorgeous art style, and decent length. Solid game.

2022

This game has one of the best hitboxes in any video game ever. It's so perfect and accurate. Too good to be true. I think without its perfect hitbox, the game wouldn't work at all. I relished the challenge it presented.

radical concept, not an excellent execution.

ABSOLUTE MASTER-PIECE. PLAY IT NOW.

I strongly recommend it.

We need more games like this. Cuts to the chase at the outset and offers you all it has in 2 hours and just ends. No stretching no trying to make it longer for length's sake. basic gameplay loop, great combat.

Way too grindy for my taste, however, I really appreciate the art style, the character designs, and the combat. I disliked the gameplay loop so much and it reminded me of AC origins, that is, one of my worst gaming experiences.

I also disliked how the game bounds me to complete tasks (the game calls them quests) since you must complete them to level up your characters. Whenever I enter an "optional" dungeon I find that the only thing I care about is completing the tasks to level up my characters; I don't care about the enemies or having fun because I must level up my characters to unlock new forms.

The idea of having different forms is very awesome and I liked it, even so, I think the execution is not perfect in light of how very inconvenient it is to change forms mid-combat. I also liked mixing and swapping the active and passive abilities of my characters, pretty much the highlight of the game.

I might pick it up again later if it gets patched.

a compelling story and impressive presentation and music. That's all this game is about.

When I hear the words "a good video game" Cuphead is the first thing that conjures up in my mind.
