uninspired maps, everything else is great.

10 slot machines lashed together with simon belmont's whip (compliment)

nintendo. please. the games... they're wonderful. please let me play them. help me out here

for a sluggish 3d platforming combat game this was pretty good, owing in no small part to very effective use of the star wars aesthetic. i got SO lost in that fucking swamp.

tangent: the antagonist of this game was SO great that they just put her in the Obi-Wan series. trilla and reva are both cool (trilla actually much more intimidating and competent tbh) but i feel like they're a little too similar

i think we more or less got there, right?? Yamane score didn't quite meet my hype levels but it's perfectly fine.

possibly the most european video game of all time. i was more or less enjoying myself moving through all the points of interest on the map (much easier after some post-launch QoL updates but utterly miserable before) but then i went out of town for a week and when i came back i had lost my grasp on how the approx. 1000000000 customization and combat systems worked. had to take the L and walk away

the best plastic guitar game and it's not even close. high points include: the cinematics, the peripherals, and weird features like the drum trainer, which drills you on various ringo-isms. this game changed my real-life drumming! what the fuck!!

i played this game 3 years ago and i still think about it all the time. and by "it" i mean Razmi

i have played this game (and the original) probably more than any other in my life, and looking back i could have probably spent a quarter of that time and i would still have the same level of satisfaction today.

and you know, visiting these worlds is really fucking cool. and the story is really fucking cool. but the only way you can interact with any of it is by shooting, jumping, running or scanning some shit so you can read something or hear a voice line. it doesn't matter if you have 50 different things to do if you can really only do 5 things.

the gameplay loop rewards you for playing more until it just doesn't, at which point you have spent some ungodly amount of time playing so you just keep playing. i don't envy bungie for having to figure out how to balance the needs of novice and hardcore players, but it all just feels so crude.

side tangent: they never should have brought back random rolls. you dont listen to a gambling addict when they start yelling at you to let them gamble!! we're not meant to compulsively, joylessly play the same shit over and over for eLiTe GoD rOlLs!! that is not what 'replayability' means and also its fucking boring. it's boringgggggg

double tangent: whoever is responsible for the lore in this series just smashed it out of the park. light years beyond what it needed to be. i would like to shake their hand

party classic. insanely great music

basement, oddjob, slappers only

YOUR FATHER HELPED ME LIKE THAT TOO

take out the awful repetitive music that plays when you're low on health and you got yourself a perfect game

the best of the black boxes imo
