Elden Ring quite honestly defies all logic that could be used to explain it's existence, the scope and scale of the game, it's density, and all the work done on a mechanical level feel like this game had to have been in development since the first Dark Souls, but it was not. Fromsoft finally elevates the concept of Dark Souls to an All Timer with Elden Ring

Inside you there are two people, one is you, the other is also you. you are gay

I never finished the original metroid prime, I got pretty close after giving up in the phazon mines saying "I'm just not having enough fun, and this game is too long". well, I've finished it now and honestly, my opinion of the game has gotten worse! I already thought that metroid prime was a mixed bag of a game, the opening bits full of a sense of fun that quickly gives way to drudgery around the moment you pick up the varia suit. while the game is pretty fun when you're making forward advancements, the game increasingly becomes backtracking slowly through rooms that may as well have been loading screens, and the final hours of the game being spent on a pointless quest to backtrack through areas you have already done hours of backtracking through to find items that do nothing but unlock the end of the game, only to be rewarded with two bad boss fights and one of the worst final zones in any video game. all that said, there are some tangible improvements over the original with the new control options and the remastered visuals are gorgeous

Dragon's Dogma II is one of those games that I yearned for, I wished for it, and now that it is here, it is exactly what I wished for. Dragon's Dogma concerns you with the mundane as much as the extravagant, concerns about how much of your pack is taken up by herbs and equipment, your character's height and weight. it all matters as much as the fact that a dragon stole your heart and now you are the rightful sovereign of the country and must slay said dragon in an epic quest. it is the contrast between relaxing in an oxcart and then moments later it is attacked by a monster, wild and strange, that makes this game what it is

it took them almost 20 whole years, at least three of which were probably spent on this particular iteration, to create The Best Metroid Game

even rapidly aging, snake still got that cake

I did not get smarter between playing bioshock and bioshock infinite, but ken levine definitely got dumber

if Armored Core 4 is the Peak, For Answer is ascending to a higher realm

The original fallout is still the best and most clear vision of fallout to date

I think Darkest Dungeon's whole theming and aesthetic is the ultimate double edged sword, a dark and dreary dungeon crawling rpg with fun management elements and combat is cool as heck, but the ever-present nature of it makes it exhausting.

in this seminal rpg, star wars asks the question, "what if ayn rand was a sith lord"

I hate that people thought this game was good just because it had bad jokes in it

While there's things I would prefer this game do more of & lean into more, the game that we got is nothing short of the true crowning achievement of the iteration from software has been doing for the last 20+ years on all their games

Disco Elyisum is The RPG. This is the RPG you should play. There may not be another game like this.
