Best Forever Games
These are games that can honestly last you a lifetime. Meaning if someone were to ask you "If you were to pick on game to play for the rest of your life, what would it be?" Consider Either of these games featured on this list.
I should add, any individual is able to play any of these games for any amount of time of their choosing. Take Minecraft for example, you can play that whenever you and however long you want. This is just a fun list i made to point out any game that I would think can last you a lifetime (if you choose).
Like BEYOND 100 or 500 Hours
The early one you see are really the main Contenders, everything else can be bias. I will provide some notes on why it could last a lifetime, and some that i think are biased but ill put in here anyway because i do see it.

crazy replay ability and amazing mod scene, Vanilla base game alone is enough, and theirs even optional DLC.
plus with all the mods out there for this game, this game will ABSOLUTELY last you a lifetime, if so you choose to. Theirs just SO MANY fun ways to play, do you wanna be a Raider? Or maybe a King or Ruler, Do you wanna be a Slaver, start a military compound and try to conquer the world. I could quite literally go on endlessly on what colonies you could start. This game is OP when it comes to the Forever game discussion out of alot of games out there. It's one of the best story/simulator games I've ever played.

So what make this game so good has to be the Complexity. Serious depth and complexity. There's never been a game even close to it for that, and it's constantly getting deeper, more complex, and crazier. The scale of this game is truly amazing. Like Rimworld, if you picked this, your set for life.
Similar to dwarf fortress, but does have a medieval fantasy theme to it, haven't really played this myself but just by looking at gameplay and screenshots, it does give that vibe.
yeah, a game that was a bit of broken mess, with boring gameplay. Now i think is worth playing, with endless content. Quite literally you have the whole universe as your sandbox. Its basically Minecraft but in space
So out of every game paradox (the developer) has ever made, this has to be their best game ever. This is a large scale, space, grand strategy, RTS, 4X game. Ever dreamed of Conquering the galaxy, like the emperor from star wars. Well this might be the game, you can enslave planet and aliens, form trades, form alliances, become a hivemind, blow up planets, blow up solar systems, be the threat of the universe even. So much replayability. Game is also really accessible to. Also with mod support, the content is endless once again. The expansions also make the game better, and if you look over them, they do make the game so much better, would they be required, kind of yeah. But to me i had my moneys worth. its a great game
Best City Builder economy management game honestly, also has mods. Enough for casuals maybe, also paradox 2nd best game in my opinion
havent played this myself again, but i know this game is highly favorited, and taking a glimpse at the gameplay, yeah i would also love it, just havent gotten to it.
heard its one of the best zombie survival role playing games. Not as FPS or third person game tho.
Yeah its an MMO, their are servers, but its still highly played.

like WOW and Runescape, this game is one of the most popular MMO games of all time
like factorio but a first person game
i can see it, simple farm life game with a very good balance of short term and long term goals, very rewarding to. And the game gets deep, their are enemies and special areas to go out an adventure to.
Terraria in Space, also has good mod support
I have so much playtime in this game. This is probably the best military sandbox game ever, with a singleplayer and multiplayer component, along with an in game editor to make your own missions, and mods. This game is an Oasis for Mil-Sim games
survival game with dinosaurs, pretty cool
ever wanted to recreate your own game of thrones like world, manage things, declare wars, control territory, well this is another game for you. Also released by paradox, same studio behind stellaris, so yeah this game is really deep.
Really Cool Viking Survival Game, still being supported
its fun if you wanna control the cosmos
underwater survival, dont know if its a forever game, but it can
tons of stuff here that can make 100 hours of gameplay
this also used to be my only game, this game is sandbox oasis, still highly played today
This does depend on the Individual, but ill say this. I have hundreds of hours of this game and still cant get bored of it. Could it last me a lifetime, maybe not, but i got alot of enjoyment out of it.
A rogue like metroidvania, maybe not a forever game but it has alot of replay ability
