This game is NOT bad.

Is it Good? Uhh, maybe?
I had a lot of fun playing this game for probably 20 hours. The story is fine, the combat is fine, the traversal is fun, and the dialogue and cutscenes are seriously great. Those combine to make a solidly fun story game.
BUT
If you play this game beyond the story, be prepared to experience the soul-crushing fun-sucking "game" that is finding collectibles and replaying missions over 50 times. (I'm not joking.)
I tried to platinum this game. You can tell by the fact that I put 45 hours into this game that I gave it a good effort to complete everything I could. Honestly, if I had quit 20 hours in when the story was finished, I would have a much better outlook on this game. But holy crap, is the "postgame" the most boring, repetitive, and unrewarding thing I've played in probably 10 years.

So, as I said, the game isn't bad. But please, just play through the story and uninstall it. And only buy it if it's less than $30, because that's about what the story game should have been sold for.

I chose to play this because I wanted to see what kind of story games are on Apple Arcade. It started out perfectly fine but holy crap does it just get soo boring. The dialogue is just uninteresting and drawn out, and the entire game is just dialogue, so that sucks. The story is not compelling at all and probably at least 50% of the choices are the same thing. For example, you can choose to say "What happened?" or "Are you okay?", and both those choices mean the exact same thing. It really made me angry for the entire second half of this game and I really had to slog through it.

The number 1 thing I have to say about this game is that it's probably the greatest traversal game of all time. At least out of all the games that I can think of. It really makes you feel like Spiderman

Almost everything about this game is just a straight improvement on the previous 2 entries, my favorite of which being the boss battles. While they aren't too hard, I found the boss battles to be very satisfying and fun, and I loved the unique and cool arenas.

The one thing that I believe can leave people feeling disappointed is the story, just because it doesn't eclipse the story of the original game. However, I think that is holding this game to an unrealistic standard as the original's story is so beloved. Spider-Man 2 has a perfectly fine story. I do really like that Insomniac took this game in a more dark and serious direction, even brutally killing major characters. In the previous games, it felt as though they were afraid to kill off any characters, but they proved that's not the case.

I do want to applaud some of the performances, because this game seems to shine in their voice acting and motion capture performances. Yuri Lowenthal, Nadji Jeter, Mark Rolston, Stephen Oyoung, and Leandro Cano gave some fantastic performances, along with many others.

Overall, though I do think in the future it'll be slightly looked over just like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, I do think this game is a major success in Insomniac's Spider-Man universe
