CrushShadow finished The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
What started development for the Nintendo Wii U, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is not only an amazing Zelda game but also an outstanding game in every sense of the word. This is my favourite game of all time.

100 years ago the threat of Calamity Ganon was drawing near so the King of Hyrule appointed six special individuals, including Link and Zelda, as champions to drive back Ganon and protect Hyrule using ancient machines called Guardians and Divine Beasts, The Master Sword and Zelda’s special sealing power. However, Ganon managed to take over the guardians and the divine beasts, killing the champions and injuring Link while he was protecting Zelda. Link was put in a regeneration pod to heal his injuries so he could eventually return and destroy Ganon. This is nothing too complicated but also nothing that new for Zelda standards really.

The developers wanted to innervate the series, so they went open world. You start on the Great Plateau and can’t leave because if you do then death is your reward. The Great Plateau serves as a tutorial to teach you the basics of the game. You learn about the Sheikah towers which will give you a map of the current region. You will learn about the shrines. They are diet dungeons which will give you a task and give you a spirit orb when complete. When you have four spirit orbs, you can then trade them in for either a heart container or a stamina vessel. (NOTE: You can either complete the stamina wheels or have full heart containers. You can’t have both) You will learn about temperatures. You will need to have armour to protect you from either the blazing hot or the freezing cold. When you complete the Great Plateau, you will obtain the Paraglider and can leave the Plateau and do whatever you like. After you leave, they would like you to do the main quest and free the Divine Beast but, you can face Ganon and have a high chance of getting killed. Your Choice.

The main quest includes freeing the four Divine Beasts. The task is the same for each of the four races of Hyrule. You meet them up and help them with their little dilemma, They help your temporarliy disable the beast allowing Link to enter the free them. You face the boss and free the Champion’s spirit and they give you their special ability and you leave and report your success and then you do it again for the others. It can be quite repetitive and it can be seen as a problem because the Divine Beast replaces dungeons but freeing them from the inside requires some puzzle solving.

The four champions were friends of Link and Zelda and were chosen due to their special abilities to pilot the Divine Beasts. Champion Mipha is the Princess of the Zora’s and her special ability is an instant revival upon Death. Very useful for the early game and is the reason I go for her first. Champion Daruk is a fierce Goron warrior and his special ability is a protective shield that can protect you three times before it breaks which is incredibly useful. Champion Urbosa is the Gerudo chief and her special ability is when you charge up a spin attack lighting comes down and strikes everyone in the circle which I don’t get much use out of. Champion Revali is a powerful Rito archer and a jerk with a special ability that allows you to glide up into the air. These abilities are strong but when they run out they have a cool down time and you have to wait.

The combat is different. You get Swords, Bows, Arrows and Shields from enemies. Killing enemies, you can take their gear and use it for your own reasons. Watch out though, these tools have limited use and will break eventally. Armors are needed for added defence. You can buy them, receive them as rewards and find them in treasure chests. You can upgrade them to make them stronger and some of them also have speical bonuses like unfreezable and lighting proof so I would recommend going after them.

The bosses are mostly good with one being terrible and another being quite annoying. A fun one is Master Kohga, an easy one is Fireblight Ganon. The two bosses that aren’t good are Thunderblight Ganon and Dark Beast Ganon. Thunderblight is very quick and the terrain doesn’t really help with his zig-zagging pattern and his second phase where he goes and brings metal plates down and you need to grab one and bring it near him. Dark Beast Ganon is pathetic, You just wait for glowing areas and shoot them.

There is so much more to this game. So if you haven’t played this game, you should. This is a game that only Zelda fans would enjoy but all sorts of gamers would enjoy. This game won 25 awards in total including the Game of the Year at the 2017 Game Awards. This is my favourite game of all time. Maybe The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be better.

rasterman7 completed Bit.Trip Fate
An on rails shmup that isn't as rhytmical nor has the catchy tunes of the techno soundtrack that comprises the rest of the series. Still, it's good enough to be played for completion and to witness the voxel enemies and bosses while trying to figure out what came of Commander Video in the narrative being presented.

Medium_digitum finished Wasteland 2: Director's Cut
Definitely has potential, had times where i had alot of fun and other times where I was bored out of my mind or just frustrated. Also if I would recommend trying to figure out what skills and stats too prioritize if this is you first playthrough. I think that ruined some enjoyment for me since I focused on some stats and skills that bearly felt useful. Some areas are really fun and makes you really connect with the area and its people and theirs quests but other times it can be hard to tell what is the next course of action wich really frustrated sadly.

Finally I would recommend to just roll with the punches with this one. If you fail a speech check or someone dies, just live with it. It will make the game alot less slower even though it might feel like you get alitlle to harshly punished for it.

P.S don't invest in shotgun skill. It just sucks.

ashlyninstereo finished Minecraft: Tricky Trials
In the beginning of 2016 I first got a copy of Minecraft for PS4.
In the summer of 2021 me and my older brother collaborated and got the game to 100%. Not just the platinum, literally every trophy.

Later that year they added 4 new trophies, and now every year the two of us make a new world and start a brand new run to get the 4 new trophies they add for every major update.

Because these trophies are the main focus of my playthroughs of this update I'll only be talking about the things I had to use/do to obtain them. The update probably has more than the things I'll be talking about but I honestly don't care enough to use them...

The crafter is probably an incredibly good addition to the game but as a classic Minecrafter I have no use for it. I don't even use Blast Furnace's or Smokers.

The trial chambers are an amazing addition to the game, honestly.
If I ever were to need to get to The End at any point I'd likely do a solo run in one of them to buff up and get items.

The wind charges are super fun to use, too, once you get used to them. Combined with the Mace, which I'll talk about shortly, it's another brilliant addition.

One of the new items added in this game replaces the Bad Omen effect.
Before now, you got it immediately after killing a Pillager Captain and the only way to get rid of it was milk, death or starting a Raid.

Now, the Bad Omen effect is dropped as an item in bottle form.
You can drink it in a village to start a Raid, or you can save it and use it in a Trial Chamber for a challenge.

The Ominous Trials (as they're called) aren't super difficult but I did have some decent tools on my person.
Defeating enemies in these chambers can give you a Vault Key, which you use to unlock special loot chests.

Ominous Trials give you Ominous Keys which you use to unlock an Ominous Vault. These vaults can only be opened once per person, ever.

One of the items needed for the 100% is a Mace, crafted with a Breeze Rod (dropped by a new wind-based mob) and a Heavy Core.
Heavy Cores have a 2% or 7% chance of dropping from these Ominous Vaults (I literally have no idea which it is).

Originally I assumed it wasn't that hard, but I went to half a dozen vaults alone, then did another few with a second player (you both get to open it once) with no luck.

I only got the Core when I plugged a mouse into my PS4 and stared into the vault until it showed up for the small amount of time it did. Essentially I got super lucky (I also cheated by saving my world before opening it and copying it, deleting the copy and recopying the original every time I didn't get the core).

Every Minecraft update has one irritating trophy which is why I'm glad I only have to do this once a year.

Caves & Cliffs: Pt. 1 had me wax and unwax every copper block, which took over a week. Pt. 2 wasn't as bad but it still made me drag a villager to world height.
In Wild I had to bring all three frogs from three different biomes to the Nether and have them all eat a Magma Cube, which only took an extra day.
Last year's Trails and Tales update made me apply 8 different armour trims I had to find all over the world, which only took like 6 days.

With this update I had to not only find the core but fall from a huge height to get a crit.
If you're not doing incredibly stupid shit with the Mace it is super satisfying to land it and if it wasn't stupid hard to even think about finding I'd definitely use it more.

Overall, this update adds a lot of really good things to the game that make for a decent mid-game lootget, and I'm really curious to see how else the Ominous Bottles are used in the future. It's just the things I had to do for 100% that are the problem.

CrushShadow finished The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Champions' Ballad
The second DLC for Breath of the Wild gave us more information about each of the four champions and gave us something Eiji Aonuma fought for - Master Cycle Zero.

To obtain the bike, you need to complete challenges related to each champion, like facing a massive boss and racing through rings. After you beat the challenges you then reface the Blight Ganon's with limited resources and whatever remaining powers you have. Beat the Blight and the powers get upgraded with less cool down time. After doing that 4 times, you need to do another Divine Beast and face one last boss to obtain the bike. This is fine, the problem is that it is quite repetitive and you will be doing it over again.

We learn a bit more about the champions through flashbacks and their diaries. Examples are Mipha was Link's childhood friend and was a mother figure to Sidon and Daruk loves eating Rocks and has a fear of dogs.

There are more optional armour pieces like Phantom Ganon's armour and Zant's helmet. There is also armour from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

This is a better DLC than the Master Sword one but since you need to buy both to do them. But if you wish to learn more about the Champions and get less cool down time for their abilities, this is a good one to try.

CrushShadow commented on NOWITSREYNTIME17's review of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Ganondorf and second half of the Phantom Ganon fight are just a game of tennis. Nintendo loves doing that
