there's a concept here I'm in love with

the exploration of language as being malleable to interpretation is an exciting idea - especially for what is extensively a visual novel within a 3D environment

there's an enjoyable interplay between your unreliable constellation linguistics and the incomplete information villagers offer

you know as much about the outside world as your visitors know of the stars you parse for meaning

Wittgensteinian

I'd love to rate this higher, but I'll be honest that it started to lose its grip on me in the middle half. It got me again with the bug tribe, but It overall felt a bit overlong for what it was trying to accomplish - I'd love to see this mechanic expanded even further though

Despite what the rating might suggest, I DO recommend

I've just put in way too many hours for me to ever deny what a comfort this game was for me (especially playing Orphea)

Feels like Blizzard's answer to SMASH in a way... taking their most notable characters from their various IPs - putting em all in a battle arena in which their movesets can best be translated

Replacing the item shop/pool with individualized build paths (plus TWO ULTS EACH) is genius!! Each hero in this has more depth than ANY character in League.

oh my gosh the multiple maps too~

such a shame this was underrated for so much of its life

this is so me core ~

some of the most fun I've had with a platformer in a minute

the combat is a bit under baked tho... shoulda had more bosses, especially ones that involve more platforming

oh well can't deny the vibes

wish the goat would "rest" on my face

Why can't I play as boo tho???

Normally this is a ☆☆☆

Here's a tip to add a star:

Play with a bunch of buddies and have everyone cast themselves as a character... pass the controller to the corresponding buddy when the game swaps to their character.

Sure, requires having many buddies but nothing else puts you into the mindset of working together/against all your friends.

One managed to kill half the cast in a single turn and we were SCREAMING

just a banger

Singleplayer - ✩✩
Local Multiplayer - ✩✩✩✩

Played so much of this with my neighbors

Terrorist Hunt was so goofy I loved it

extra star for that Ice Choir soundtrack

sometimes I feel like just a little marble

must be played with a trackball - feels like nothing else of its time or since

Amazingly underrated Rockstar title

just play it on the DS

This is the PM to Dota's Melee and League's Brawl
