Party Game Weekend Summary/Compilation
You might have seen this list floating around, as part of my morbid curiosity to chronicle every potential party game whether good or bad (mostly bad) that could potentially be played by my friends and I during meet-ups. Suffice to say, we have played a very small chunk of the list during the three meet-ups so far, and most of them are absolutely horrendous. I don't feel like doing full write-ups for most of them given the brevity of how many we had to cover (though I did review a few and I'll link appropriately when necessary), so let this list serve as my documentation for the excruciating torture sheer joy we experienced during our party seshes. I have done my best to chronicle everything we covered chronologically, but my memory may have intentionally blocked out a few experiences: we'll see how it goes. There's at least one more meet-up happening this year and an undetermined amount happening in the years to come, so more updates are always on the horizon.

It's basically better Monopoly with very aggressive price gouging, was pretty fun overall but some of the boards were absolute cancer to play due to how many switches caused suits to shuffle around the board constantly.

Holds up! Boom Blox Bash Party's a bit better in my opinion, but the original's still worth a gander.
Pretty much our Wii Party game go-to, super easy to pick up and tons of different game modes to mess around with.

This honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but every turn took an eternity and a half and we couldn't figure out how to plan moves because the camera would always only focus on one character at a time with a very non-descript map. Still wouldn't recommend it though.

I think I tried to play Gingy and crumpet dash my friend. It didn't go so well.

Lack of aerial drift and a super high ceiling meant that characters would live well into the 300%s. Not playing this one again for sure.

I remember getting wombo comboed by my friend who was smacking me with a pillar and not much else. Fun though!
Oh hell yeah now we're talking. Both of us had no idea what we were doing, but watching our favorite rappers hit the streets and rap battle in more ways than one was a thrill. I don't know the tech, but I do know that I'd gladly play this again.
I technically played this solo to entertain a few online friends while everyone at the meetup was getting ready for bed, but I'm counting it anyways because they saw me try and dissect this vomit of a game. Needless to say, my greatest mistake.
A lot of fun honestly even though my friend and I were not steering well at all. If we had more time to mess around with the controls and courses, I could see this becoming an easy mainstay.

Kinda like playing with water guns as an adult. It's fun for a few minutes or so, but you can't help but want the real thing.

Way better than my experience with Zero Gravity for sure (though that is a very low bar), and even though both of us got walloped by the CPUs, we're gonna choose to chalk this up as a skill issue and try and get better for next time. Maybe for the next meetup we try out DX?
We didn't get in a full game, but we liked the one week in-game that we got to play. Can't see this making a return due to its length unfortunately, but I can recommend it!
You know, this wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be! But, we also only played two matches, so that might have helped too.
About twenty minutes in, my friend said "Drax, I would prefer to play Pac-Man Party over this. Please switch the game." I obliged.
Extremely stupid, but perfectly functional. That's the best compliment I can come up with.
The surprise hit of Party Game Weekend 1. Lots of room for optimization and a good amount of coordination between my friend and I, and I'd be more than happy to bring this back for another go to try out more courses.
Malfunctioned half-way through from some really strange visual glitches that forced us to put this down half an hour in. A shame too, we weren't a big fan of the tank battle minigame but I think it had some more stuff to dig into.

I don't actually think this game is that incredible looking back, but my friends and I were absolutely losing our shit at the on-screen action and that's more than enough to make it one of the more memorable titles of Weekend 1.

A little clunky in execution, but still a really cool and distinct concept even if it stresses me out to play.

A bit barebones for its time but considering all the other garbage we waded through that weekend, this was a pleasure to play. Don't see us playing this any time soon since there's more territory to explore, but it gets a thumbs up from me!

This run was really scuffed due to controller glitches via Steam Input, but I can't quite figure out why. I'll try and revisit this at some point if I can get my hands on more controllers.
None of us are fighting game experts but we loved this. I've heard it's pretty easy to pick up if you put in the time, so this might be a repeat later on!

Gave me motion sickness one minute in. No thank you.

Need to test out more of the scenarios to get a grip on how I feel, but from the little we played, it was pretty fun! We weren't very good at flying our toy planes, but again, skill issue on our end.
Again, we sucked at fighting games, but this had the appeal of controlling giant mechas to pull off flashy combos. So that's pretty good in my book!

Underrated by us honestly. We didn't play too much since we wanted to get to so many other titles, but the arcade beat-em-up and twin stick shooter mix had us enthralled.

Don't remember a lot about this one, but it seemed like a pretty solid fucked-up cartoony arena shooter.

If I can ever get over the fact that you need to use the triggers to rotate your camera instead of just using the analog stick like a normal person, then I'm sure it'll come back to our meet-ups someday.

This doesn't get a lot of attention nowadays but honestly pulls off its unique concept with aplomb and is the perfect mix of skill and chaos that I'm looking for when playing party games with friends. Would definitely recommend.
Only got to play a little bit, but the unusual control scheme was the hook that kept us interested for an hour or so. Not bad considering the clean aesthetics, but I think there are other games that have handled weird-controllng co-op in more interesting ways.
Nothing about this was particularly bad, but it felt kinda... lifeless. Probably not returning to this unfortunately.

After fixing up the initial Steam input glitches, this was pretty serviceable, if a bit underwhelming. Duck Game and Ultimate Chicken Horse hold a lot more appeal for my friends and I as is.

I really wish this had an online multiplayer mode (I guess we can use Steam Remote Play now even if it's a little scuffed at times), because this was a ton of fun as a couch co-op/competition. Might see a return if we need something stable and just want to run through a simple co-op platforming challenge together.
A LOT more fun with friends than just playing through by myself, but slightly held back due to very few actual multiplayer modes to switch up the execution (and the fact that you can only use one Wii mote at a time and have to keep handing it off). I think I prefer Mega Party Games to this.
A classic. Mega Microgames but with tons of different multiplayer modes means you get some of the best and simplest distilled game concepts with plenty of different ways to spice up an old favorite.
We could not get our motion inputs to register properly during half of the cooking activities here. A real let-down.
Yeah, I've had better ideas in my life.
If for some reason you've got a Wii Motion Plus on your hands, then this might be one of the mpre distinct Wii Party games out there! It will leave your arm pretty exhausted by the end though.
This Mario Party clone looks so innocuous but is so interestingly boring (if that makes sense) that I might actually take the time to investigate this further if I get really restless one day and flesh out exactly why. It works, the concept seems fine, but nothing happens at all. What an interesting conundrum of a middling party game.
Was pretty entertaining for about ten minutes or so, but we quickly ran out of content here.
Definitely one of the party games of all time
Motion controls were perfectly functional here and the soundtrack's really good! Something's missing though, and I can't quite put my finger on why.
Please don't play Monkey Mischief Party Time.
The best golf game we will play and it's honestly not even close. Just whack your frog and let it go on an adventure.
My friend and I solved this game within 5 minutes and proceeded to bowl a perfect game within 10. And then we never picked it up again.
This is kind of gross but in a very abrasive and not very entertaining way. Not my favorite.
Didn't get much playtime due to being at the end of Weekend 2, but it's a lot of fun. Need to spend some more time messing around with this for sure.
Unlike Cook Off, this game actually worked, but we weren't able to figure out how to cook full dishes and instead spent our time plodding about trivial kitchen tasks, which wasn't quite as fun.
