Ratings are dumb, here’s how I do them

Nothing here!

10/10 - Paragon

A title that is either perfect as it is and should never be meddled with if remade, or a flawed title that nevertheless changed my tastes in video games. These are the titles that justify the medium’s existence.
9/10 - Amazing

This rating separates the masterpieces from the wannabes. Unforgettable titles that fall just short of personal perfection. Maybe the story pacing is slightly off or the gameplay needs a little more polish.
8/10 - Great

Almost a masterpiece, but missing that one element to complete the package.
7/10 - Good

These are the games I unequivocally like. They won’t reinvent the wheel, but they are enjoyable for what they set out to do.
6/10 - Decent

Great ideas that fell short of their potential or fun mediocrities.
5/10 - Mediocre

Doesn't attempt anything original, but is an acceptable timewaster. Anything that starts strong but becomes terrible by the end also qualifies.
4/10 - Subpar

Has one thing going for it, but is trapped in an ocean of mediocrity.
3/10 - Bad

Guilty pleasures and generic shovelware.
2/10 - Terrible

Semi-promising but unplayable, or a functional snoozefest. Games that make you feel nothing.
1/10 - Atrocious

Plenty of terrible games exist, but every once in a great while there comes a title that is so offensive it should never be played, not even for laughs. These are the games that insult your intelligence in every conceivable way: dull gameplay, pretentious story, and a complete lack of respect for the medium's possibilities. These hurt the soul and I get zero enjoyment out of them.

Oh, wow, I liked Bioshock 😄 maybe it's time to revisit it
@Zark It’s all good. 😂 I just feel the series was more interesting storywise than gameplaywise, though BioShock 2 did a good job balancing the two. Minerva’s Den was especially impressive.
