I originally bought Hades on a whim, not really expecting much, because I'd heard good things about it, but none of my friends really ever talked about it so when I first got the game I was just hoping for a good time but then I was given one of the best experiences I've ever had in a video game.
Every character in this game has their own purpose with their own background and contribution to the overall story. Even characters who only have small amounts of dialogue that you might hardly ever see in the story are all likable and unique in their own ways.
Gameplay wise, I'd say that this is undoubtedly the best I've ever had the joy of going through. You have 6 weapons you can unlock that are all unique and different from each other with different play styles making it possible for the combat to appeal to anyone. You can upgrade yourself and your weapons to become stronger overtime and learn the many intricacies of the game.
I'd say that as far as challenging games go, Hades manages to nail it's difficulty perfectly. It's on the player to gradually unlock new abilities that can help you move towards your final goal. There are no real abrupt difficulty spikes, but some bosses can be tough as hell fighting them for the first time.
Hades is another one of those rare examples of a game that has both great gameplay, and a great story. You play as Zagreus who is trying to escape his overbearing father Hades and is on a quest to find his mother that he never got to meet. I'm going to avoid spoilers for anyone who hasn't played the game, but just know that this game's story will have you intrigued from beginning to end.
Hades' artstyle is also just as beautiful as the game itself. You're going around all these different sections of the game with their own unique atmosphere, enemies, gimmicks, characters, and bosses. All the characters have fantastic designs that are all drawn masterfully.
Overall, Hades is without a doubt one of the greatest games I've ever played and I think that everyone should go and play it right now. 10/10

One of my favorite shooters. The mechanics are amazing, the movement is some of, if not the best I've ever experienced in any video game. And the campaign will go down as one of the best in gaming history, cannot recommend this game enough.
