Revisited this after playing a lot of Yume Nikki Online. Far from perfect, but the built in map system and multiplayer kind of transforms this from a game about wandering and maybe seeing something into a game about trying to find cool stuff with ur friends. Very fun.

What the hell did I just play? Evil Fish PNGs, My Father is a Grotesque and Sopping Raw Beef Ballsack, Michael Jackson, Mario Horror Sequences... this is the exact kind of game I would make if I had the chops, and I adore it.

This game took everything that made Embodiment of Scarlet Devil an addicting and entertaining game, and refined it to near perfection.

The features introduced such as shift hitbox, varying collection lines, no. of lives and bombs, ect for different characters, and boss position followed at the bottom of the screen have become series staples.

A wonderful end to a big tale about a beautiful struggle of wishes, dreams, fear and illusions. Long story it was, and it ended with a blast! Reader trolling parts and especially the goats in ep8 is one of my favorite parts in whole VN. Solid 10/10.

After P-2, it's becoming harder and harder for me to not have this game as my all time favourite.
