Like Animal Crossing, but you can kill the villagers for power.

Glorgu, who's only ever watched Shenmue, playing Lake for the first time: Getting a lot of Shenmue vibes from this.

Solid management game that excelled at filling me with joy and expertly breaking my heart.

Um, it's really dang good. Draws on the core aspects of games I find very satisfying.

It needs difficulty/approachability options and accessibility options so I don't have to caveat my recommendation to others.

Do you ever stare at your box of Carcossone and wish you could play it solo? This is that, and that's good by me.

A gripping, though-provoking narrative, with spectacular moment-to-moment writing. To write much more about the game would be me writing "evocative" far too much in the same way games critics used to write "visceral".

Enjoying this currently. Turns out Pathfinder is a terrible system to track manually, but quite good when computers are taking care of that stuff.

Play in turn-based mode. Who saw D&D in the 90's and thought "we should make this, but without turns and you have to pause a lot."

It's very textbook if you're familiar with management games, but that's not a bad thing when the job is spoiling capybaras.

Great translation of Metroid to 3D. The blend of puzzle, platforming, and combat is really satisfying. The actual Metroid themselves though... spooky.

More promising than great, but I enjoy it quite a bit. Presents a different approach to victory conditions that I really like and will make me look at the genre differently from here on out.

Do you miss third-party games from 2002? This game's for you! It is like, unreasonably gorgeous though.

Farm game, but you don't have a farm, and put curses on people. Really satisfying mechanical loop!

What if every genre? But good.

Funniest game I've played in years. An absurd, beautiful game.
