I didn't play the PS1 game, but I sure loved this remaster, amazing soundtrack, super swift and nice combat, waiting on it's other parts to come out. May play it's ps5 version soon with intergrade.

I have a love hate relationship with this game, I started playing this when I downloaded all SMT games on my 3DS. I played this game until I got to Tokyo and from there I stopped playing for a while, then I picked it up and transferred my save to Citra Emulator, here are my thoughts:

What I liked:
-The Story, it is very dark and gloomy and it is based on an invisible alignment counter that is influenced by your decisions and actions. If your alignment is positive you get Law Ending, if it is negative you get Chaos Ending. And if it is between -8 and 8 then you get Neutral Ending, more on that later...

-The Music, it is definitely my favorite SMT soundtrack in the entire series, they really went in to make 114 banger tracks. Every OST fits in it's own dark/happy/joke slot.

-Dungeon Crawling, every space in Tokyo has it's own apocalyptic features, and every near end game dungeon is amazing. All in all, the exploration aspect of this game is awesome, and it may be closed zone exploration, it is still packed with detail.

-The Characters and Dialog, this game nails the characters and dialog, every NPC feels like they are actually in this horrific apocalyptical utopia, everyone has their own story and their way of survival. The dialog is immersive and you can spend time going around talking to everyone without thinking you wasted time.

What I HATE about this game:

-Gameplay, it is really annoying sometimes to have to encounter an enemy every 5-10 seconds, even with estoma sword (ability that temporarily lets you instakill normal enemies without starting a battle) you still have to spam it when it runs out. Another poor gameplay design is Tokyo map and it's restrictions, I can say that 90% of people got lost exploring/doing main story, and either spent a lot of time figuring it out or looked it up, all they had to do was include a map pointer to direct player. The first dungeon is very difficult especially if you're new to SMT games, the first battle can one shot you. But after that the game becomes more easy if you level up and buy gear.

-Neutral Ending (one I got), Law and Chaos are pretty simple to get, you either side with the character who wants to preserve gods rule, or side with the character who wants to bring chaos and make a world where the strong rule. But for those who wanted the "good ending" they would have to either follow a guide, or get lucky and get 8 to -8 alignment points in the end. It is a lot of work to get the neutral ending, and even when you secure the path to neutrality, you still have to do 19 quests to advance and actually get the ending sequence. So if you really want to get the neutral ending you would have to like this game to some degree...

I think this game is a flawed masterpiece, with the remaster of SMT NOCTURNE, I have hope that they fully remake this game and fix all of it's issues. I can guarantee it will SELL like crazy if they manage to do that! In conclusion I think this is not a starter SMT game but a game for those who have patience and like dungeon crawling and dark story.

Classic Zelda game, amazing music, combat, story.

Do not play this game if you do not have a funny friend to voice chat with. You may enjoy characters and the competitive aspect, but it relies too much on teamwork and you don't always get good teams... But the animations/movies and music are amazing, props to Riot Games for that!

Amazing graphics, scary as hell, will shit your pants sometimes, if you like aliens and sci-fi horror this game is for you.

Hard to say I haven't finished it, it's in the back of my completion list way down there unfortunately.

ZEUSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! This is the sixth game when played in chronological order, it is the game where kratos kills and massacres all the gods of olympus and to those who did him wrong. A bloody end to the greek world.

Sisters of FATE!!! This is the first game when playing in chronological order, unfortunately I could not play this game (watched it on YouTube instead) because emulating it on RPCS3 is annoying, the main reason for that is this game is very demanding in terms of specifications. It even pushed the limits of the PS3 hardware itself. It is (Playable) but you would need a $300+ cpu to get stable 30 fps. But it is one of my favorites in terms of visuals, attacks, story, and music.

Thanatos!! DIEMOS! This is the fourth game when played in chronological order. It was alright, it just shows you the past of Kratos, and the start of his bitter vengeance against the gods as he figures out they locked his brother away due to a prophecy foretold when they were kids.

Calliope... This is the second game when played in chronological order, it shows humanity in kratos and his sad story. It was alright.

ZEUS!!!!! This is the fifth game when played in chronological order, it begins the start of kratos and his journey to go back in time to prevent his father from killing him.

ARESSSSSS!!! This is the third game when played in chronological order. And since this game is the first one you will notice major degrades from the first two. One being the graphics because duh... and the other is difficulty, this game is very hard even on normal, the final boss makes you take no damage continuously or else the enemy bar fills up too much. In order to win you have to dodge ALL attacks and get his health bar low. Talk about a realistic clash of Mortal Vs. A God.

BOIIIII, this game is considered to be a reboot of the original series, alot of fans have been complaining of repetitive gameplay. Santa Monica decides to take kratos and give him a fresh start in the Norse world, kratos and his new son atreus begin making their way to the highest peak in all the realms to spread the ashes of krato's wife. The journey is amazing and you get to see kratos and his son bond together through hardships.

Classic game for spiderman fans

Played after Automata myself because I wanted to know more about the lore, and this game is amazing, this remaster had clean graphics and really polished it's older release NIER Gestalt/ Nier Replicant (PS3), rich story and nice combat, only downside is grinding for items. But I can't emphasize how good this game really is, the story is different in the way that there is no bad guy, there is only conflicting ideals, where both parties do what they do for the better.

Even the side quests are filled with nice voice acting and story, so doing side quests isn't too shabby in this game.

Yoko taro is a game director that makes unique games with dark undertones, if you love story rich games and JRPGS this is a very nice experience. You might have to dig into the lore of this game by watching or playing the Drakengard 3 & 1 games.
