You know, I think I'm a fair bit older than the target audience for this game.

It's a fine game. Pretty well polished, it has a lot of charm to it, and I really love the theater aesthetics through the whole game. Pretty solid music too. Most of it is your average orchestral stuff, but there are some fun exceptions. The Peach costume designs are all really solid too.

But the issue I guess is just that it's not really that fun or interesting. It just feels really sanitized and overproduced. I've played stuff so much better than this on all fronts.

This is where the target audience comes into play, cause I think someone near the age of 10 might enjoy this game a lot! It's very easy with some mildly tricky parts, and it's goofy enough that I think a kid would have a lot of fun with it. The different scenarios are imaginative enough too.

That being said, there are probably still better games you could give to a 10 year old. Ultimately, in my eyes, it's definitely a fine game, but it's just that. Fine. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm just really impressed with this. This is basically just a tech demo of some crazy things you can do with decomp, and it's really cool. Very much enjoyed my time with this one, though I got stuck on the last star and I'm still really not sure how you're supposed to figure it out. Fun time though, I definitely recommend it.

At first, going into this with the mindset that it was gonna be an awful game, I was actually enjoying it some. It was so jank and so bad that it was hilarious, and the cutscenes were terribly written and I was having a blast.

But then the game just kept getting worse. And worse. Confusing level design, frustrating camera and physics, the really intense lag spikes, game overing thanks to the above, getting lost in the overworld, long load times that load one line of dialog and then another long load right after that...
By the end I was just tired. I wanted to have a fun time with this game even knowing it was bad, but I couldn't even manage to do that. I think it just wraps around to being really bad again.

In fact, the game feels so bad to play that I'm honestly shocked the game never crashed for me. So good on the devs for being able to get this game in as playable of a state as it is, despite all the issues with development and how rushed it was.

But yeah unfortunately, this is still just a bad experience. At least the cutscenes were still hilariously bad the whole way through, so it has that going for it.

Pretty fun game!
It's very much a Professor Layton game, but instead of brain teaser puzzles, it's sorta Rhythm Heaven style minigames. The concept works well, and the charm this game has is great.

Unfortunately this game kinda falters with the minigames, which sucks when that's the main appeal of the game. They're a real mixed bag. Some of them are great, fun, goofy, well designed, and feel good to play. And then some of them require motion controls, so you're stuck trying to awkwardly time moving the 3DS to a prompt while also having to look at the screen to see whats coming up. That doesn't mesh well.

A lot of the minigames also just have some really unfair prompts. Like they come too fast for you to really react properly. The minigames also aren't tutorialized at all except with a tiny bit of text at the start, so you really just have to try and figure it out as you go. It's usually fine, but there were some that weren't.

I also wasn't a fan of how they did their letter grading. I had one game where I was doing really well, had maybe only missed one or two beats. The bar said I had an A rank, I missed the last beat, and it instantly threw me down to a D. Most other minigames also felt really punishing like that, which didn't feel great given the lack of tutorialization and occasional unfair pattern.

But anyways, everything else about this game was solid. Story was decent, the graphics are fun, the vibe is great, the writing was fun. The rest of this game is really what makes it shine in my eyes, and kinda makes the game still worth it despite my issues with some of the rhythm games.

And of course the music is great. It's a mix between big band jazz and your typical noir detective soundtrack, and it works really well.

Overall, I still think this game is definitely worth playing. Most of the minigames are largely fine, and I think there was only one or two required minigames that were really bad. It's a fun and charming game, and if you like Professor Layton and Rhythm Games, you'll probably get some fun out of this.

I was originally gonna give it a 4 or maybe 4.5, but I've been playing more and more, doing some time attacks and just experimenting with the game...
And yeah, I've decided I adore this game. It is a bit janky, maybe could have used a bit more polish, but honestly, I don't even mind. I'm just always having a blast with this game. Getting good at the movement has felt so satisfying, and the level design complements it so well. Every level has like, multiple different ways to get through it, and it makes for such a fun time.

The graphics and story are really charming too! And then the music is frankly insane with how good it is.

I see why people might not like this game as much, but I don't really care. It's not often I can't stop thinking about playing a game even after I've beaten it, and this game has reached that point with me. I love this game so much.

You know, this is about as perfect of execution as you could hope for from a spot the difference game.

It's got two different modes, an insane amount of creativity and charm, and it's handled really well. The levels towards the end did get a tad bit unfair if you ask me, with some of the final levels having differences that were only a few pixels on screen. But the main game is extremely fair and doable, that was just the extra levels.

It had a ton of variety in the art styles used and there were a lot of different pictures with a lot of different changes, so the game always had something new up it's sleeve. It also used a ton of other Namco IPs for easter eggs & content in the game, and it's so charming.
The music was probably my least favorite part, mostly just being basic chiptune remixes of classical music or other old public domain music, but even those were alright.

So yeah honestly, for what this is, it's great. If you think a spot the differences game would be interesting, then this is a great choice.

Yeah so this game is just really good. The first Picross 3D was already a pretty innovative concept and twist on the Picross puzzle style, and this game just made it even more interesting.

There are a ton of puzzles, the game is much less strict than the first game which allows for you to make a couple mistakes and still get the best rank on a puzzle, no time limit, and there's still some really challenging puzzles.
And then my favorite addition, there's a hint system where the game shows you where there's some logic to be done, but doesn't tell you exactly what that logic is. It basically just removes the tedious looking through every block to see where there's something you missed, which REALLY helps on the larger puzzles. And even better, the game doesn't penalize you for using it at all! So you don't have to avoid using it if you get stuck. It's great.

The graphics are also really cute and fun! The solutions all have a different visual style from the first game, and they're just as charming and cute, if not cuter. I liked it a lot more. The music on the other hand, wasn't my favorite. I started off liking it, but I got tired of most of the tracks pretty quickly, which didn't happen in the first. I was able to just turn the volume down though, so it's fine.

So yeah, this is probably the best picross game I've ever played. Highly recommend if you like Picross.

I've had a real bad time with this game over the years. This playthrough that I finally beat was my third time trying to beat the game over the years. The first two times I got lost, got tired of exploring, and stopped playing.

I have a lot of problems with this game. The movement feels really slow. Exploring punishes you most of the time until the end of the game by showing you upgrades you can't collect and forcing you to backtrack. The Chozo Ghosts are a miserable enemy to fight, especially when they respawn every time you enter a room. Some puzzles in the game are extremely poorly designed. The tiny FOV made exploring really hard, and it made platforming even harder. The hint system only kicks in after like, 30-60mins, so you're stuck wandering around until it tells you to go in a completely different direction. Stuff like this made for a really frustrating experience.

I was also gonna say the enemies are too tanky and everything does so much damage, but apparently I was playing on hard mode the entire time lol. I'll forgive the game for that, that was my fault.

Anyways, as frustrating as I found playing the game, there is still a LOT that is really good about this game.

The graphics, for a 2002 game, are honestly really impressive. Barring Samus' face in the ending cutscene, everything still looks really good today.
The lore and worldbuilding present in the game is crazy. Lots of really cool stuff to find if you look for it, and it makes the world feel so much more real.
The atmosphere of the game is pretty great as well. All of the areas feel unique. Sometimes oppressive, sometimes calming, sometimes terrifying, and it all sets the tone really well. It's really engaging.
And then the music. Yeah this is probably the best part of the game for me. It sets the tone SO well, and there are some really great tracks in this game. I wanna highlight the Crashed Ship song in particular. As soon as this song started playing while exploring the ship, I was stunned. The track feels so different from everything else in the game. Much brighter. Serene, with a touch of melancholy. It feels kind of nostalgic. It's such a brilliant track, possibly the best track in the game. It fits the setting so perfectly. That was by far my favorite part of the game, where everything just worked together to make a really magical experience.

So honestly, I don't know. I'm real mixed on this game. The gameplay is really frustrating to me, but everything else about the game is so good that I think it's worth it to push through. I think the remastered version fixes some of the issues I had, so maybe that's the better version to play.

Yeah this is a really solid Picross game. It's a pretty cool spin on the regular style of Picross, and the voxel art style feels really charming and cute! There are a TON of puzzles too, so you get a lot of mileage out of this one.

The last few puzzles started to get more frustrating than anything (the final gold level in the game in particular), and I sometimes had to make guesses in order to beat levels under the goal time, but most of the time this was a really solid game. If you like Picross, this is definitely a great version to play.

This is a really fun romhack! It's a pretty simple concept, but it's pretty fun and easy to pick up.

My only complaint is that like, the game is way too luck based. if you don't get health & defence & attack upgrades as early as possible, you're probably gonna have a bad time. In the original game, you could just get the upgrades before tackling anything hard, but with this game it's completely random. So most of my runs died because I had wooden sword/no rings/3 hearts the entire time. But the run I finally finished was really lucky and got both rings, the white sword, and some hearts really early on.

But even then, it's still really fun. Highly recommend.

It's cute. It's a nice little relaxing game you can play without thinking too much, which was exactly what I was looking for when I got this. I love the sorta low resolution 3D thing it's got going on, and the music was really relaxing.
It's a really short game, but it was a nice time. And for a game about cleaning up the waste from a megacorp, the game is surprisingly not preachy or in your face or anything, it just shows you what's going on and mostly lets you draw your own conclusions.

So yeah, cute game, I enjoyed it. It wasn't that in-depth, and towards the end the inventory space became an issue, but it was still fun.
Also you can pet the loddles, it's adorable.

Really fun! Lots of cool mechanics and ideas, great level design, and great visuals. I especially loved the few music based levels. I went for 100% and it was a really good time.
The final boss was also really fun! Probably my favorite final boss in any Mario game. Fun game.

Pretty good romhack overall. There's some mildly annoying stuff, particularly around the use of the red bubbles, and it felt a lot harder than the original 1st quest, but it's a pretty solid game overall. Graphic updates are good too. I enjoyed it!

I wanted to like this game a lot, but yeah it didn't hit me as nicely as I wished.

My main issue comes with the method of storytelling in this game. I started to notice that the game was stopping me like, every couple minutes of gameplay to show a 3+ minute cutscene that honestly, didn't really affect the story at all. Most of them were character building or foreshadowing or something like that. The game so rarely let me explore the areas when that was all I really wanted to do. But with the frequency of cutscenes that just didn't feel like they mattered, I kinda just lost interest in the story in general.

Also I don't know how to phrase this very well, but something about the graphics really bothered me. The character models and terrain were all fine, I guess it was more just the UI and the effect filters put over everything. Something about it just felt off to me. Definitely just a preference thing I think.

And then the characters. Of the 6 main characters, I liked 2 of them, was indifferent to 3 of them, and genuinely hated the last. Honestly this is probably most of why the story wasn't clicking with me, cause I just didn't care much for most of them.

So if all this game was was the main story, I'd probably give this game, idk, a 1.5 or a 2.

But, there's side content. A little too much honestly. But some of those sidequests were genuinely some of the most engaging parts of any of the Xenoblade games. While I don't care for most of the main characters, I care about like, at least half of the Hero characters, if not more. This is what kept me going through the game.

As well, I think the music in this game is possibly the best in terms of storytelling in any of the Xenoblade games. The flutes used as a significant instrument in so many tracks and musical moments in the game really felt magical in a way not many games do. It didn't overuse it, which was really nice too. This isn't an OST I'd listen to much outside of the game, but within the game it works extremely well. And as much as I said I didn't care much for the story, there were some truly beautiful moments throughout the game, and the music was probably the most significant part of what made them special.

So ultimately... I definitely don't regret playing the game. There was some very good stuff in here. But I dunno, the gameplay loop felt really bad for me overall, and I just really don't think the game respects your time very well at all. If you really like the characters and the setting, maybe the constant cutscene interruptions won't mind you though.

Really cool hack. Lots of really cool ideas and mechanics, along with some really good visuals. Great music choices too! Pretty fair difficulty for the most part, and the QoL additions of being able to just reset puzzles or warp back to the start of a section made it so much more fun. Same with dying, there were some stars in this hack that would have been infuriating if dying booted you out of the level. But no, this hack just warps you back to a checkpoint if you die (with some exceptions, but for the most part).

There were still some kinda frustrating parts, and the usual SM64 physics jank was sometimes annoying, but overall, this hack was a ton of fun!
