2022 games that made my brain think

Nothing here!

Good fundamentals, fantastic arcadey structure that's shockingly rare these days. I need to come back to this game, I didn't fully understand some mechanics when I played.
Flexible mechanic-driven shmup, unusual but very welcome. Too long and crashes sometimes, but no minigames!
Has some great moments but I'm really bitter towards this game at this point. Moves further away from FromSoft's strengths and closer to their weaknesses. LMAOing that this was the big shakeup alluded to by DS3.
Bloated as fuck with stupid RPG systems, but fantastic speedy-yet-weighty combat with tremendous opportunity for creative expression. Honestly just kinda feels like a better version of DMC5.
Possibly the most polished MH has ever been in its structure and monster designs. Feels like it "should be" great, but the combat fundamentals just aren't there, and I don't see them getting better from here without a massive shakeup.
Played this mostly in 2021 but whatever. This game has endless amounts of stupid stuff but the hunts are so fun I don't care. Instacharges, head turns, AI manipulation, positioning in neutral! Tigrex, Nargacuga, Shogun Ceanataur, Rajang! Long live MHFU!
Still in development, but crazy good so far. Enemy design, enemy design, enemy design.
Rock-solid mechanics nested within a bizarre structure. Undoubtedly impressive and worth the play, I should delve deeper into this.
ENEMY DESIGN, ENEMY DESIGN, ENEMY DESIGN. THESE GUYS WANT YOU FUCKING DEAD
Shining example of distilled arcadey risk-reward decisionmaking, with some smart complementing ideas like the red ghost outlines. Fucking terrible last boss though, holy shit.
Arcade minimalism. No enemy or level design, just great mechanics. Just needs the title screen to yell RAIZING!
Laser-focused vision, hilarious, fantastic tactile control. Just a joy to play.
(Alien Vendetta, Scythe 2)
People have literally been making top-class "boomer shooters" for decades that come pre-packaged with the best FPS enemy roster ever, yet no one seems to notice all that much. What the hell?
