God, what an experience.
I’ve been wanting to play Persona 5 for a LONG time now. I first became interested in the game from Joker being added to Smash Ultimate and being mesmerised by the game’s artstyle and music. Only problem was that P5 was a Playstation exclusive and I only had a Switch back then. Few years later, it’s announced that the modern Persona trilogy would be re-releasing on all modern platforms. I went ahead and wishlisted all the games on Steam as I thought that if I enjoyed P5, I would probably play the other games to. And that leads us to today, after I played Persona 3 and 4 earlier this year and finally played Persona 5 Royal after waiting all these years. And it was incredible.
First, I would like to go through all of my negatives with this game as I’d rather end this review on a positive note than a negative one. First issue I have is the cast of characters. This is by far the weakest cast of any of the Persona games I’ve played. This isn’t me saying they’re bad characters but they feel a lot more one-note than previous casts and they don’t really bounce off with each other like previous casts as well. It feels less like a friend group and more a group of people who happen to know each other through the MC. My other negative is that, just like Persona 4 Golden, it is painfully obvious when the original game was supposed to end and where the new content was added. I would’ve much preferred if the new content was more smoothly transitioned to from the main game.
And thats it. Those are pretty much all my negatives for this game. Onto the positives.
The story this game presents you with is incredible. There’s so many twists and turns and, despite having probably one of the biggest cast of main characters in a Persona game, each one get their own time to shine and go through their own arcs. The gameplay is the smoothest and cleanest the series has ever been, bringing back the series’s staple mechanics like the One More system and weaknesses to adding in completely new mechanics that add more strategy to the gameplay like Baton Passes, Negotiations, Gun damage, etc. This is also by far the most stylish Persona game with it’s UI. Everything pops with the game’s gorgeous artstyle with loads of detail being put into every part of the UI that makes the game a joy to look at. I also love the addition of the Phantom Thieves suits/costumes, it helps make each character that more unique and really helps exemplify their personalities. Another great thing about this game is the personalised dungeons (now named Palaces) return from Persona 4 but are even better now with them being fully designed dungeons that you actually can truly explore instead of randomly generated rooms each floor. The Palaces themselves are a treat to explore (except Okumura’s), with each having vivid imagery that gives you a great look into a character’s personality.
Persona 5 is one of the best games I’ve ever played. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is even the slightest bit interested as it is one of the best gaming experiences you can ever have.

After playing Judgment 1, I was really hyped for the second one. They had already sold me on the characters and the world, and I was expecting a story on the same level as the first. While they improved the game overall, with significantly less repetitive missions and new gameplay modes, without a doubt making it a superior game, I feel like the story fell a bit short compared to the first. It's not that the story is bad; it's just not as good. However, the Kaito Files DLC has a really cool story and was a lot of fun to play. I recommend it to anyone who has already bought the second game to consider getting the DLC, as it offers plenty of content and is quite enjoyable.

ok the gameplay is actually fun now you can play it

this game sucks the gameplay sucks the story is all over the place and the objectives are actual shit do not play the game blah blah musics good whatever. at least the gun play is actually pretty good but please do not play this game

Might as well give this a review while I’m in the middle of my P4AU playthrough.
Honestly? I do think The Answer is kinda overhated but at the same time I can see why people don’t like it. Personally, I think it’s a nice expansion that helps tie up some loose ends in P3’s main story as well as give us a proper look into the characters after the events of the game. I know a LOT of people really don’t like the way specifically Yukari acts in this. Without going into spoilers, I think she was completely justified in her feelings but I do think she’s goes a bit over the top at certain moments but it’s realistic for someone like her who’s going through that sort of situation to listen to your emotions more than your logic.
Now while I like the story of The Answer, the gameplay is something I’m more mixed about. I would consider myself a pretty big defender of P3FES’s gameplay (I think I’m one of the few people who like the AI party members.) but even I can’t deny that The Answer is a lot more tedious and monotonous with it’s gameplay. The great thing about P3’s gameplay was how you were essentially given breaks in between the dungeon crawling through the normal daytime activities like social links. It gave you something to do other than just grind for levels for the next full moon operation. But since The Answer is meant to just be a short (for a JRGP) expansion, they decided to axe out daytime activities in favour of just dungeon crawling. It just starts to feel tiring after a while and it never picks up.
Overall, I would only really recommend The Answer if you want to find out what happened after P3 and you want more Aigis content (which btw her arc in this is very well done).

Genuinely incredible mod that masterfully expands upon Half-Life's story. It brings together so many elements from across the series like the connections to the Portal games with characters like Wilson and bringing back enemies from the original Half-Life and it's expansion Opposing Forces in such a way that you can tell this was made by people that truly loved the series. The story is also surprisingly deep and existentially and really goes into how desperate the people who join the Combine are. It's really commendable how Breadman and his team managed to make such an amazing sequel to a fairly barebones mod. Would highly recommend.

Haven’t played yet but he erased his deadname? I’m so happy for his transition

RE4 cements itself as one of my favourite games ever with this replay on PC. It is such a treat on M&K, almost like a different game with how smooth it feels to play.

Incredible remake on par with Resi 2 remake. Kept true to the original Resi 4 which is one of my favourite childhood games ever and it improved on it. Was a bit of a grind to get all achievements but still fun.

I've had this in my library for more than a year now so it felt gratifying to finally complete it.
It's a very fun platformer that can really test your reflexes and has a lot of creative ideas. My only real problem with the game is that it feels very simple. Levels don't really stand out that much and it feels like it starts repeating ideas near the end instead of introducing new ones. I played a little bit of the co-op story and it was pretty fun. It does really give you the choice to actually complete levels together or just cause chaos amongst each other for an hour. The art looks like a good evolution of how it look in Castle Crashers and the character designs are very creative especially Hatty, he's got such a simple design that's really fun to draw. Overall I enjoyed my time with Battleblock Theater and can see why people love it so much alongside The Behemoth's other games.

Meh. Not really worth your time unless you're a big Half-Life fan. Still a neat bit of history I guess but even for a tech demo its a bit underwhelming.

I would consider this to be the definitive Mario Kart experience. While a game like MK8DX has incredible graphics and many characters, karts and tracks to play on, I feel like it misses on probably my favourite aspect of the series as a whole: stupid dumb fun. Mario Kart Wii holds no prisoners, this game is fucked up stupidly unfair. The item balance in this game makes no sense whatsoever, you could get a star at third place meanwhile the guy in last just got a banana peel. I love it. I think its a great addition to the gameplay as it adds to that competitive atmosphere when playing with friends, the dread that at any moment any one of you will get some bullshit item and screw everybody over. Other than that, the game knows how much is enough with it’s main content. While I love having a massive roster of characters in a game (my favourite game ever is smash ultimate ffs) I feel like MKWii has the perfect amount of playable characters, striking that good balance of mainstays in the series and newcomers. The track selection in this on the other hand is a bit more of a mixed bag. The original courses in this game are some of my favourites of the entire series being so much more creative than any else we had seen in the series at that point. My main issues with this game is the retro courses and how you would be able to instantly guess that these are old tracks from their presentation. They’re not bad by any means, I think the selection is good for the most part but visually they’re not on par with the visuals of the new tracks. Overall this is my favourite Mario Kart game of all time and I doubt anything will top it for me.

Overhated and the ending is so good

I love this game so much and the gameplay feels strangely different and more unique to later games. Probably because it's older and there is more emphasis on backstabbing people and parrying because parrying is so easy in this but I love it regardless
