So sad i killed the nice lady in the beginning.... :(

I started the game on one of those nights when I was browsing the entire PS Store and couldn't find anything appealing. I tried ten games one after the other, but none suited my mood. I wanted something fast-paced and dynamic that I could start playing immediately, without long dialogues or cinematic pretensions. Tales of Kenzera: Zau turned out to be exactly what I needed.

Colorful and visually pleasing, the game can easily appeal to gamers like me who aren't necessarily looking for a big challenge. Most of the time, the game feels like a walk in the park, except for the 1-2 moments where it forces you to run from some danger without giving you time to get your bearings (like the lava chase at the end).

However, there are a few drawbacks. The combat units lack variety, with only 4-5 different types to destroy. Additionally, it feels lazy when the game makes you go through a level twice - once in one direction and once in the other.

Overall, I'm satisfied. It gave me a a sense of healthy disengagement that only a solid 6/10 game can offer.

A gift for my girlfriend is a gift for me.

I want to hit the little girl in the face.

Too much communism talk and the ending was a little rushed but overall: absolutly f*cking unique expirience.

I don't find lady Dimitrescu sexually appealing. Sue me!

Highly addictive gameplay with crackpot bullshit fantasy lore. Much easier than Sekiro but I still prefer the latter.

The hollowness of the open world genre is present even here, where the amazing disign can keep you busy for almost 100 hours of slashing bloodthirsty demons and god-like giants. I love the grandeur of the capital, the sadness surrounding the Great Tree and the melancholy of this diying world.

And yet... I feel no desire to play it again. Why is that?

As I said on the one hand - crackpot bullshit fantasy lore. I just don't care about the characters. I don't know them. I am not allowed to know them. On the other hand - the game keeps bringing back bosses after you've killed them, which destroys the special moment you had when you first met them. The Tree Sentinel for example was a horrific nightmare in the beginning but after killing him 5 or 6 times along the way I lost any respect.

Beautiful game. I don't feel cheated. Finished it under 82 hours. Had a great time. But the greatest game of all time? I humbly disagree.

2020

This game is evil. 57 hours of pure hate.

Wow this was amazing. Beautiful ending and great voice acting as always.

This game needs more detective work and less repetitive action.

This is undoubtedly one of the worst AAA games in recent history. The soulless nature of this corporate product becomes painfully evident as you delve into its gameplay, which is not only generic but also relentlessly repetitive. The overall experience is so uninspiring that it can genuinely make you question the future of the Spider-Man gaming franchise. The lack of innovation and creativity leaves a void, making me feel as if a beloved character from my childhood is gone for good.

P.S.: Mary Jane as symbiot will haunt me for a long time...

While engrossed in the game, I had a moment of awe, thinking, 'Wow, what a masterpiece!' The sheer variety and countless hidden details were mind-blowing. However, reflecting two weeks later, I find myself disconnected. Perhaps it's because I spent hours playing the bonus moon levels or perhaps I just don't care about Mario.
