Played it twice (on ps5 and pc) and really enjoyed it both times even though I’m really not the biggest Star Wars fan.

The combat can be really fun and the worlds you explore are beautifully crafted with a great soundtrack. I also really enjoyed the story as your team gets to know each other more and a new awesome member joins you.

Everything is not great though and the platforming parts can feel a bit awkward at times. It’s also quite annoying that there is no fast travel in a game that encourages backtracking to find new upgrades.

Finally, I have to say that the ending feels a bit rushed and is a bit disappointing. But I’m really looking forward to playing the next one !

That Gator is rad !

Lil Gator reminded me of A Short Hike: beautiful automnal visuals, simple but very efficient gameplay and a very touching story told smartly.

The game mainly consists of climbing and platforming all over the island, bashing all cardboard monsters that gets in your way and helping other people so that they accept to join your giant role-play.

It’s adorable, full of funny dialogs and has a simplicity that is very enjoyable.

It’s nothing groundbreaking but it doesn’t need to.
Definitely a very chill and comfy game that will cheer you up !

Hotline Mehami

The game tries really hard to be cool with its falsely complex story, loud electro music and dark humour.

However I had the same impression as with My Friend Pedro: the game gets repetitive quite quickly and the gameplay definitely lacks the precision and feeling of Hotline Miami, the obvious model for the game.

I would not say it is a bad game but more of a dull one. I also remember some levels with vehicles that were quite terrible.

If you’re a fan of My Friend Pedro maybe give it a try on sale, personally I couldn’t finish the game because I got bored after a while.

Paper Maiden

I was a big fan of the first Voice of Cards game which played with classic JRPG tropes and put some twists on them, with many great jokes.

This second episode in the series is pretty much more of the same but the tone shifts a little bit to a more serious one.
The jokes are still are but it is overall a more dramatic story than the previous one.

I did enjoy it but weirdly not as much as the first game. The navigation between different islands and the pacing of the game felt a bit sluggish to me. I also felt like the difficulty was a bit off sometimes, with some random difficulty spikes.

I would still definitely recommend it to any JRPG fan who is looking for a different experience and I definitely look forward to playing the third and currently final game in the series.

Photograph me like one of your French Bulldogs

You have a camera and you take pictures of cute and funny puppies, pretty straightforward right ?

The game is also full of funny challenges and you can unlock a lot of cool lenses or filters.

It's not groundbreaking and it gets a bit repetitive but if you love cute and chill games it is definitely worth a try !

Cat got your things ?

I loved the art style and the concept of tidying up stuff is great at first.

I also enjoyed discovering the alternative ways of solving some levels and the daily challenges can be a fun distraction.

I would have appreciated if the cat intervened a bit more because it felt a bit gimmicky most of the time.

Finally I didn't enjoy the game as much when the levels became more abstract or were about achieving perfect symmetry.

Definitely worth a try if you are a tidy up maniac.

A bit rough around the ages

Let me say that the Sega Ages version of this game is great ! It's full of options and many great quality of life improvements and it's definitely the best to experience the original game.

As for the game itself, I completely see the appeal and some things were incredibly advanced for the time when it was first released...

However, I found the experience to be a bit tedious with the dungeons being needlessly mazy and full of annoying traps. I also wish we could choose the enemies to target when attacking which could have avoided some awkward situations.

I also felt a bit lost after some point in the game since the narration is quite light.

Finally I found the limitations of the inventory surprising considering the amount of key items we have to keep for the whole duration of the game.

It's definitely worth the try as it is an important part of video game history but I would only recommend this to very patient players.

Pikmin without the hassle

The art style of the game is super cute and the music is awesome.

It's a bit lacking in the challenge department since the game doesn't contain any fight but it's a great game to chill and do some fun platforming and simple puzzle solving.

Jest kidding

A very unique game about creating your own nonsensical theatre show.

Many moments were absolutely hilarious, others touching and the ending definitely surprising.

Everything has a big DIY feeling, as you create your janky posters using mismatched stickers or as you try to improvise a play.

However, the game can feel a bit repetitive despite its short length.

Definitely worth a try if you want a funny and original experience.

The Divine Brute Force

My friend worked his *ss off on this game and wasn't credited so thanks Tri-Ace.

That being said, the game sorta feels like a return to a more ambitious A-RPG for the series.

The highlight of the game is of course the ability to dash in the air and have some vertical exploration in the needlessly big environments as well as some fast-paced action in battles.

Said battles are very easy and don't require much strategy except slashing your way through everything as fast as possible.

The story takes quite some time to begin but is pretty fun to follow once it starts.

I enjoyed the characters but the models and animations look absolutely dreadful.

A boy and his boat

Side-scrolling adventure in a post-apocalyptic world.

Push boxes ! Press buttons ! Pretty basic stuff but the art direction and especially the music are great.

Manipulating the boat quickly feels tedious though.

This game sacks

It looks adorable and it has some great levels (especially the musical ones) but it still feels too floaty sometimes.

Also the fixed camera can create some annoying situations where you can't really appreciate the distances.

A game called Mafia is pretty self-explanatory.

The remake looks gorgeous and I love the music.
Story is quite predictable but the cutscenes are usually well directed.

Car driving is definitely not the best as it feels very much like driving a soap bar on the bathroom floor.

I was surprised that the open world is actually not used for any side quests so the game is quite linear.

The art style is gorgeous and some stories can be quite touching.

The first chapter feels a bit rushed and doesn't use it's full potential. I'm also not the biggest fan of the last chapter's "twist".

Also the game is called "The Lion's Song" and yet YOU CANNOT PET ANY LION IN IT !

A shame, very worth your attention though.
