This is a good one as far as rhythm series go. Not my favorite in terms of song selections, but the control scheme's real neat and I'm certainly happy to visit it if I'm at the arcade

Maimai is peak rhythm games for me. Love the control scheme, and the song lineup is massive with a bunch of staples and oddball picks alike

I've never been too into rhythm games on console/handheld/pc, but give me an arcade with a wacky control scheme and I'm all about it.

Beating the drum is a blast once you get the hang of it, and the song selections have had some great picks over the years.

Remember playing this once and going "hey that's kinda neat." Imagine my surprise hearing about it years later under the context that it's apparently one of the crackiest anime fighters out there?

Somehow a pizza place near me had a machine of this?
Anyway the game's cute but definitely stiff, more of a curiosity in this day and age than something to really sink your teeth into.

I mean it lets me play as Archer so it's got that going for it

The original Dissidia and Duodecim were great because, even without touching multiplayer they could still serve as excellent, meaty action RPGs with a whole lot to do and some really cool storytelling.

Words that do not describe Dissidia NT at all what the fuck happened here

I am truly terrible at these games but they're so fun. Delightful vibes

What you got here is a shit-ton of characters, great ones at that, and some snazzy as hell music and killer promotional art courtesy of Shinkiro to go with it.
This game's just cool man

This boxart tells you that the game has Rock Howard, B. Jenet, Terry Bogard, Tizoc, and Kim Kaphwan's son Kim Dong-Hwan.
Frankly if you're not sold by that point I'm not sure what to tell you...but what if I told you Kim has another son?

Why does everyone look like that eugh

It's not as appealing as 2/3 to me especially on the visual side (I'm shallow when it comes to fighting games, I know) but it's still cool

This is like peak 2d spritework dude damn

Played this with my brother at an arcade fairly recently. Neither of us are that good at fighting games but we had a good time.

One match he was playing, I think Blanka? And I was playing Ryu. He had the lead at first, but then I remembered the Ryu from Streets video and thought: "What if *I* jumped into light fierce?" This turned out to work and won me the match.

The last act of this is some of the coolest storytelling Kingdom Hearts has ever done, though even were the game still up I'd never in a million years recommend actually playing it over just watching the cutscenes elsewhere
