The game is gorgeous, every character design is incredible, the visuals rock, the voice acting (in JP and EN) is very professional and charming, and the gameplay is complex and balanced (for PvE) but more importantly- fun to learn.
All of these things make the game special and it stands out as an incredibly polished artistic masterwork.
However, the story and characters are not fleshed out very well, due in part to the pacing and division between multiple nations. Each nation's story is mostly disconnected from the main plot, excluding the first and last nations. The main villain and overarching antagonist(s) have a relatively weak presence and don't feel like the looming threat that they're made out to be, with the exception of the beginning and very end of the game.
I can count the exceptional musical tracks on one hand, and while the music is generally good, only a few songs felt special.
The game's overworld gives you the illusion of being non-linear but it really isn't possible to clear the game that way.
Liberating small towns that don't contribute to the story (or unlock a new character) starts to feel tedious and unrewarding about halfway through the game.
I was genuinely impressed with this game but it falls flat in a few key areas that would allow it to leave a greater impact on me personally.

It's pretty frustrating how time-gated 90% of this game is, upgrading even just one character, progressing through the story, leveling, etc. Under the progression system is a solid rail-shooter with great visuals, music, and gameplay. I guess my main complaint is the story should be easy for casuals to get through, but even after literal dozens of hours I'm barely halfway through the chapters that came out after launch.

You spend most of the time fighting pointless waves of enemies between each cutscene, separating them by multiple minutes at a time. The often poor translations sometimes makes dialogue feel disjointed and nonsensical.

I really love how this game is unabashedly and completely focused on the action and spectacle. Genuine masterpiece in those two aspects. I've never felt more hype and excitement facing a game's stages and bosses.
The browser game can keep feeding us a great visual novel and incredible lore, while Relink puts its best foot forward with what shines the brightest in a fully fledged console ARPG.
This is one of the most polished games I've had the pleasure of playing. From building up/learning/mastering SO MANY unique characters, to bombastic boss fights and an even crazier soundtrack, it's everything I could have wanted.
