I didn't find out that this Kirby game was actually a spinoff only years later, because aside from the gameplay, it's still similar to mainline Kirby games in terms of the enemies you encounter and the worlds you travel.

It's a Kirby game but with a lot of Metroidvania aspects, so it's a pretty interesting change

One of my favorite Kirby games, as well as N64 games.
I absolutely love the mechanic of combining two abilities gives you a whole new ability. If you combine spark and cutter, you can use the same lightsaber darth maul uses though it's not red.
I also love the how the game is 2.5D, similar to Klonoa, another platformer i love, and the backgrounds look really nice despite the N64 limitations.

Maybe Dreamland 3 were the new friends we used in the journey

The most broken ability combo in this game is using Parasol with Coco the Owl. It's so powerful that it got nerfed in Kirby's Dreamland 3.

A fun little game that you can complete in less than an hour, and also the start of an amazing series that is Kirby.
Crazy to think how this led to Smash Ultimate.
