Good Times

The time trial and time attack modes are classic but sometimes under-appreciated modes.
This is just a collection of games featuring these modes. And get the sense that these are all well done in some way— the best instance in the genre, unique in some way, a timed mode in a genre that usually doesn’t have them, or classic.

Racing, running, jumping, rolling, gravity shifting, shooting, manipulating shapes through an abstract space, etc.

Suggestions welcome.

i wouldnt be surprised if these modes are fading away with every new game, not saying these modes are bad by any means but i bet companies and developers would think "time attack? what is this 1979 dankey kang??"

These modes are definitely relics of another era.
And it’s a niche thing. Occasionally some developer will hope that speedrunner brain has spread through the water supply and make it a core element of a game. And then it’s a modest success at most usually.
