This was so good! I'm really stuck between giving it a 4 or a 4.5... it's so hard to choose... I may change it in the future...

Tormented Souls completely nailed the RE1 vibes. All of it. The feel of the mansion, the puzzles, the areas, the music, the storytelling, even the colours.

At the start of the game, I was actually freaking scared bro. I was pooping my pants because the tension was so high. It wore off as the game went on, but at the start of the game, I was actually scared! Which I can't say for any of the classic, fixed-camera RE games.

One thing about the camera I liked was that it wasn't always fixed to the corner of a ceiling. Sometimes it would be like a third-person camera that you can't control. It would follow you and make it feel like you're in control, but you still can't look around that corner without walking around it - no matter how much you want to. This, paired with the minuscule amount of Saving Items in the first half of the game made me feel so tense exploring every new room. The Healing Item scarcity was really good, I never had a stockpile throughout the entire game. The ammo scarcity could've been a bit harsher, I killed most enemies I came across and didn't really run out.

This game does a lot of the classic survival horror mechanics really well and even improves on them in some cases.
The music is really great and memorable, although it could sometimes feel a little bit too similar to Resident Evil.
I actually enjoyed the story quite a bit and the way it was told! All of the notes told the same overarching story but from different perspectives and they were interesting, I never wanted to skip over any.
You don't have to worry about sorting your inventory in this game which makes the gameplay much more streamlined.

But at the same time, there was still a bit of clunkyness with certain things. Like changing weapons, you have to navigate through two menus to do that which feels quite interruptive. Now, I'm not asking for a Doom Eternal weapon wheel, that would be stupid. But this wasn't it. And some puzzles have point-and-click aspects with things that are easy to miss. I looked up a solution for a puzzle, but it turns out I was doing the right thing all along, I just hadn't clicked on the exact correct part of the screen. The "plot twist" is also completely obvious after playing the game for less than a minute. Literally. That's not a massive deal, it's just kinda funny.

Overall, Tormented Souls is awesome! I'm super excited for the sequel to come out. If they can improve on this game, the sequel is going to be amazing.

I have officially beaten all the 2D Zeldas! (besides four swords i guess(wait does phantom hourglass count as 2D or 3D))

This was super fun! I like how they had multiple gimmicks in this game instead of just one. The cloning and the shrinking were both neat and were never frustrating. This is a more linear Zelda game that felt smaller in scale and I like that! Just a cute little romp where you get to play as Toon Link. There were also some really good dungeons and mini-dungeons. Wind Palace was sick just on the aesthetic alone.

Being the last of the 2D Zelda games I played, there just wasn't really anything groundbreakingly new for me. I've seen it all before :P Also, just like most Zelda games, there are moments of confusion where I can't figure out where to go in the overworld between dungeons, which are my favourite parts of the games.

Overall, this is still a super fun romp and severely underrated! I literally have never heard anyone talk about this game.

I tried the first level and it played the same as Yoshi's Woolly World which I just finished.

Turns out Yoshi's games are not for me because they are BORING and SNOOZY

Replaying this beauty😍 But this time, on the 3DS! The only downside I could think of is that some small projectiles like confetti can be hard to see and dodge. But this is Shovel Knight baby! Hell yeah!

Since King of Cards came out pretty late I didn't think it would be on the 3DS version but it is! The devs are really the goat for making 4 games in 1.

Played the 2P mode and it was lovely. The music was super catchy and upbeat throughout. There's enough variance in the levels and nothing drags on too long. Requires coordination between both players and is just a fun time.

Such a cool aesthetic. Love the story and world of this game, but most importantly the oneiric vibes. The plot about the karmic cycle and all that was super interesting to me.

Obviously, the combat is a snoozefest and unnecessary. Was probably only included because this is an RPGMaker game.

But! Apparently the next game won't have any combat! And the style looks even cooler in that game so I am super excited for that omg I can't wait.

this monkey fucking fucking fucking RAAGHHHHHHH

I love Getting Over It and have beaten it hundreds of times. I was excited for this game, it looked the most similar to Getting Over It out of any other rage-bait game out there. Living up to the "foddian" name it talks about in the steam description.

But the core gameplay is just too annoying and painful. Like it literally hurts my hands to play this game for more than 10 minutes. Having to hold down the buttons and yoink my mouse super fast and hard to swing is like the least ergonomic activity in the world. So I'm refunding this game sorry.

The dev really did nail the style of Getting Over It perfectly though.

This game fucks bro.

Beat it and then went to 100% the game and DLC because I just wanted to keep on playing.

I completed one run where I got to the end of the game (but obviously before all the bosses are actually difficult). And after that I didn't really feel like going back to keep playing so I refunded the game.

I'm not a roguelike guy

this game is vampire survivors but epic because it has an actual style and gameplay that requires more active participation.

It has the satisfying feeling of getting stronger and killing more enemies. But here's the best part: After all that - it ends. The game doesn't go on forever, turning into a tedious monotony. It's fun, you get stronger, beat the game, and then you're done.

Love the music.

Yeahhhhh it's just not for me. I think I'm not really a 3D platformer fan in general, so you can take this with a grain of salt if you want. But Penny's Big Breakaway was janky as hell, had some super broken sections (the boat boss fight), and the general platforming I just couldn't get into.

It feels really weird. I'm sure if you're a speedrunner and you are really good at using the yo-yo, it feels great. But I'm not, and it didn't. It's got the momentum-based platforming of a 2D Sonic game which feels good for about 2 seconds before I start falling into the void. When going fast, I would fall off so many edges or go flying into the abyss. But if I go slowly, that's boringggg and it feels like I'm playing the game wrong. Overall the platforming just never felt satisfying to me even after my seven hours of playtime.

Also I don't really like the artstyle or cutscenes or story or characters. Which is kind of a shame because I LOVE Sonic Mania and have played it so many times.

2016

Wow, where do I even start? This game is so unique and definitely not for everyone. But if you can get absorbed into this game like I did, you won't stop thinking about it.

The exploration is amazing due to the simply beautiful world design and stunning, picturesque moments. I've played some games that look really good with their fancy schmancy graphics, but this one's different. I took 65 screenshots while playing because the game looked amazing and I wanted to capture the moment. I think the Source engine helps it here, creating a sort of creepy yet alluring atmosphere throughout the whole game.

The game is long, it could be seen as a 20-30 hour walking simulator. But it's really more of an exploration-puzzle game. The only downside is that some of the puzzles are obscure or easily missable and I had to use a walkthrough for many sections in the game. Without the walkthrough I would've spent a dozen more hours wandering aimlessly. It can also be hard to remember what keys you have. The game would've really benefited from an inventory, or even a simple list of keys.

The game is pretty funny too, some of the things Mark says, but also the actual story. Like, this guy had the craziest fucking day at the office. Once you think you've seen it all, Infra keeps throwing new locations at you that get bigger and better as you get further into the game.

If you can deal with a slow-burning game, try out Infra. The gameplay is slow, yet the pacing is anything but.
