Adorably cute, fun and simple game.

This isn't a stressful over the top game since it gets to the point. It's nice spooky game for Luigi. Story is short but enjoyable. Also like the concept and uses for Gooigi. Gameplay is fun with secrets waiting to be found. And like I said before this game isn't over the top like that. I was able to 100% the game in less than 25 hours, game may not be that long but I feel it's perfect for people who don't have hundreds of hours to spend on video games. This game very chill and charming. I recommend it if you're look for a relaxing and interesting game to play.

Not a long time fan of this franchise but look forward to more in the future.

This is easily the most underrated Skylanders game. The story is fantastic and it had tons of really cool levels and ideas. The cars are probably jarring for many but, I think they were a really fun addition. My only real issue is how lacking in post-game content it is.

Swap Force is definitely one of the stronger entries in the series with hours of content, beautiful locations, fun boss fights,an incredible gimmick and the best roster of skylanders in the series only thing marking it down is WELCOME BACK TO WOODBURROW HERO OF CLOUDBREAK ISLANDS is engraved in my brain please help me i want to be free of this pain

An interesting cross between a soulslike and a lighthearted 3D platformer. It’s clear where its influences lie and I kinda feel it rides the line between being inspired and just copying stuff (“The Sands Between” is not very subtle for instance), but for the most part it stands out as its own thing and enjoyable

It draws from many of FromSoft’s titles obviously (specifically Sekiro with the addition of parries and a stance meter which works well enough here), but the use of shells that give different stats and special abilities added a good amount of variety to combat despite being limited to just your fork. Can also make it into a hammer weapon by attaching shells to it which was cool

Aesthetically SpongeBob comes to mind along with Battle for Bikini Bottom in how it plays as a platformer, but that’s an easy comparison to make really (even has a Mr. Krabs costume you can wear). I thought Kril was a bit obnoxious past the whole playing as a crab novelty, but the sea world and dialogue were charming enough. It’s a surprisingly sizable game too, took about 20 hours to finish

What holds it back though is mainly a general lack of polish. Mechanically it doesn’t really match the refinement of its contemporaries, combat and platforming has an ever present feeling of jank to it that just gets more noticeable the longer you play. Numerous times I’ve gotten stuck on terrain, dodges or parries can be inconsistent to register, the camera tends to bug out especially when you’re often in enclosed areas, for some reason using the hammer would launch Kril into the air sometimes, occasionally the audio would cut out entirely unless I restarted the game, etc. I’ve heard performance is rough on console platforms also, but was mostly alright on Steam Deck for me so can’t really verify that. These are all things that can be improved with patches at least, so hopefully it gets more work there over time

Generally not a fan of what I consider indy titles or many of the small souls likes but this was all around so much fun! It did have some very frustrating moments and I pulled out the gun for certain sniping enemies that catch you an entire map away! I had high hopes going in and I was not let down. The aesthetic and feel of the game were spot on. The story was pretty good and the characters weren't too shabby either. The dialogue was quite entertaining as well. Some of the special abilities are beyond useful for managing the enemies and became a staple mechanic in the second half of the game but you could very much do without them as well so combat felt mostly balanced (excluding those pinpoint precision snipers). Highly recommended to those who love souls and action combat.

Kirby Super Star is a beat em up.

[Dad: What score are you thinking]

[CatTheCutest: A five!]

[Dad: A five?? Are you sure?]

[CatTheCutest: Well, a four. A four-point-five!!]

Okay. So first up, you start off as Gollum, and if you look at him, he's kind of creepy and horrifying. Then you see some... beautiful image. But then Gollum shows up! GRRR! And also it's very dark, so it's kinda hard to find things, especially those VINES. It was just so dark. There was only like teensy bits of fire and that was your only light. And be careful, or else you'll accidentally fall off a cliff! Cuz I did.

The music! It's so good! BOOOOMBS! Cherry Bombs! They will explode ANYTHING in their way. But it only goes about what's in front of them like one square. An enemy that I really don't like is those pogo ones and bucketheads. Cuz with the pogo one they can jump one plant over, and it's SO annoying. And with that buckethead, you need to hit it so much to hit the bucket off, and then you need to hit it a couple more times to kill it. Annoyed.

I have no clue if this is still the last bastion of our culture war or if it’s too woke now so I’m giving it a 5/10 to average those two possibilities out

Pros:
Amazing Visuals
Great combat/build variety
Fantastic pricing
Engaging story and world
Great beginner soulslike

Cons:
Some tedious platforming segments
Later levels tend to drag on

Overall, Another Crab’s treasure is a fantastic soulslike that will keep you entertained for it’s 10-15 hour length. It combines accessibility and difficulty in an amazing blend so any player can have a good time. The experimenting you can do with the different shells and spells keeps the game constantly rewarding.

I was not expecting to love this as much as I did. It's not perfect for sure, but what it did right was more than enough to push it to 5 stars for me!

The combat felt THE best I've experienced in a soulslike outside of Fromsoft, even surpassing Dark Souls 2 or Lies of P for me. Aggro Crab just gets it somehow! My only gripe with the combat is just that the game got a little bit too easy towards the end. I think this is because you can unlock so many powerups that you get to a point where you can just mow enemies down without much trouble. I fought the final boss with full upgrades and took almost no damage (I didn't use assist mode a single time except to get the gun achievement post game). I would've loved to see a NG+ mode or boss rush to address this or just better scaling at least.

The platforming and movement were an absolute joy. Rolling around in one of the many incredibly creative shells and using the grappling hook had a great sense of speed. Sure some platforming sections could be janky but it never bothered me to the point of frustration. I wasn't even expecting the platforming going in so the level of quality it's at was a pleasant surprise. It also sounds like the team is hard at work on fixing bugs as well. Speaking of bugs, most of the ones I experienced just had to do with me getting launched after using certain moves. This also didn't happen often enough to frustrate me either.

The story is the other part that was a huge surprise. I was fully expecting the story to just be goofy crab shenanigans and there's for sure a lot of crab/ocean related humor that was mostly just fine and sometimes fell flat, but the main character actually goes through a lot of meaningful growth, the story gets pretty dark and serious, and it even had me on the verge of tears a few times. It wasn't a life changing story by any means, but it felt way more epic and meaningful than I could've anticipated.

The game also has a lot of references to other games which were kind of fun to discover though it felt like there were a little too many references at times. Now and then the attempts at humor even went a bit too far imo. Still, it was a great experience.

HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who enjoys soulslike games or is looking for a challenge/different experience. I have heard about more bugs on other platforms so it could be worth waiting a while for more bug fixes. I'm feeling pretty strongly that this'll be my GOTY this year.
