Classic game which gets credit for starting an excellent franchise. For its time, the overworld and dungeon designs are quite advanced and fun to explore.

Very simple game which was fun at first but quickly got boring. In recent years, its quality has become even worse.

The underlying issue is that it tried to remake Wii Sports but ended up less fun than the original. The controls felt off and/or oversimplified for most sports, just relying on an inaccurate swing motion. Even the level-up system is worse than the original's skill pts because winning/losing hardly affects it. Overall a weak entry for a Nintendo party game.

Multiplayer gameplay is similar to in Melee but quite unbalanced, however the Subspace Emissary singeplayer mode is surprisingly well-made with an excellent story.

Made an excellent battle mechanic overhaul, the Sinnoh region feels expansive, and the difficulty was good. Major shortcomings were with the regional Dex and the incomplete plot, especially in hindsight compared to Platinum.

simple concept but great execution, it is relaxing to watch the European scenery

original story that diverges from main series but is a bit lackluster, and the gameplay isn't as entertaining

such an adaptable game which offers numerous creative possibilities to the player in terms of building, and it manages to in a unique way almost never become boring.

remarkable remake of G/S/C that is super enjoyable to play through. The biggest issue is the remaining unbalanced level curve, but overall it is very apparent that lots of care was put into the game's design and development.

Story and script are mostly very well-written, and it's a cool new spin on a mainline game. The overworld having such variety in available Pokémon is nice. Sadly the graphics particularly for the landscape are not good, and the poor performance is obvious. Things like cities have lost their charm and character by closing off access to all buildings. This definitely decreases the enjoyment of exploration and NPC interaction compared to older games. This game's main strength is it being fully open-world. It was well executed, but with an issue in balance due to lacking any level scaling. Overall, fun to play but has unrealised potential due to being rushed in production.

Awesome sequel to SM Galaxy which met the high expectations with its focus on creative level designs

very vibrant new region full of contrasting biomes and cities, which is fun and rewarding to explore. Setting Emerald apart from R/S, the Battle Frontier was a huge plus, as well as other additions like gym leader rematches.

like other Johto games, it has obvious level balance issues, especially with the very weak wild Pokémon. Very fun post-game and a much improved aesthetic compared to Gen.1. The changes since G/S were nice, but just too few.

for its time a decent game with a nicely challenging difficulty curve, but suffers from the same glitches and unbalanced mechanics as R/B. Other than the Pokémon sprites, not enough was changed since R/B

it made all needed improvements and additions to the basis of D/P in order to become excellent. Much more variety in the Pokédex, plenty of post-game content was added, and is notably the first Pokémon game to have a more solid story.
