Games from my childhood

Played my first game, Crash Bandicoot: Warped, when I was three years old at a relative's house, where I was exposed to other PS1 games and PC games over the years. When I got my own laptop at nine I mostly continued to play the same PC games that I already knew.
The order kinda resembles how much time I spent on them, meaning top entries being games that I played often and consistently, and lower entries being games that I didn't play that often or consistently.

There are some games on this list that I'm pretty sure nobody outside Germany knows of. They are licensed games relating to popular German audio play/book series and are mostly a collection of mini games held together by a simple plot with some child-friendly 'educational' elements.

One of the first games I really owned and the first 3D action-adventure kind of game. Being able to freely walk around the horse farm practically made it 'open world' for me.

I have actually never been good at these types of games, but I liked them regardless (& I didn't have much choice in the games I played). Learning about history was fun.

It wasn't only my first game, I played it thoroughly throughout my childhood. I think I never had a greater sense of nostalgia hit me than when I played the N.Sane remake.

Gex: Enter the Gecko
Low-key scariest game of my childhood. I barely knew English when I first played it and couldn't unterstand that it was supposed to be comedic/satire. At least I learned a few words.

Could only play this with the cheat code that unlocked all levels to be playable from the start.

I was probably too young to watch that uncut intro movie, but even then I found it to be cheesy. The actual game however was too scary for me to finish.
