Just a collection of games that I really enjoy. They might've made a massive impact on me as a person, or maybe the game was just really fun and I want everyone to know about it. Lots of different reasons. I included some stories as well.

I can't believe this is over 10 years old. Who knew this would have such a monumental impact on me as a person?
Endless fun and peak Katamari. Adding a jump button beautifully fits into the formula. There was a time where I would get up early on Saturdays, drink some coffee, and play a few rounds of Katamari Forever. Everything felt right in those moments.
I think I have Yakuza 0 to blame for outing my love of 'serious story lines with a perfect balance of comedy' being one of my favorite things ever. If the media can nail that balance (which Y0 does in SPADES), you could say: that's rad!
This is THE DS game for me. I 100% this probably around 3 times when I was a kid. This is the game. The game that can be played forever and ever. Music slaps, action slaps, Marx scream.
I have a review of this game.
Beautiful visuals with some fantastic characters. It's a small story that really stuck with me. The time with the game was priceless.
This is the best driving game. First, you are always in a car, already a great step in the right direction. But the main gimmick? The car switching on the fly? OOOO THAT IS SO GOOD. Could not care about anything else, driving was always just the best thing ever.
The game by itself has limitless potential and fun. And then you get to mods and the entire game goes insane. Such a fun roguelike. Definitely worth your time!!
I know the second game is better on paper, but the first one means more to me. I found the first Blind Forest on Steam one day, thought it looked pretty, and gave it a shot. Knew nothing about it going in and couldn't put it down until I was done. Bought the DE and did the same thing. DE is just better due to little extra content and oh my god how did I play the first game without warp points lol
I picked this up on a whim on its release day while I was waiting for Death Stranding to come out. There's nothing really innovative about this, but the characters and story really stuck with me. IDK, it feels like an underdog for me that I will always root for. I also 100%'d it lets fuckin go.
I remember playing a demo of this game in a Best Buy and thinking the graphical jump was so goddamn incredible and video games could not look any better. Landmark video game in my life. Still looks incredible to me and is straight fire the whole way through. Helped me become the car enthusiast I am today in a way that GT1-4 did not.
Read my review on why this game is the most incredible thing.
One of those pieces of media that I will always cherish and be proud to say I experienced when it was new. Life changing not even gonna sugarcoat it.
Raw, untamed, core Me energy. Some other games on this list helped formulate parts of me but no, this game is me. Crash Twinsanity is me. Everything about it. 100% Me energy. You're at dangerous levels.
My favorite game of all time. Total ambition topped off with one of the greatest post-game surprises in a video game: YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS LUIGI. Here is a story: when I was first playing this as a kid, I got stuck at Luigi's Purple Coins. The level would stress me out and I would constantly choke. Or I would get all the coins, but wouldn't be able to make it back to grab the star. One morning, I'm up around 6AM playing this game and I finally beat the level. I was so excited I ran upstairs in a frenzy to tell my Mom I overcame the challenge. She was not happy that I woke her up so early for something stupid like a video game. I have a copy I got signed by Charles Martinet, I'll treasure it forever.
The original was the first game I ever played when I was like... 3 or something. My Dad and I actively played it and joked about a remake of it for years. Never thought the dream would come true. So now my Dad and I actively play this one. So many memories with this gem. Prob one of if not the best kart racer ever if you actually want a challenge. #NTranceGang
makes my brain go brrrrrr this game never leaves my life god help me time to build another castle then put the game down for a decade come back and play it like a madman for a month only to repeat this forever
This is the next game I played after CTR. This is one of the best video games of all time. It's great all around, short, sweet, and to the point. Very little fat that nowadays I can cruise through. Also, one of the best looking PS1 games and cemented me as a Crash Bandicoot diehard.
I played this during college which I feel is one of the best times to play this in your life. I have a fantastic memory of finishing the game at 3AM hard sobbing alone in my dorm watching the credits roll. One of my favorite video game memories. Also the style out the wazoo is super inspiring!
I did not know that HSGF was a souped up version of HSG3 until like 2022. This game slaps. The golf controls are fantastic with an incredible variety of courses. But, what really sells this game for me are the characters. Unforgettable cast that is lodged in 2003 forever, bless 'em. I have a lot of great memories with this and can pick it up years later and it's like I never left.
Yes, this is my first Paper Mario game. No, I don't care that it's not a traditional turn based RPG. Yes, I care about the love story. And no, I do not love going on message boards and complaining about games I've never played. I love this game.
M&L games are a class act. What else is there to say about this? It's great. Story? Kino. Music? Kino. Visuals? Kino. Fawful? Has chortles. I remember waking up one morning and going "I'm gonna spend my Saturday playing this game." Keep in mind, I beat the game years before. So, I played it the whole day. Got about halfway through the game and that was that.
OK I ACTUALLY LIKE THE ENDING SHUT UP!! The style of this game is completely ridiculous I love it a lot. The money behind this one compared to 1 and 2 SHOWS and I know that should not impact a game as much as I'm making it sound like it does but it absolutely did for this game for better and for worse!!
Perfected Boost Formula. Perfect difficulty curve through the main story with a lot of optional challenge. I think this game was the first piece of media that rammed the concept of "nostalgia" into my ass in a way that modern media does. That being said, I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling I got when I heard Seaside Hill again after so long.
It's a really fun arcade-y racing game that I can pick up, feel good about going fast, and then put down again. I don't get that accessibility and level of adrenaline from many other games. Also, I played it non-stop while I was studying abroad. Sort of kept me sane sometimes ngl
The gameplay itself is nothing special and the microtransactions are where the real game is, but the graphic and sound design were instrumental for me. The visuals; the colors and shapes; the sounds; that goddamn OST. This game is in part responsible for forming my identity for things I enjoy.
It's your classic cozy 90s anime. And that's what makes this incredible.
