Bioware games ranked

That I've played so far.

1st and 2nd places are interchangable.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
Other games might outclass this one in individual elements, but as the whole package this game is nearly unmatched.

Almost everything about it is great. The characters, the themes, epic overarching plot, charismatic antagonist, tons of sidequests, the tactical combat... All around an amazing experience.

Unfortunately it is trapped in horrible DND 2e ruleset with borderline zero build variety, but party composition makes up for it. Not to mention lack of romances for female player characters.

1

Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age: Origins
Almost as good as BG2, but suffers from horrible level design, forgettable visual style and some painfully annoying segments(people literally install mods to skip them).

Otherwise, it is perfect. It's like BG2, but 10 years later and with higher production value.

Gap between 1st and 2nd place is extremely close.

2

Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark
Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark
An amazing and epic high-level dnd experience. There's so many cool weird things going on, I can't even begin to describe. It's peak, absolutely underrated gem.

3

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
The most classic and refined feeling of Star Wars perfectly put in videogame format.

4

Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 2
Peak, but shamefully a filler in grand scheme of the story.

Still, the most well-made Mass Effect game.

5

Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 3
Highest highs and lowest lows of Mass Effect franchise, quality literally shifts from 10/10 to 0/10 from time to time.

Some story arcs get deserved satisfying conclusions and it's amazing, but some don't and it really fucking sucks

6

Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide
Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide
Just a wonderful experience all around. It's nice and refreshing.

7

Mass Effect
Mass Effect
It serves perfectly as hook for the main story, the direction of it is definitely there, but unfortunately everything else is mixed bag and slog to get through.

8

Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate
REVOLUTIONARY game, perfectly encaptured experience of low level dnd and great beautiful open world that is begging to be explored.

Unfortunately, outside cool of main plot, the narrative part is... lacking. Obnoxiously difficult sometimes.

9

Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal
Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal
Has it's moments, but painfully underwhelming conclusion to an amazing saga.

Turned on cheats on the last bosses, because of how annoying it was to play.

10

Dragon Age II
Dragon Age II
That's where we enter mediocrity!

First of, I wanna glaze cool visual style, that was initially lacking in DAO.

Second of all, companions are nice, but plot is borderline nonexistent: all the events just... happen, until it escalates to massive bullshit for you to deal with.

Third of, game is obv rushed, reuse of assets is obnoxious, shitload of EA™ ass fetch quests and shitload of unnecessary combat encounters.

Literal definition of mid. Still was nice to play tho,

11

Neverwinter Nights
Neverwinter Nights
As toolset its great, but im judging purely main campaign and IT'S ABSOLUTE ASS. An absolute unfun slog.

Outside of 1st act and Aribeth story, NOTHING is by any means remarkable.

12

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dropped, it's just boring.

13

Mass Effect: Andromeda
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Dropped as well, just boring and faces look like shit.
