If I had a nickel for every time Akira Toriyama as lent his iconic character designs to a legendary RPG, well I'd have quite a few nickels. Goku, Bulma and other Bulma travel through time with a frog, Angry Launch, Vegeta and Rick Astly Robot to defeat Lavos the world eater. Like I said. NO FLAWS. Chrono Trigger is actually pretty short and pretty linear. It's about 20 hours and there are moments where exploration and grinding can be done but ultimately if you are doing every encounter the game throws at you you will be fine. Makes it a good first JRPG really.
Itsuno once said that he wanted Devil May Cry 5 to be considered the best Action game of the Heisei era. The madman did it. DMCV is immaculate( gonna say that a lot in here). The only thing I would consider a flaw is V and how he plays. The default controls do not feel good with how they want you play him but you can remap the controls. And once I found a good one online V felt great. The mappings are also unique to each character so remapping V didn't change Nero mappings for example. Once Again best action game of the Heisei era.
A weirdly underrated game. I had heard many people talk about this game and how great it is but when I played it for the first time I slowly began to understand that most of the people who talk about this have either never played it or have forgotten everything in it. I knew pretty much everything everyone knows about FFVII and still hit disc three and felt like I didn't know shit. Cloud is an excellent MC and I was so wrong about who this man was. Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts gets him completely wrong. The big moment with Cloud, the big reveal that was being built to from minute one is so heart wrenching and the resolution is so beautiful. And NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT. There is so much in this game I had no idea about despite hearing so many people talk about that felt like was gaslighted for all those years.
Mercury Steam defiled the the Castlevania series to than come over to Nintendo and make the best Metroid in the series. That's Nintendo magic baby. Or physical threats. I assume the latter.
Remakes. Everyone hates them because there's too many of them. But you know what? Remakes are good. Because Metroid 1, the legendary game from the equally as legendary Nintendo Entertainment System? Plays like ass. Most games of the era do. Zero Mission is the gold standard for games of this genre. Honestly the only game I can think of that is as good from this period is Metroid Prime.
