Just got to the Sunbreak portion of Monster Hunter Rise and it's even more fun than the base game, the combat, build variety and monster designs are just so solid here that I have nothing to complain about really.
Obviously, nothing will ever beat the pure immersion and world design of MH World but Sunbreak is just about every bit as good in terms of fun if you're looking for more of the same.

One of the first PS3 games I bought and one of my favourites, I didn’t care much for the single player content but there were so many high quality user created levels that it didn’t matter, “The Bunker” was one of the highlights but I honestly can’t remember the name of most of them.
I also remember the amount of cosmetic DLC this game had, I myself bought the MGS4 one.
The OST was an eclectic mix of different musical styles and genres that fit perfectly with the visuals, and the Sixaxis controller giving you full control over Sackboy’s hand movements and arms was kind of incredible, to this day there have been games with user created levels, but there’s still nothing else out there quite like these games, especially not Dreams, a game I mistakenly bought and stopped playing after about 4 hours of Horizon, Dark Souls, The Last of Us, God of War and Crash Bandicoot copycat levels.
9 outta 10

Gonna reserve judgement until the DLC but if it didn't exist it would be a strong 9/10, if Shadow of the Erdtree ends up having at least 3 dungeons as well designed as Stormveil Castle and Farum Azula and 1 or 2 bosses as fun to fight as Morgott, The Omen King I will be forced to give this a 10/10 despite my gripes with some of the artificial difficulty in the endgame
