When you're forced to make a sequel but you don't give a shit so you make it a meta commentary of the success of the first game while making what's essentially the same game again only with some much needed level variety.

One day in 2010 Tom Happ said "Oh boy I'm gonna make my own motherfuckin Super Metroid game" and by god he really did it. He just forgot to fix all the parts about Super Metroid that might not be well received almost two decades later and made sure that his game would have all those problems, with some problems even becoming worse! It's not a bad game but I did find myself consistently amused and befuddled by how similar the game's strengths and weaknesses are to how I felt about Super Metroid.

The game wears its inspirations on its sleeve but manages to stand out as its own thing due to its wonderful controls, fun mechanics and interesting platforming challenges. The camera can be obnouxious during some of the more claustrophobic challenges though. This game will probably be my favourite hidden gem from this year.

They got Chokey Chicken in an E rated game in 2021 because you can only see the Chokey part of the sign.

Other than that it's a fairly standard Mario Kart clone but the slime gimmick from the first game is better realized here with the character based loadout gimmick and the inclusion of the challenge mode makes it have a better single player offering than most mario karts. Shame they still had no budget to bring in any voice actors.

Funny egg game has a level of weird charm to it that unfortunately is buried by obnouxious, repetitive game design.

Fun action game with good controls and mechanics and a fun way to frame the upgrading system. Kind of wish this game wasn't GBA only, mostly because pressing A+B on an SP is more difficult than it needs to be!

Cyber Shadow is a game that controls nice and looks good for what it wants to be. However, obnouxious level design and the game's structure with regards to unlocking new abilities really drag this game down into the sewage. Couple that with the game never really establishing any sort of identity of its own and you're left with a mediocre derivative action platformer that fails to stand out in an endless sea of similar, higher quality titles.

In a crooked little town
they were lost and never found
blowin leaves
blowin leaves
blowin leaves
off the ground

people really played this with a controller huh

More of the first game in pretty much every way, the snowboarding levels are pretty bad when you're a moron and don't realize you can lean in to speed up. Who could make that reading comprehension mistake?!

Why can't our solar system have these funky ass planets

The only other DLC character I actually like playing. Manages to have a simple yet unique design in this bloated ass videogame. She cute too.

As someone who likes this franchise a lot, you can do much better than Yet Another Generic Sword-Swinging Fire Emblem Protagonist.

Terry's implementation is cool but there are numerous other interesting SNK characters to put in instead of boring white meat main character.
