With Benjamins Percy's Wolverine comic series just wrapping up and the new comic series of Wolverine: Deep Cut just beginning, It really got me wanting to go back and play this childhood gem of mine after 15 years...

I am officially bumping this up from a nearly perfect score to a perfect score. Although the film was absolute dog shit and Fox somehow butchered a perfectly developed script and a lot of the mutants in the film
cough Deadpool & Sabretooth cough
Activision really came through here and didn't go over the top trying to change up significant aspects of the Wolverines story but, they clearly seen what the film wasn't taking advantage of and delivered that, and that's what makes this game so great. All a character like this needs is its root story, enemies/villians and it'll be perfect plus, it's what fans wanted and they were aware of all that. Activision also captured perfectly what it would feel like to take control of the Wolverine and finally giving fans a first look at how brutal and ruthless the mutant is. Since Fox was too scared to showcase the brutal nature of him in their early films and unfortunately keeping Wolverine PG-13 for years, Activision became the first to deliver an on-screen R/M rated look at him and IT. IS. AWESOME! It still is to this day but at the time it was so mindblowing and a relief to see! Fans were ecstatic, especially given that it was based on Jackman's Wolverine.

Activision done a really great job at delivering Marvel games to fans. Granted, they definitely have some stinkers but for the most part they knew what they were doing, knew what fans wanted and respected each Marvel character. It's extremely unfortunate they lost their license with Marvel, knocking all of their Marvel games off physical and digital shelves so, playing it once again after all of that makes it feel way more special.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is without doubt the most ruthless FromSoftware has been out of any game or DLC of theirs in the past and despite that, they STILL show why they are the masters of game design, art design, musical score and storytelling. They've completely outdone themselves here, proving yet again why they own the throne!

Still Wakes the Deep (almost) swims perfectly when it comes to the first-person horror genre. The visuals, audio and voice acting are all top notch here and the Beira D rig is stunning, crammed with detail and character that makes for one of the most unsettling and claustrophobic atmospheres I've experienced in a horror game. All of this combined perfectly with a mysterious and captivating story that constantly keeps you wanting more!
